Like every year this year also Apple came out with not one, not two, but three new iPhones. While we still eat early wait for the iPhone 10 to hit the Indian Shores, we've got the two iPhones that are available meet the iPhone eight and the iPhone eight plus now in terms of design. The new iPhone 8 and the iPhone 8 plus are slightly different from what you saw last year with the 7 and the 7 plus this time around Apple uses a glass and aluminum finish now the glass that they say that they use on the new iPhones is one of the toughest glass that has been used on any phone till date and they both look very beautiful and very premium specially in the new colors that we have with us. Talking about the display. The new iPhone 8 comes with a 4.7 inch, retina HD display and the iPhone 8 plus comes with a 5.5-inch retina HD display. Now both these display come with two-tone technology, which manages the white balance.
To give you a paper like feel on the display, which is good. If you read a lot on your smartphones and while playing games, the display Christmas and the color clarity and the color gamut that this one has to offer is just brilliant when it comes to the audio quality. The speakers on the new iPhones are also redesign and are much louder and clearer than what we saw on the iPhone 7 and the 7 plus. Now the new iPhones run on the latest iOS 11, which Apple introduced for all the iPhones. But when you, the iOS 11 on the eighth and the eighth plus, there are a lot of features for you to choose from.
That might not be the case on the older iPhones running the iOS 11. Talking about the processing capabilities, the new iPhone come with the latest a11 Bionic chip set. Now this one also comes with a noodle engine and is a six core CPU in which you get two performance cores and for efficiency codes and by god they are optimized for performance on both these smartphones. The new iPhone 8 plus, is also an are ready, not so much when it comes to the ad. That is because it comes with a dual camera set up at the back.
Both these phones come with 12 megapixel camera, but the camera capability on the 8 plus is the one that we would like to talk about. It comes with a 2, 12, megapixel camera setup. One is a wide-angle lens. The other one gives a telephoto lens, and the new portrait lighting mode is something that you will fall in love with. If you like, clicking a lot of portrait images of yourself as well as your family.
Having said that, the portrait lighting mode on the iPhone 8 plus, is still in beta and needs a bit of reworking, especially in the stage lighting and the stage moon or lighting effect, because the image crop on your subject is not always accurate. It only comes great if you have cleared the subject in a good lighting environment. Now, another major difference when it comes between the iPhone 8 and the 8 plus, is the capability that the 8 plus offers when it comes to augmented reality. Now that is a natural progression for smartphones in the future, with so many smartphones coming with dual camera setups now, each camera on the iPhone 8 plus, is individually collaborated with new gyroscopes and accelerometers for accurate motion tracking, and that means that when combined with the 11 Bionic chip, it gives you a seamless, augmented reality experience. We checked out a couple of apps like inside heart and night sky and were pleasantly surprised by the kind of detailing and the level of motion tracking that the 8 plus was capable of doing when you fire up an AR app and that's not all when it comes to the camera on the iPhone 8 and the 8 plus.
If you like to shoot a lot of videos, the iPhone 8 and the 8 plus are now capable of shooting 1080p videos in slow motion and that too at 240fps. Now that means that you can now have high quality, slow motion, video recordings of your memories. In fact, we've never disclosed this, but 80 percent of whatever you see on the take an auto show and on our YouTube channel, was all shot on an iPhone, 7 plus, and we've started using the new 8 and the 8 plus for it, and the video quality has we improve. And finally, what the iPhones of the earlier generation missed on was wireless charging, and now you get wireless charging on the eight and the head plus, and it works. Even if you put a back cover on your smartphone now, Apple is not bundling in the wireless charger with the new iPhone, and they cost a bomb as well, but you can get any tree certified wireless charger from the market and these phones will charge on them.
So what do we think about the new iPhone, 8 and 8? Plus they are the next generation iPhones, well only to be beaten by the iPhone 10 when it arrives, of course, but for now, if you are on an iPhone 6s or an older iPhone 6, the iPhone 8 and the 8 plus makes perfect sense to upgrade not so much for the people who are using an iPhone 7 and want to upgrade on the iPhone 8. But it will make a lot of sense for people who are on the iPhone 7 plus and want to upgrade on the iPhone 8. Now when we say like that, it's all confusing, but to make things simpler for you. Our recommendation to you would be that if you are on an iPhone, 6s plus or an iPhone 6 plus, then go for the iPhone 8 plus and if you're on an iPhone 6 and the 6s then buy the iPhone a not so much of an incremental upgrade for people who are using the iPhone 7 and the 7 plus for now. But the iPhone 10 might just make that cut.
