Realme GT Review: 2021's Underdog Flagship 5G Smartphone?

Is this a new beginning, a smartphone that, on the first side, has all that it takes to be the perfect budget-friendly flagship. But is this all as good as it seems? Let's inspect hey! Welcome back to the channel. My name is Michael, and I'm so happy to see you around. You know if you look around sometimes, when something gets released, we call it again and again a flagship killer best for the prize best of the year, but here's the deal. We can only expect such awesome products because I do believe that's an awesome product these days to be coming only from the big Chinese brands. Xiaomi have already shown this year what they can do, and it's not only the line, it's Redmi and Poco as well, but there's another huge player that we tend to forget, and they have a premium domestic line.

Opp a premium or at least premium focused international brand called OnePlus and also a budget-oriented set of devices called realm. So you will find a lot of similarities between this realm device and its bigger brothers by OnePlus and opp, which all belong to BBK. Electronics, so if you've never heard of Realme as a brand which in 2021 is highly unlikely, but if that's the case, it's not yet another Chinese garage brand. Now it's actually something designed with a lot of experience and precision, and it's definitely going to get a lot of good, reliable software updates. Let's be fair.

Uh ever since OnePlus abandons the flagship killer space, that's an area which is vacant, and although we can't call this as good as the OnePlus one, I definitely fall into the shoes of the OnePlus one, and probably we can think of Realme as the new budget-friendlier brand, which can produce perfect flagships at a mid-range price and yeah, maybe the OnePlus one, without the startup strategy and without the funky marketing at a price of around 400 bucks. This is the undisputedly the best smartphone based on snapdragon, triple 8 and might be a slightly better package even than the Poco f3. Is it worth buying just keep on watching? So the unboxing came with a few minor surprises, nothing about that was listed on the box which, by the way, looks pretty nice, not much of text or ads to read, which I kinda quite like. We are unboxing here, the more powerful version with 12 gigabytes ram and 256 gigabytes storage. There are two variations, global and Chinese with a lot of one missing google's framework, so be extra, careful where you buy it from if you live in the United States of America think twice because there's limited support for 5g with the major carriers, if you're mostly into 4g, then you should be fine with the international version so inside this pretty box, there's the pack with the papers first.

Actually they got me with this empty side, a screen protector on the other end, it's semi-transparent then comes the charging cable and here's something we haven't seen for a very long time, especially with high-end smartphones. Earphones, yes, with a 3.5 millimeter jack. Just feels great correct me if I'm wrong, but so far this is the only international device with snapdragon triple eight and a pair of old SKU headphones. So I already like the room gt, removing the folio reviews it in its full glory. There are two color variations.

This here is a very interesting choice for the main color. The texture on the back is awesome and that's a phone. You could gladly carry without a case just because of its interesting signature. Of course, if you don't like it, there are plenty of good choices for a non-transparent case. I can't keep calm any more about the specifications.

So let me warn you: most of them are really decent best processor of the year by Qualcomm, but it has its drawbacks configurations with up to 12 gigs of ram up to 256 gigs of ROM, no micro SD slot, though 643 inches, AMOLED, touchscreen, 4 and 500 William hour battery 64 megapixel main camera, leading the triple camera setup on the back, the most wanted and used communication protocols for 2021, including Wi-Fi 6, so pretty much a very badass configuration which covers probably 80 percent of what the OnePlus 9 pro would cover, but there are some corners cuts. No wireless charging just gorilla glass 5 instead of the more durable Vitus, no waterproof rating and a camera setup, which is not among the best you can go for, especially knowing that there is no optical image stabilization. Now, I'm gonna talk about the most important components that people usually look into before buying their next smartphone, and that will be the camera, because these days we don't really have a phone with a camera. It's rather a good camera setup with some phone capabilities. Correct me.

If I'm wrong so inside here uh, there is a triple camera setup, which is led by the 64 megapixel main camera, based on a Sony, mix 682 image sensors, which is a very powerful solution and on the other hand, it's its not the latest and greatest. But since it's been part of some perfect 2020 models, we can be certain that now realm can extract the maximum out of it. I know that for many people the availability of is is important, but I would be quite comfortable even with just electronic image stabilization, something that, if done, the right way could be really decent, but when taking photos here, especially in low light, you're going to have to train your hands to be as steady as possible in order to get the best photos and footage.64 megapixels is quite a thing, so you can count on some really great shots, especially flight is sufficient. The ultra-wide angle, camera is also not to be ignored. It has surprisingly good performance in daytime and, of course, nothing spectacular at night, the micro camera being only 2 megapixels is just there for the marketing, and I wouldn't count on it that much the main camera can provide a lot better photos.

You can get good results even for macro, with some post-processing and cropping. The video part is quite interesting too having no optical image stabilization. I had some concerns about the shakiness and the effectiveness of the software stabilization, but you can see for yourself that it's not bad, not bad at all. I also found the camera app to be lightweight yet functional. That's a good feeling giving you confidence that you're going to get consistent and very good shots.

The front camera is just fine. A bit older sensor is used here as well, and sadly, no stabilization applied, not even software based. So that's clearly a drawback after exploring the camera setup, which obviously is pretty good, but not absolutely great. Now we dive into the next section, which I believe most people would really ask about, and that would be the battery compartment showing you that this phone is rather thin. So that's true, we don't have a huge battery inside.

Obviously, here Realme counts on superfast charging combined with very well battery optimized operating system. OnePlus have does charge here. It's called super dart, but speed is not much different. Room promised that getting the phone fully charged is going to take around 35 minutes and that's correct. It's just ridiculous amount of time, and I'd easily, forgive even the minor battery drains that the not too battery friendly software has but fun fact.

A 400 dollar phone beats the sh out of the galaxy s21 ultra, which needs around an hour and a half to get his battery back to full, but the Realme gt can not offer any wireless charging. If that's an important for you feature now we're going to cover the rest of the components. While we make a software walkthrough, you can check the display first scrolling and menu navigation is exceptional as smooth as it could be on a pixel device with some bitterness. I have to admit that it's much better than the scrolling on my current daily driver, the m11 ultra colors on the screen are somewhat pale and if you open a white screen and look from an angle, there's a reddish tint notable reminding you where part of the price difference to the true flagships comes from. If you wonder how the gaming experience feels, let me show you right away.

It's good, but not great. Luckily, there's an exclusive game space applet, which lets you quickly, control the settings and also to know the current performance. I'm not entirely sure. If that applies for all games and weather is going to change with some firmware updates, but at this point it looks like all the games are capped at 60 frames per second maximum, so there is not much of use for the 120hz mode unless you want super smooth scrolling experience. As for the sound here's a sample, clearly, the frequency response is limited, but gosh.

This speaker is loud everything else. I've tried on the phone worked. Fine super quick storage, although the USB 2.0 standard is a bit of a bottleneck for the transfers, in-display fingerprint scanner blazing fast and accurate good connectivity, excellent wireless speeds and hey that's supposed to be a phone at the end of the day, so phone quality, it's fantastic. The international version of room gt, as you can see, comes with Google dialer, which, in my honest opinion, is probably one of the worst choices when it comes to a dual sim enabled smartphone, because it's dual sim capabilities are pretty poor, and you don't have too many features, it's very bad when you have to switch between sim cards and in order to compensate that and also to get call recording, because you know if you're based in the EU, there are a lot of regulations and restrictions that obviously google have to follow, and they imply that on other vendors and so on, it's a long story, but I found that ACR dialer app has perfect co-recording implemented. It can effectively replace google dialer and no.

This is not a sponsored post. The android skin used here, and the interface is simple clean and the smoothness achieved by realm is fantastic. So if you really consider this gt model to be your next phone, it is, in my opinion, 2021's underROG flagship, remarkable hardware pack featuring the best android soc of the year. The great 120 hertz display, however, hindered in terms of colors and accuracy limited refresh rate, while gaming there's not too big battery, but you can fully charge it in just 35 minutes. Amazing camera.

If you don't need iPhone like low light performance and telephoto shots, and due to the plastic case throttling with the anyways hot snapdragon, triple eight is going to occur more often, but that only if you're a passionate gamer just make sure you won't drop it in water and keep it away from sun and dust, and I'm pretty sure, you're going to be more than happy with what this 400 device could offer quite unique design and even hands-free included. You clearly can't go wrong with this body if the idea is to stay focused on the best essentials, so I'm going to leave it up to you to decide whether this is the best choice of the year and whether it is better than OnePlus, word 2 or Poco f3 or any other flagship or flagship wannabe you can think of, and you would kindly share in the comment section below, because the more ideas we have, the better the options are and always having the ability to choose from many perfect devices is great, but so far from what I'm seeing really this full package based on snapdragon triple a 64 megapixel camera, the headphone jack and the flagship grade charging speed. I don't think there's going to be something really beating the Realme gt anytime soon, but we can agree to disagree, because I know that everybody has a different opinion feel free to share yours in the comment section below. As usual, some discounts in the description area link to the product more info, and I hope to stay in touch therefore subscribe to the channel. Give us a like if you think that we deserve it.

I'm Michael. I look forward to seeing you in the next episodes bye. You.
