Redmi Note 10 vs Samsung Galaxy A32

Mid-range and budget smartphones are getting more competitive by the day with brands trying to offer more value at lower price point, and this only bodes well for the consumers. Between the Redmi Note 10 and the Samsung Galaxy A32, which is the better value for money? Wadup guys Izzi here and welcome to the channel. It is another interesting comparison between two good value devices. This is the Samsung Galaxy A32 which is the most affordable of Samsung's high-end a-series devices and retailing for about $270, and this is the Redmi Note 10, the most affordable of the Note 10 series from Redmi, coming at a more affordable price point of about $240. These prices are going to vary depending on your configuration and region. Now, both of these devices have their unique selling points and features that make them great smartphones.

I have detailed review of the Redmi Note 10 on the channel already which I'm going to have linked in the description. A review of the Samsung Galaxy A32 is also in the works, make sure to subscribe to the channel so you don't miss that one. Should you decide to purchase either of these devices I'll have my affiliate links in the description, you can support the channel by using those links and I'll get a small commission. The retail box of both the Redmi Note 10 and Samsung Galaxy A32 contains similar accessories, everything is inside the box except your earphones, but both phones have a headphone jack. Right from the box you can find one advantage the Redmi Note 10 already has over the A32 and that is its charger, a 33 watts fast charger while the Samsung Galaxy A32 has just a 15 watts charger.

While the design of these smartphones are lovely and have significant improvements over the previous generation your choice on the better design is going to come down to personal preference. I love the Samsung Galaxy A32 for its unique design, not your regular design with a camera bump but something more stylish. The Redmi Note 10 on the other hand has an interesting design with a curved finish around the rear which may feel better to hold. It is important to note that the Samsung Galaxy A32 has a 4G and 5G version. The 5G version has a similar design but different processor and display.

This is the A32 4G. Both the Redmi Note 10 and Samsung Galaxy A32 have a plastic back and a plastic frame with Gorilla glass on their display. They both have glossy rear finish and will attract smudges, mostly visible on the Redmi Note 10 probably because of this color. The Redmi Note 10 has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner while the Samsung Galaxy A32 has its fingerprint scanner on the display. Both fingerprint scanners work just fine but as expected from a physical scanner the Redmi Note 10 is much faster to unlock.

Another advantage the Redmi Note 10 has over the A32 is the presence of stereo speakers which are better sounding than the bottom firing mono speaker on the Samsung Galaxy A32. The A32's speaker is decent and loud enough but for its price you would've expected stereo speakers. The Redmi Note 10 also has its signature IR-blaster which is common on Redmi devices. The display on both devices is a 1080p super amoled which looks identical in terms of display quality. The Samsung Galaxy A32 uses an old style Infinity-U display while the Redmi Note 10 adopts the center hole-punch for its selfie camera.

The Samsung Galaxy A32 has a few advantages over the Redmi Note 10, one of which is the display protection. The A32 has Gorilla glass 5 while that on the Redmi Note 10 is Gorilla glass 3. In other words the Samsung Galaxy A32 is more resistant to scratch and damage if you drop it. The second advantage is the high refresh rate display on the A32, a 90hz refresh rate which makes the UI and touch experience very fluid and enjoyable. You're going to find the Samsung Galaxy A32 more satisfying to operate.

The Redmi Note 10 has a nice touch experience for a 60hz display but just not as good as the Samsung Galaxy A32. On software, both devices run on Android 11 with their respective custom skins. One UI 3.1 on the Samsung Galaxy A32 and MIUI 12 on the Redmi Note 10. The A32 also edges out on software as One UI is neater with no ads, minimal bloatware and most importantly, three years guaranteed OS upgrades, and an extra year of security updates. You will get system ads and bloatware on the Redmi Note 10, and it is uncertain how many OS upgrades to expect here, at best I'd say two.

The user interface on both devices are visually pleasing and the best for you is entirely up to your preference. The Redmi Note 10 and the Galaxy A32 will both run apps flawlessly for the most part and multitask just well enough. You get a base 4 gigs of RAM and 64 gigs of storage on both devices and up to 8 gigs of RAM on the A32 depending on your region, while the Redmi Note 10 the max available RAM option is 6 gigs. Both have max 128 gigs of storage and support expandable storage. The Redmi Note 10 is powered by the Snapdragon 678 processor and on the GPU we have the Adreno 612.

The Samsung Galaxy A32 on the other hand is powered by the MediaTek Helio G80 processor and Mali G52 GPU. The benchmark scores of the Redmi Note 10 is significantly higher on both Antutu and Geekbench, but that is actually on paper. In real world performance both are similar. In a speed test, app load times were the same most of the time. You would expect the performance of the Redmi Note 10 to edge because of its slightly superior Snapdragon processor, but when it comes down to gaming, both devices have similar performance, having the same graphics options for most titles.

On Genshin Impact however, while both devices run the game at low settings with minor lags, in my experience the Samsung Galaxy A32 had the edge and it ran slightly smoother and with less lags. I had the game freeze and crashed once on the Redmi Note 10. I didn't experience that on the Samsung Galaxy A32. This might not necessarily be the case for you but this is my experience so far with both devices. Both phones have a 5000 milliamps per hour battery which will take you through an entire day.

From my experience however, the Redmi Note 10 drains quite faster than you would expect of a 5000mAH battery. It might be optimization issues and it should be fixed with a software update. The Samsung Galaxy A32 battery is optimized pretty well even on 90hz. You can get more out of the battery if you switch to 60hz. On charging, the Redmi Note 10 does it significantly faster by virtue of its 33 watts fast charger.

On cameras, the Samsung Galaxy A32 has a higher configuration with a 20 megapixel selfie camera, the main camera is 64 megapixels. The Redmi Note 10 has a 13 megapixel selfie camera and a 48 megapixel main rear camera. Both have an 8 megapixel ultra wide camera. The A32 has the higher 5 megapixel macro and depth sensors over the 2 megapixel macro and depth sensors on the Note 10. Pictures from the rear cameras of both devices look good though the ones from the Samsung Galaxy A32 appears sharper and looks to preserve more detail, but I'll leave that to personal preference.

Which do you think takes the better photos out of these two devices? The selfie cameras on the A32 is much better with image processing, more detailed and better looking than what we get from the Redmi Note 10. With the Redmi Note 10, images looked a little too over-processed and it loses detail. Both devices have a dedicated night mode and you can take decent pictures in low-light. While the Samsung Galaxy A32 has higher camera specifications, the Redmi Note 10 is the one that is capable of shooting videos up to 4k 30 frames per second. The Samsung Galaxy A32 is maxed at just 1080p.

Okay, hello guys so it's a camera comparison this time comparing the Redmi Note 10 which I have on my right hand and the Samsung Galaxy A32 on my left hand. The A32 has a 20 megapixel selfie camera while the Redmi Note 10 has a 13 megapixel selfie camera. The Redmi Note 10 is able to shoot 4k 30 frames per second but the A32 can only do 1080p 30 frames per second. How is the picture quality, video quality and microphone quality? Let me know in the comments section, peace. So here's the summary; The Samsung Galaxy A32 has better software support with three years of OS upgrades and an extra year of security updates, better selfie cameras, its rear cameras are debatable in comparison to the Redmi Note 10.

You also have a high refresh rate display, slightly better gaming performance, but it is also the more expensive device. The Redmi Note 10 however is more affordable, great stereo speakers, better processor, faster charging, 4k recording on its cameras. Whichever of these devices you choose to purchase is going to give you great value and satisfaction, though I feel the A32 should have been priced a little lower. At its current retail price it is not very far from the base model of the Redmi Note 10 Pro. Between the Redmi Note 10 and the Samsung Galaxy A32 from the review so far, which of these is your pick? Let us discuss in the comments.
