It's time to dive into 5G. And yes, you're correct guys. The Realme 8 is right now 5G ready. Are you ready? Let's go unbox it. (introduction music) - 5G. Realme 8 5G.
Welcome to the Realme family. SIM ejector pin. User guide. Warranty cards. Jelly case.
Realme 8 5G.18W fast charger. Charging cable USB type-C. Really nice color we have here. And this is the supersonic blue. We have the loudspeaker, USB type-C, microphone, and your audio jack.
We have the power button/ fingerprint scanner. On top, it's clean. You have your SIM tray and your volume rocker. At the rear, you have your camera. So hi guys! I'm Richmond.
And welcome back to my channel. We're holding right now in my hands is the all new... Well, probably improved version of Realme 8. And this is the Realme 8 5G. It's capable to run 5G signal, receive 5G signal, and for us to get 5G internet.
And, well, our networks are slowly rolling out like Globe, Smart, and GOMO. I'm not sure with TnT. Smart, and of course TM. I'm sure probably they don't have 5G networks yet. And DITO is still trying to roll out their 5G signal.
So later we'll try out the 5G signal on this phone. Let's see if this phone can receive 5G well or... Well, just your regular 4G phone, this Realme 8 5G. Now guys, like I said, this phone is 5G ready. It's packed with the MediaTek Dimensity 700 5G.
And I can tell you guys that it's one of the latest of MediaTek. And we want to look at its AnTuTu Benchmark if its score is good. And it gathered 360,000 points for me in the AnTuTu Version 9.0.10. It's of course a very welcoming score. When it comes to its AITUTU, it's not that high.
It's only 28,000 points. I was kind of amazed of its score in 3DMark, on the Wild Life. It got 1,106, which means this phone can game. And definitely we want to know its Widevine Security Level. It's Level 1.
And it means we can watch HD on this phone. So guys, its RAM got kind of upgraded. It has 8GB of RAM, 128GB of storage. And right now, its microSD slot is dedicated which means you can use this to the fullest. Two Nano SIM plus a microSD slot.
You can fully use this. It's not hybrid. It's worth it. Now guys, this phone has a 6.5-inch FHD+ display. IPS LCD.
And what's nice about it is it's got 90Hz screen refresh rate and 180Hz touch sampling rate. Definitely it's going to be nice for gaming, its touching sampling rate. And of course, the 90Hz screen refresh rate is definitely very welcoming to the eyes, because it's very very buttery smooth. And what I like about it is its 90.5% screen-to-body ratio which means its design is almost bezel-less. And together with it, it's got a maximum brightness of 600 nits which means it's okay.
When I look at it, it's really bright under the sun. I haven't had any difficulties with it, especially under the direct sunlight. That was my main basis. When you have a hard time reading under the sunlight, it's kind of a failure for me. But if it's okay, if I can read it under the direct sunlight, I approve of the screen.
And this one just passed my test. So of course, we want to try watching some videos on this phone. And I can tell you its display is nice. Its screen is almost bezel-less.90.5% is its screen-to-body ratio. Definitely the whole screen is yours, except its punch hole on the upper left.
It's a little bit big compared to other phones. Its punch hole is definitely is a little bit annoying for me, because the display is kind of missing in that side. Of course, sometimes you want to see some things there especially on gaming. It plays a role when you have a big punch hole, because there's some portion of the screen that you're not seeing. But overall, its viewing angle, I can tell you by watching some videos here, I've enjoyed on it.
And definitely I have no problem on it when watching videos on Netflix, watching videos on YouTube. It's bright, it's sharp, it's quite good to watch on this phone. So guys, let's go to the gaming on this phone. I can tell you when I'm playing Call of Duty, it's nice. And of course, its viewing angle is big.
Well, its gameplay is enjoyable, especially... It's almost... It's not that... Its frame drops are not that noticeable. The gameplay is smooth.
I was able to enjoy this for roughly 1 1/2 hour. And of course, right now... There are times that this phone is kind of heating up when I'm playing above 30 minutes playing Call of Duty. But, I have a Realme cooler. We put it in the back and it gave it a little bit of a temperature drop while playing the game.
it's definitely okay to have that kind of attachment. And having hat finger sleeve while playing the game is also helping, especially if your fingers have calluses or if your fingers are oily, there's boogers on it. Well, it's better to wear sleeves on your fingers. This Realme finger sleeve. It's a winner.
Overall, my gameplay, I can tell you guys that it's good. I didn't have any problems. Frame drops are minimal and the gameplay is very much enjoyable. Maybe the one thing missing on this one are the stereo sounds where I don't feel it that much. Because it's just got single speakers on the bottom.
And probably that's the only downside that I can tell in the gameplay. But of course you can always put on your headphones, your favorite headset so that you'll enjoy immersively this game or even other games. So guys, let's discuss its camera. This one has a triple camera setup.48MP nightscape camera, 2MP macro lens, and 2MP depth sensor. In front of it, it has 60MP beauty camera.
Let's take a look at some shots that I got from this phone. So guys, let's evaluate the camera performance of this phone. I can tell you that the outdoor shots are good using the rear camera. There are times that it gets kind of blurry, or it gets pixelated a bit. Maybe if the lighting's lacking, it'll fail a little bit.
But if you give it a good lighting, I can tell you that this camera can perform. Of course, you cannot compare this to the Realme 8 Pro that has 108MP. I get better shots on the Realme 8 Pro. This one I can tell you that it's a budget phone that has 5G capability plus good camera. On the Realme 8 Pro, it has a better, definitely a better camera.
Of course, if you want better photography shots, I recommend you to get the Realme 8 Pro. I can tell you that you'll definitely get better shots there. But on this phone, outdoor shots are good, indoor shots are good. And we've tried getting some nightscape shots. I can tell you that it's okay.
The nigh mode of this one was able to take in some good shots. But definitely there's a bit of grains, but Realme improved it making the nightscape shots a lot better compared to their other versions. And on the selfie camera on this one, I can tell you that the shots are good. It's very natural. There are times that I notice that my face is flawless on this phone.
I haven't configured anything yet on this one. I just set it on default out of the box. I've just shoot pictures on this one, and I can tell you... What a handsome man. (laughter) Legit.
So guys, we've tested 5G signals using this phone on Globe, Smart, GOMO, and DITO. It didn't received any because it's just giving out 4G only.4G LTE. And I was able to get some good speeds. Legit good speeds. It's not the ones that we're seeing where it's 800Mbps.
We still can't achieve that in the Philippines. Not because the phone can't do it, but it's because our networks can't handle it yet. So take note, the signal has nothing to do with the phone itself. Guys, this phone has two awesome colors. Supersonic blue and supersonic black.
Of course, I want the blue more. The color is very youthful compared to the classic black. Of course, how about you? What is your choice? So guys, we've now fully tackled the Realme 8 5G. And I can tell you this phone is definitely very light as compared to the earlier version, the Realme 8. And it's 5G capable, its camera is good.
And its battery life is very durable. So if you want to know where you can buy this phone, I'll drop it in the description box below.
