realme 8 5G VS Redmi Note 10 5G Comparison Review

Hey guys Justin here of fintech, so today, let's talk about the Realme 85g and the Xiaomi Redmi Note, 10 5g, these two popular, affordable, 5g, ready smartphones can pass up as mid-range devices with their design and highly capable hardware. We already made separate reviews on them before, but with its similar looking specs. I know it's still hard to tell which one to go for, so we'll lay it all out for you, and we hope this video can help you decide firmly, which one to finally choose. Let's start by talking about their design, the realm, 85g and Redmi. Note 10 5g are both constructed with plastic, but we like how they're built in such a way that you can't really tell if they're, plastic or glass, although, as you can see, the two phones have their own distinguishable design. The realm 85g has a curved glass stick back.

That gives off a slight light effect when moved towards different angles. Meanwhile, the Redmi Note 10 5g has a smooth frosted back, both of which have protruding rear camera modules on the upper left. Meanwhile, Realme gives an illusion of having four lenses when it really has a 3. Like the Redmi Note, 10 5g, oh by the way, a realm unit is in the supersonic blue color. While our Redmi unit comes in graphite, gray up front, the two phones have similar 6.5 inches full HD plus lcds with slim bezels and slightly thicker chin parts. You can easily identify them with their punch hole notch placements.

Real me has it on the upper left, while Redmi's front cam is placed on the upper middle part. I don't know about you, but personally we prefer the selfie camera placed on the upper corner like in the realm 85g, since it's less distracting for protection, realm has a glass layer, while Redmi is filled with gorilla glass 3 on top, thankfully, both have screen protectors, pre-installed already on the right side, you can find their power buttons that doubles as fingerprint scanners. You can also find here the volume rocker for the Redmi Note 10 5g now located on the left side are the respective card slots. Real me has a triple card tray, while Xiaomi has a hybrid setup, you'll. Also find here the Realme 85gs of volume buttons.

The top part is bare for real me. While Redmi gets an IR blaster together with its 3.5 millimeter headphone jack heading over to the bottom, you'll find their own loudspeakers USB type c, ports main microphones and the headphone jack for the realm 85g. We do prefer having the audio port located at the bottom as it's more convenient when playing games or streaming videos, but all in all for design. Both phones have solid builds with their own design language. We have our own preferences here, but if you'll ask us we'd pick Realme because it looks more versatile, and it's glossy back is easier to wipe off some smudges when it comes to display these two phones almost have identical full HD, plus 6.5 inches screens, with a 90hz refresh rate option. What sets them apart is that you'll notice right away how the realm 85g has better outdoor visibility than the Redmi Note 105g, and that's because realm has a max brightness of 600 nits.

While Redmi goes up to 500 nits. You can also see that the realm 85g provides sharper details and slightly more vibrant colors. The Redmi Note 10 5g falls more on cooler tones, while realm falls more on warmer tones. They both have advanced, dark mode features. Redmi allows you to schedule and adjust the background automatically to its dark mode.

While realm lets you choose, if you want the deep black or enhanced mode, the medium style or the gentle style. If you don't like that full-blown dark mode, the two phones also offer different color modes in the settings. But, additionally, you can turn on the OSI visual effect for the realm 85g to enhance colors and picture quality with AI for supported apps. So, for this play, it's pretty clear that the realm 85g stands out now talk about audio quality, their down firing loudspeakers. Can both averagely get loud enough for a small room.

You can expect crisp quality from both with the Redmi Note, 10 5g being able to get a tad bit louder than the other software wise both run on android 11 skinned with their own launchers. That's really UI 2.0 for well Realme and mini 12 for Redmi. These familiar skins look different from each other, but they sure are highly customizable. Realm UI's interface looks fun, while Redmi's mid i12 gives off a minimal look. Both have an app drawer option: gesture navigation, digital well-being, app clone and floating window features.

One thing that you might be interested in, though, is taking advantage of the Redmi Note, 10 5g's IR blaster, which the realm 85g doesn't have either way just like design. We all have our own preferences when it comes to software, so we'll leave it to you guys, but personally we do prefer mini 12's clean, looking interface, although considering that realm has a more vibrant screen, we'd most likely choose it in this category. Alright, moving on to performance, as most of you already know, powering these two devices is a MediaTek dementid700 chip, together with a Mali, g57, GPU and eight gigabytes of ram the Redmi Note.10 5g also has 4 gigabytes of ram variant, which is the one we have while realm is expected to release 4 gigabytes of ram variants. Soon now the 5g ready, MediaTek density 700 is a perfect budget. Processor, that's capable of providing mid-range performance.

You can enjoy the benefits of 5g, of course, and it runs smoothly with casual tasks such as messaging social media browsing and video streaming. As long as you keep the device optimized, these two phones can also handle heavy games, but it can be a slightly laggy experience, so we suggest playing under the lowest graphic settings available and take advantage of their game space and game turbo apps. If you want to see some numbers we'll flash. The benchmarks course now, as for storage locally, both are available with 128 gigabytes of internal storage. That's expandable via a micro SD card.

Do take note, though, that Realme has a dedicated micro SD card slot. While Redmi has a hybrid setup for biometric security, you can unlock both devices via face unlock and their side mounted fingerprint scanners integrated in their power buttons. Their face recognition responds right away, most of the time with Realme having a quicker reaction. On the other hand, their fingerprint scanners are quick and reliable. With again the realm 85g performing faster moving forward.

If battery is your concern, then there's no need to fret. As the realm 85g and the Redmi Note, 10 5g has the same large 5000mah batteries with 18 watts fast charging. The usual charging time for both is 2rs, which is already fast enough for their large battery capacities when we ran them through the PC Mark's battery test, and through our standard video loop test. Surprisingly, it seems like the rookie 85g has more power efficient internals as we get more rs compared to the Redmi Note 105g. So as much as the two phones can.

Last you a whole day with moderate use and even a little gaming again Realme takes the cake in this segment. Something more interesting in these devices is their cameras on paper both have the same triple camera configuration with a 48 megapixel main a 2 megapixel macro and a 2 megapixel depth sensor. Meanwhile, for selfies, the realm 85g stands out with a 16 megapixel front shooter, while the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 5g packs an 8, megapixel selfie camera. Looking at these first two photos that were taken with their AIs turned off the two seemingly have a natural vibe on them, with Realme having more details and shadows. However, in this case the Redmi Note, 10 5g looks closer to the actual scenario.

Now, here's an outdoor shot of a caf? inspired by a famous K-pop group. You know who I'm talking about anyways. In this case, their respective AIs are still turned off, and we get a bit of a gloomy weather. They almost have the same color production, but if I'll nitpick, it seems like real me, did a better job in capturing the clouds now turning their AI modes on from the get-go realm did an amazing job with the dynamic range here, the Redmi Note, 10 5g captured an overblown sky, but overall, with a more saturated shot in these next photos, we used their own 48 megapixel cameras. While these two phones really have distinctive colors Realme falls more on sharp, vibrant and cooler hues, while Redmi leans more towards natural, looking shots with warmer tones, but as much as Redmi looks more natural in these photos.

Realistically, realm did a closer photo to the actual scenario here and since these are captured with their high-res 48 megapixel lenses, you get those extra details with Realme providing sharper bits. So these two phones don't have ultra-wide options, but they can zoom in from 3 times 5 times and up to 10 times. But if you want better zoom details, then we suggest that you use their 48 megapixel cameras instead and simply crop the photos. As for macro, photography, both have pretty good subject, background separation and in this case Redmi has more boosted colors, but still has tendencies to get overexposed areas. Realm, on the other hand, did a better job with the colors, but seemingly still falls on cooler tones.

Taking a look at these night photos without any night mode turned on both photos looked noisy, but Redmi provided a little more brightness when we turned their night modes. On the Redmi Note, 10 5g gave more boost but resulted in a more grainy shot. Realm nonetheless managed to show more details with less noise checking out some selfies. We honestly favor Realme 16 megapixel front camera, as Redmi often gives us pale looking colors, especially on the skin tone. You can also notice how Realme shows a wider range compared to Redmi, and it's the same case for portrait mode when it comes to color production.

But if we're talking about the depth effect, Xiaomi did a better job. In separating the subject. From the background plus the Redmi Note, 10 5g allows you to change the blur style in post. Now. With these photos, we can say that Realme is also better in capturing rookies as like I mentioned it, has a wider range and more favorable colors when it comes to videos you'll be able to shoot up to 1080p at 30 frames per second on both phones, but Realme has an ultra steady mode option on board.

In these cases, wherein I'm walking with the two phones handheld, you can see that the Redmi Note 10 5g can have some warp looking effect while the realm 85g looks smoother, but for some reasons the greens and orange look pale. So after looking at their sample photos and videos, it's safe to say that Realme takes the crown for cameras. In most cases, we favor its vibrant colors and very good dynamic range plus having that video stabilization is a real steal. Okay, before I conclude this video, we have to talk about their prices. First, the realm 85g has a SRP of 11990 pesos, and it comes with 8 gigabytes of ram and 128 gigabytes of storage, but we're glad to let you guys know that it's 4 gigabytes, plus 128 gigabytes version will be available locally soon.

Then, on the other hand, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 5g is now available in two variants: that's 11 490 pesos for the 8 gigabytes, plus 128 gigabytes version and 9990 pesos for the 4 gigabytes, plus 128 gigabyte configuration. If we're talking about performance and 5g connectivity, then you'll have no problem with those between the two, but when we assess their prices for what they offer as a daily driver. If you watch the whole video, then I'm sure you'd agree with me that the realm 85g is a clear winner. In this comparison. We think that the extra cash you'll spend on it is worth it for its long-lasting battery great set of cameras vivid display and not to mention it has a triple card tray for two Nana sim cards and a micro SD card.

But nonetheless, if you're on a tighter budget, then you can get the four gigabytes plus 128 gigabytes version of the Redmi Note 10 5g. With this you get a close performance to the realm 85g, with the additional feature of having an IR blaster but yeah. All in all, the realm 85g is the practical choice here. If you're interested in buying your own realm 85g, we'll put the link in the description box, or you can check it out through realm's physical stores nationwide, there are nearly 600 realm concept stores in kiosks present, as well as over 4 000 partner dealers. So yeah, I'm going to pass the question to you now: are you team, realm, 85g or team Redmi? Note 10 5g? Let us know in the comments below and share your thoughts with us.
