Realme X7 Pro Review - THE NEW VALUE CHAMP?

Hi guys it's Frankie from Frankie tech good to see you guys again, and I'm here with my review of the realm x7 pro now I've been using this phone for a couple of days and I have a lot of thoughts about this phone. Is this the true k30 ultra killer that I initially claimed it might be and coming in at a cost of 2500 RMB, it's a bit more expensive than that phone, but is offering some amazing specs for the price and guys ahead of time. Apologies for the drilling that is going on. I will try to reduce and post as much as possible. So let's go down the rundown design, display performance, quick audio test share my camera samples, and we'll wrap up with some Call of Duty mobile here on this phone. Can this surpass the k30 ultra as the ultimate value champ of 2020? Let's have a look, but before we do that, let's look at what was inside the box with this Realme x7 pro and reminder again guys.

I got the 8gb 128 gigs of storage version and I got it in this gorgeous kind of white color. Not the dare to leave on the back, but I'm very happy with my color selection here, and we have the Realme yellow all over and here you see, you have your paperwork, and this is also where you would find the CPU case and Realme always ships this kind of grayish tub cases that tend to be a lot thicker than the ones that Xiaomi ships- I don't mind them, but I don't love them either. We have our super dart 65 watt charger. There you see it USB-C to 3.5 millimeter, headphone jack dongle, yes, there's no headphone jack on this phone, sim ejector tool and USB a to USB charging cable with a very nice yellow, Realme accent, color overall, pretty standard unboxing here for this phone design, 8.5 millimeters, 184 grams, so one of the lighter phones I've tested. But there is a reason why that's the case? It is because we are using plastic here on the edge of this phone, and I have to tell you guys after a couple of days of use.

This is my least favorite aspect of this realm x7 pro's design, there's just something about these ridges and the grooves of this phone that I feel look a bit cheap and I think when phones try to imitate metal even more, they just look even worse. That being said, the buttons do feel pretty nice, and I do like this real me, yellow accent here on the power button and quick tour of this phone. We have a Michael here at the top. We have the power button on the side, USB and the speaker sim tray and your volume rocker, but unlike phones like the polo, x3 and FC, this phone is using gorilla, glass 5 on the back, and it is a very nice look. Yes, it is glossy, but I do appreciate that Realme is doing something a bit different here and a rainbow pearly effect on this phone.

It's not as impressive as the c color version, but I honestly think that version is a bit gaudy for my liking and I eventually would get tired of that. Look. That's why I picked up this pearly white version instead and on the front one of the smallest bottom bezels. I've seen this year on a phone and same for the side bezels and the top. They are very small.

But yes, there is a punch hole on this phone. It is on the left side, though, which I think is a pretty good placement overall and last but not least, you have your camera module here, 64 megapixels, and it's a different look from the one that we've seen on previous realm phones. I don't love it, but I don't mind it either. All in all, I don't mind the design of this phone guys it's actually pretty nice, but the plastic edge definitely feels pretty cheap in the hand, and it just doesn't reach to the level of the premium. Look that we see on phones, like the k30 ultra display 6.55 inch, e3 AMOLED display full HD 120 hertz, guys, that is the hero spec of this device and overall, I think the display is definitely the highlight of this phone. But there is one thing that I do want to bring up and that's the fact that I see here on realm UI, there's no way to adjust the colors of the display.

We do have a screen color temperature, which allows you to go from cool to default, to kind of warm settings but other than this OC vision effect, which I do have turned on. I'm pretty much stuck with a calibration that comes out of the factory here now. I'm not sure why Realme limits this, because I'd love to be able to bump up the colors just a little more, but that's a small nitpick to what is otherwise a really great display and, as you can see here in refresh rate, you can choose between 60, hertz, 120 or auto select, which is almost like an adaptive refresh right here, where it will select the best refresh rate for an app between 60 and 120 hertz. Now, when the bezels are so small on a phone, the punch hole doesn't bother me, and it's actually a tiny punch hole, single punch hole. So it's a non-issue and the fluidity guys on the home screen and in settings is really impressive, but I mentioned this on twitter yesterday that scrolling through this app, is actually one of the worst experiences.

I've had the level of bank I've seen on the realm x7 pro is awful, and I don't know if it displays here on the camera very well, but it is definitely not 120 hertz when I'm using Twitter on this phone, but despite that guys, a terrific display with really great viewing angles, even better than the ones on the k30 ultra. It's a bright, beautiful display and definitely one of the highlights why you would want to pick up this realm x7 pro and here's YouTube playback on the realm x7 pro and minus the slight punch hole here. This is one of the most uninterrupted viewing experiences on a phone that I've had this year and with those gorgeous AMOLED colors, dual speakers and just a really immersive display. I think you're going to have a great time watching content on the Realme x7 pro, but in DRM info, and I haven't had to do this for a while l3 guys on this realm x7 pro, and it looks like real means not prioritizing offering HD Netflix support on their china. Rom phones- and it is a pity- but it looks like Xiaomi- does have an advantage here on their china ROM releases l3 only on this realm x7 pro, but in terms of performance.

Look at this amazing result here from the density 1000, plus only the second time, we've seen it here on the channel and using performance mode. I was finally able to reach this 537 nearly 540 000 score that has been touted as the score that this density 1000 plus can get, and I don't know why my k30 ultra still can achieve this, but I'm so glad to see that real me, at least in performance mode, allows you to reach these scores and with eight gigs of ddr4x ram 128 gigs of UFS 2.1 storage. This rookie x7 pro has performance to spare apps open up really quickly and the 120 hertz, refresh rate with a 240hz touch sampling rate, make this one of the zippiest phones, I've tested all year, and this phone is made even zippier with Realme UI version 1.0 because of its lightweight nature. I do think guys that this phone does perform faster than the k30 ultra. I don't see those drop frames when opening control center and in general, everything is superfast super speedy.

On this phone and talking about battery, we have a four thousand five hundred milliampere capacity, and here you see a calculated screen on time of around seven hours and 29 minutes. But to be honest guys, the capacity is not why you would want to buy this phone you're going to get it for the 65 watt, super dart charging and just like the x2 pro this Realme x7 pro is super impressive. When it comes too fast charging. How impressive you may ask well guys check out my fast charging test of the realm x7 pro and let's talk about it when we get back, and so there you see it guys with a zero to 100 charging time of just around 35 minutes. I was seriously impressed with this phone and honestly for the extra five minutes.

I will take having 500 more milliamperes compared to the Realme x2 pro, and I would say this feature is the standout feature when you compare to a phone like the k30 ultra, to think that you can go, have lunch or if you're about to head out for the night, go for a quick shower, get freshened up and then, when you're back, your phone is ready to go. That's one of the best features of not just this phone, but of all realms phones, and if you want the fastest charging phone in this price segment, look no further than the Realme x7 pro and talking about the fingerprint scanner. We have an optical in display fingerprint scanner, but just like the x2 pro. This is one of the fastest fingerprint scanners that I've used. This year and a lot of it has to do with real menu eyes very simple animations, you just click, and you get in there's no kind of flying planets, there are no apps swooping in from the side.

No, it just goes straight to the display one of the fastest fingerprint experiences on this realm x7 pro and the vibration motor is also very solid on this realm x7 pro. I would put it on par with the ones that we feel on phones like the realm x2 pro the OnePlus 7t, and it's a little below. Maybe the mi 10 ultra and OnePlus 8 pro, but it's a solid haptic experience, and you're also able to adjust vibration intensity here from weak medium to strong and vibrate on touch can also be adjusted all in all. It's a solid vibration monitor and great haptic experience on this realm x7 pro and in terms of comms. We have the latest Wi-Fi 6 on board, along with Bluetooth 5.0 with LE and apex HD capability, dual-band, GPS NFC as well, but there's no IR blaster and no FM radio on this phone, and now the audio speaker test. Dual speakers on this phone Dolby Atmos, capable, let me bring the mic down.

Let's have a listen. What can I say very impressive, sound here on the realm x7 pro. I did not expect this phone to not only reach the level of the k30 ultra's dual speakers, but I think they surpassed them with clear, sound, a great bass and just solid stereo separation, and these speakers get loud, but they also stay very clear. Now we'll have to wait for the full comparison between k30 ultra to really see which one is best, but for now I think these speakers on the realm x7 pro are top-notch and in terms of cameras we have a 64, megapixel, f, 1.8, mix 686 here on the Realme x7 pro. On top of that, we also have an 8 megapixel, ultra-wide, f, 2.3 and then the standard crappy third and fourth cameras that every china OEM seems to want to do: 2, megapixel macro and 2 megapixel depth sensor and because of that density 1000 plus we have one of the fastest shutter speeds on any phone on this realm x7 pro with, as I mentioned, 4k 60fps, video max resolution and a large 32 megapixels, f, 2.5 front camera. So have a look at these samples that I've taken on the Realme x7 pro both video and photos and hit me up in the comments.

What do you think go foreign? So this is rear-facing video on the Realme x7 pro shooting in 4k 30 fps coming to around 6 p. m. Here in Hong Kong, there you see it do a little of walking here, I'm going to pull down my mic, my mic, my mask real, quick, so hear the mics here they sound and hit me up in the comments. What do you think front facing video on the Realme x7 pro shooting in full HD, 30 fps hope you guys are doing well busy week here on Frankie tech man, so many phones to cover, but anyways keep me up in the comments? What do you think- and here we go for some Call of Duty mobile on the Realme x7 pro, and let me show you the graphics settings, and I'm playing on performance mode on this phone there you see it graphic quality, very high and the frame rate will be high? 60 fps is what I can achieve on this phone, and I will also be monitoring the CPU temperature and will be checking at the end of the game, and we're going to play a team death match. Let's get started and guys.

This is very smooth, buttery gameplay here on the Realme x7 pro here we go. Take that booth. Take that, and I'm liking Call of Duty more and more these days. It is definitely a fun and very fast-paced game to play, and now, let's check the CPU temp real, quick, 43 degrees Celsius. Here on the Realme x7 pro: let's continue with the game and there you see the temperature in the room approaching 30 degrees Celsius here, so we're in pretty hot conditions.

Overall there we go. Take that oh yeah, there we go there, we go booth, oh, and he got me with a flamethrower. Oh, man that was brutal. There we go 40 to 45. Can we turn it around here? Oh my gosh, and they got me and I think they're going to take this one guys, and that is it.

We have lost defeat here for the gorilla squad, but now, let's check the final CPU temps, 43 degrees Celsius and this phone is staying relatively cool to the touch the man city 1000 plus is a solid chipset. It is offering you flagship level gaming, with a Mali, g77 mc9 and with a solid audio experience, very immersive, display and really great performance. It may not be 100 an uninterrupted display, but I think this phone rivals the k30 ultra in terms of the gaming experience right here on Call of Duty mobile. So that's it for this video and my final verdict on the Realme x7 pro I'm happy to say this is the first phone from Realme since the Realme x2 pro, where the hype has actually been matched with a terrific device with a great display, solid performance, awesome, audio experience and, I would say, perfect cameras for the price. This real me, x7 pro, is definitely challenging the k30 ultra as one of the ultimate value champs of 2020.

But that being said guys, there are a few things that I think are holding it back, and one of the big ones here is just the build quality. Now I understand phone companies need to use materials that are a bit lower quality, sometimes, but initial impressions make such an impact on a phone, and when I pulled this phone out of its box the other day I just couldn't help but feel that I wasn't using a device that was to the level of what the k30 ultra is offering in terms of build quality. There's just something about this k30 ultra. That makes you feel you're getting an even more premium experience and for an even lower price, and this phone just feels almost a good one or two hundred dollars more expensive than this realm x7 pro, and the other thing I need to mention is the pricing. So when really announced this phone, they did announce a 2199 variant of the realm x7 pro and that one is only 6gb 128 gigs, and so, if you step it up to the 8gb like I did, you are paying 2 500 RMB, which in the end is quite a bit more than what you're paying for the k30 ultra, and so after all, these days of use, I'm very impressed with this Realme x7 pro and while I don't think that it reaches the heights and the amazing ultra value champ status of the k30 ultra, it gets pretty dang close, and it's awesome to see Realme answering back with a great challenger here in the second half of 2020, and it's the first phone that I think I can actually tell you are worth the upgrade from the realm x2 pro.

So if you value a solid display, the fastest zero to 100 charging in its price segment and rock solid performance with this dimension, 1000 plus, then look no further than this realm x7 pro, but hit me up in the comments. What are your thoughts on this Realme x7 pro? Do you think it offers more value than the ultimate value champ of 2020? In my opinion, the k30 ultra hit me up in the comments. I'd love to hear about it, and that's it for this video. If you liked it give me that thumbs up and if you love the content of Frankie tech subscribe to the channel, hit the bell icon for future updates and stay tuned, guys, we're going to go in depth with these two phones. Here, the k30 ultra versus the Realme x7 pro and we'll finally see if this realm x7 pro can hang and maybe even surpass the k30 ultra in a number of sections stay tuned.

So that's it, and this is where I leave you by saying this is Frankie tech signing off have a good one. You.
