realme 8 Pro - Unboxing

Hi there it's ukase for the tech travel geeks, and today I'm unboxing the realm 8 pro smartphones. It's a very exciting one for me, as I've never owned a realm device before so make sure to stick around and if you haven't already make sure to subscribe to the tech travel geeks for more content from us covering this and other devices, it comes in a bright yellow box with a big 8 pro at the center of it, both at the front and the sides. There are also some key specs listed at the back of the box, but we'll discuss them a bit later. Let's open it up, then! Oh, it's always so satisfying inside at the front of the equally yellow accessories package. We get a lovely welcome to the realm family. It's really nice to be welcome inside that we got a sim ejector tool which will come in handy later on some usual paperwork, a quick start guide in a few languages and the safety guide which I'll definitely read.

End-To-End, there's also a slightly darkened CPU case, which should get me started before flip cases become widely available. However, the one thing I noticed after filming and editing most of this video was that the case is really tight, as in it takes a lot of effort. To put it in it took me quite a few tries, and it only seems to fit in when you put it on from the bottom. Luckily, once you do it, it works fine. So it's just a bit of a heads-up for you.

Next we get the phone itself, but we'll discuss it in just a moment. Underneath it, we get one of the selling points of this device, a 65 watt charger, which is quite amazing for this price point, it's quite a big one and is using realm super dart technology, similar to ones used by its sister brands, like OPPO's took chargers, the phone limits, the charging input to 50 watt, but it should still charge the 4500 William hour battery to 50 in just 17 minutes, which is amazing. We also get the USB cable, which will get the phone charged for you quickly or help you transfer some data to a computer and, finally, the phone itself. It had a sticker on the back, so let's get rid of it. I got the infinite black version, as it was the only one available on Amazon, but there are other colors available elsewhere.

The first thing that jumps out straight away is the huge dare to leave slogan written in all capitals on the back. It's definitely attracting attention so be prepared that you'll be making a statement with it. The back is textured with a slightly different texture on the text, and it also nicely reflects the light. So it's quite interesting. The good thing is that the back won't keep any fingerprints which can be good if you don't use a case.

The next thing I noticed was the camera system arranged in four symmetrical circles, reminding me a bit of a kitchen stove top. We will discuss the camera specs a bit later, but the camera bump isn't too big in this case. What's also very noticeable is how light and thin the device is weighing just 176 grams. It's indeed very light. Probably thanks to its plastic back and frame the front exposes the other highlight of this device.

The 6.4 inch super AMOLED screen it's one of the main reasons why I got this device, so I hope it performs well. Let me switch it on for a moment to see what it looks like with the AMOLED technology. We should expect darker blacks and great color reproduction. The panel has a 1080 by 2400 pixel, full HD plus resolution with an aspect ratio of 20 to 9, so it should provide some cinematic viewing experiences if you want to watch some Netflix or Disney plus. However, the screen is limited at 60 hertz, refresh rate, so it won't be as fast and fluid as some of its competitors.

The top and side bezels are quite small, but I have to say that the bottom one is a bit larger than usual. The front facing camera is situated in the top left corner of the screen and is a 16 megapixel one with f 2.5 aperture. The screen also includes an in-screen optical fingerprint scanner. I'm looking forward to testing it out as the last few phones. I got had side mounted ones instead, we'll see how well this one performs soon.

Looking at the back of this device, there's some good news in addition to USB-C. It also supports the carriage port or 3.5 millimeter headphone jack, which is still great to see. There's also a single bottom facing speaker and the microphone too bad that there's no stereo speakers or a FM radio here. But you can't have everything on the right. There's, just a volume rocker and the power button, this one without any color accents.

On the left hand, side you'll find the dual sim and micro SD card slot. So it's good to see that you can have both two sim cards and still expand the included 128 gigabytes of storage with extra memory speaking of specifications, the phone is powered by Qualcomm snapdragon 720 gig chipsets, which is a mid-range processor announced in early 2020. It's the same one as the one used in realm 7 pro, as well as the Samsung Galaxy a52, which Mattel recently unboxed on our channel as well I'll, have to see how well it performs, but it should definitely be fast enough for daily tasks and some gaming as well. My model comes with 8 gigabytes of memory, which is great to see, but there's also a 6 gigabyte version available in some markets. Similarly, depending on the market you may or may not have NFC enabled.

However, the chipset doesn't have a 5g radio so make sure to keep that in mind. The software running on realm 8 pro is android 11 using the realm UI 2.0 software distribution. We will discuss the software experience and setup in a separate video in the next few days, so make sure to check it out. Finally, let's discuss the cameras. The headline is the 108 megapixel main sensor, the same as the one in Xiaomi's Redmi Note.10 pro will definitely be doing a comparison of the two devices, including their cameras, so stay tuned, there's also an ultrawide lens, which is great to see as it allows you to take more varied photos in different situations. There's also a macro camera, unfortunately, of the 2 megapixel variant, so I'm not expecting the best results, as well as a 2 megapixel depth sensor to top it off.

Overall, the performance of the camera system should be good, but I'll need some time to review it properly. That's it for this video we'll continue with more videos about the realm 8 pro, including a setup video soon and comparison with some other devices so make sure to check back soon, but for now, thanks for watching.
