Redmi Note 8 2021 - Unboxing and First Impression!

Hi, it's art again from few techs later, and today we will unbox and set up a new phone that Xiaomi sent us want to know what we got. Let's find out if you're into tech and smart home in particular consider subscribing that's what this channel is all about, don't forget to click the bell to get notified when we put our unboxing and first impression videos just like this one to make it easier for you. As always, we leave timestamps. So you can skip to the part that you're interested in not too long ago, we received a TV stick in a Redmi buds, 3 pro. If you haven't watched that I will leave a card right here and as always, all products mentioned in this video are linked in the description check them out and this time Xiaomi are generous enough to send another device for us to test out full disclosure. We received all these devices from Xiaomi for absolutely free, but as always, we are providing our 100 honest opinion.

Again. We have the Redmi Note 8 2021, let's see what we have in the case and what my first impressions are. Furthermore, we will create a separate video talking about our full review of the device, but for now here's the box. I believe this will be the retail package already. That means when this phone hits your local store.

This is already what you will get as of making this video. There is no official release yet as to how much the phone will be. The phone was announced last 25th of may so most likely. The phone itself is not yet available everywhere. All right going back, the box is very plain and clean.

Looking in front, we only got a glimpse of what the phone looked like in the color that we selected when we purchased one on both sides. It got a text where it says Redmi Note, 8 2021, with easy access to the Google apps you use most. That could be the reason why Xiaomi sent this particular device. If you don't know, this channel is about smart home tech as well, and we use Google services in our home we'll find out what app Xiaomi is pertaining to and on. The bottom are the details about the phone like the IMEI numbers manufacturer's address and the things included in the box, which we will talk about in a second, let's pop this open.

Let's put this aside. First, here's the phone in front. It got the sticker that gives you brief information about the specs for the device at the back. It has this four vertical camera setup front and back are made of corning gorilla class 5, which makes the texture more premium when you're holding it, and it can endure most daily scratches and want show and dents at all. Now, let's take this thing off and power it on, while waiting for the phone to boot up, it has three available colors.

The one we have is the Neptune blue, the other color variants are the moonlight white and the space black in the box. We have a charging brick in the USB cable. In this other box, we got the sim ejector tool, the warranty and quick start guides in a clear phone case, which is a perfect addition, since most new phones. Nowadays, it's really hard to get the case. Of course.

First thing: we need to set the language. The region accepts some terms and condition the usual. I should say nothing special in setting this up compared to other smartphone, once everything is complete, it loads up. Actually that took a while. So while waiting, let's talk specs the screen size is 6.3 inches, it has an 81.7 percent screen to body ratio. Display resolution is 1080 by 2340, pixels front and back are made of glass.

The screen is made up of corning gorilla, glass, 5 and the brightness can reach up to 500 nits on the edge of the display. It has a LED indicator, speaker, a drop-notch, front-facing camera. Let's talk about the front camera, it has a 13 megapixel and supports HDR, and it can shoot 1080p video quality at 30fps. On top, you have an IR blaster on the right. You got your volume rockers and the power button on the left side, just the sim and SD card tray.

Speaking of the sim and SD card, the 2021 Redmi Note 8 has a hybrid tray that works with two sims and a SD card in one tray and at the bottom you got the audio jack, the mic, USB port and the speaker. At the back. We got the four camera setup. We got the 48 megapixel main wide lens, an 8 megapixel ultra-wide and 2 megapixel macro and 2 megapixel depth sensor. It has a maximum resolution of 1080p at either 30 or 120 fps.

I know it's kind of disappointing since it does not shoot at least 2k or 4k. Video still taking photos and videos are crisp, no subtle colors, but when you zoom in those pictures, that's where you will notice the difference when it comes to the quality. As of making this video there's no official price yet from Xiaomi, but our best guess is that it will be under 200 dollars, still like its predecessor when it launched in 2019. And yes for some of you who don't know there is a Redmi Note.8 2019 we'll discuss the difference later in the video so for under 200, not bad. Now, let's talk about what powers this phone up, it has a 4 000 William hours that should last you for an entire day, we'll be doing an in-depth review of this device once we already have enough time playing with it, and we will talk about its battery life gaming performance in both video and photo quality, so stay tuned under the hood.

It has an internal storage of 128 gigabytes. You have an option to get the 64 gigabytes. One. Both variants have four gigabytes of ram. If you want to save more once this is out, they offer a three gigabytes ram with 64 gigabytes of storage.

Talking about the processor, it has the MediaTek hello g85, and this has android 11 OS right out of the box with me, UI 12.5, for connectivity. This has the Bluetooth 5.2, and it can connect to either 2.4 or 5 gigahertz Wi-Fi earlier I mentioned it has an IR blaster. So that means it has infrared built in, but no NFC and no wireless charging. Here's a screenshot from GSM arena about the differences with the 2019 and 2021 versions. Major difference is first, the ram on the 2019 version.

You have an option to go with six gigabytes instead of just four another notable difference is the processor. The previous generation has the Qualcomm snapdragon 665 talking about speed. Qualcomm's snapdragon is 2.7 percent faster than the hello g85 and last difference that we notice is the video quality from its rear camera. The 2019 version can shoot 4k. So what are our first impressions if our guess is correct under 200 with the specs that Xiaomi built to this thing? It's well worth it.

It feels premium, it's not that light in terms of weight, so it didn't feel cheap at all with glossy finish at the back with glass. Furthermore, it feels great. Holding in your hand, bear in mind, though, that glass covering like the one we have in the Redmi Note, 8 and most likely other phones in that aspect- can easily catch fingerprints and smudges for those whose about to ask. Yes, it has Google play pre-built, the messaging and phone app pre-installed are from Google. Those are two of the Google apps that is baked into this phone like what says in the box once you power it on all google apps that you likely need are already in here.

So there you go. That's the unboxing in the first impression we have on this device, drop all the questions you have, so we can address those in our full review again. This is art from few texts later, thanks for watching, see you next week, you.
