RAZER Phone Unboxing & Impressions After 24 Hrs By Marc The Geek

Hey guys, the MARTA geek in this video I have an unboxing and hands-on look of the latest phone from Racer. Yes, Racer is the company that do video game laptops and desktops and gaming video game keyboards and Mouse's, so they decided now to create a smartphone which is also intended to be for gaming as well, and here it is I just got it yesterday and let's go ahead and do an unboxing now keep in mind. I already did unbox just the phone, because I was going to work, and I said you know what I can't wait for 8 hours or more before I get off, and you know I decided to go ahead and do my initial setup I installed the applications that I wanted, so that now I could go ahead and turn on the phone and show you guys right away how this phone actually works. Now here is a little letter there. If you want to pause the video, you can read a little message there from the racer phone company, and it's pretty cool, but let's go ahead. Put this to the side.

Here we have the smartphone, which I got to put it right there, but before we keep on going of course, I want to show you guys. What's inside, I guess a very nice box here is this SIM card pen right there, which we're gonna use in a second, so you guys can have an idea how the SIM card works here and, of course, here you got some instruction manuals, and you also have some Racer stickers as well and, of course, instruction manuals there in this box we have, let's see I, haven't opened the other boxes at all. The only box I opened was that one just to put my sim card in the phone okay, we got that right there and this okay. This is a USB adapter, ? 3.5, millimeter headphone, just because this smartphone does not have a headphone jack, so they decide to go ahead and throw in a THX certified DAC, which is really cool, and supposedly it is well upgraded that way. You're going to get even better sound than normal adapters that you can find in the stores.

So this one is not just a normal adapter for headphones and, let's see what's in this box, okay here you got your charging cable, which is braided. Like you see, then it's braided here I believe if that was the cable. This is the adapter, the power adapter there you go. Look at that and the power adapter actually has the logo for a razor right. There really cool, that's very nice and remember: you should always use this adapter if you actually want to get the fast charging speed, because this phone actually has fast charging speed.

But of course you have to use that adapter, but luckily is actually included in the Box Elizabeth. What this everything back in here, okay- so here now with the smartphone, is going to take out this smartphone right here without breaking the plastic there you go, that's why it was so easy to put back together, because actually there was no plastic on this smartphone at all. There was nothing on it, so I didn't have to peel off anything. So I guess you guys were not missing anything at all. So here it is.

This is the razor smartphone from the company razor and, like you see here in the back, have you seen the laptops from razor? They are all aluminum, and they have the racer logo here and the smartphone. It's basically the same as the laptops. This is all aluminum, so it actually feels really really really high-end build quality I'm here in the back, you have the racer logo. Now, if you were lucky enough to get a special edition, one, the racer logo would actually be like the neon green racer logos. It's I think it's like that neon green right there, which would have been amazing, but sadly it was limited quantity.

So, by the time I pre-order the phone it was already sold out. So here, lets going to show you guys a couple of things hear hear, you got the volume buttons right there. Like you see there, you got the right there over here. You have nothing over here in the bottom. You have the USB port right there, which I, like I, said it has fast charging in the front.

Furthermore, you have two front facing speakers which is actually Dolby Atmos certified or compatible, which is amazing. They sound incredible and over here on the side. You have this button right here, which is also a sensor, a fingerprint sensor as well. Now right here, look at this. Even the pen, even the pen right here, actually says razor, which is awesome and so ya guys can see that I actually have my sim card in it.

There you go there, you go so there goes your NATO SIM card right there, and I can see right there. You can actually put a micro SD card and the micro SD card can be up to two terabytes. That's not bad! Considering that this Mart phone is actually 64 gigabytes of internal storage. Now this court in turn it on. So you guys can have an idea how this looks when it turns on it's gonna press and hold the go, and those are the nice-looking logo there, which looks pretty damn cool, and it's going to have like a little animation as well, which looks incredible, looks, looks cool.

You know my opinion looks pretty. Damn cool got the razor there and now right now it asks me for a password or a key or pin, pin, because I added the security that, if you turn on your phone from boot, you can actually require you to put a pin that way. It makes it a little more secure, that's something that you're going to be able to do when you actually turn on your smartphone for the first time, you're going to register your pin your PIN to use you're also going to register your fingerprints, and that's it that right. There is an option that you have. You don't have to do it, but it's a good option to have and there it is.

This is the razor smartphone which actually looks pretty damn awesome I like the way it looks. This right here is actually a 5.7 inch, LCD screen, which is 2560 by 1440, which makes it quite HD. And, of course, what's the huge seller point of this Mart phone is that the screen is actually a hundred twenty Hertz. Normally every smartphone out there in the market is around 60 Hertz and there are some devices like, for example, the new iPads are actually 120 Hertz. Those are pretty damn cool so right here, where you go to display, and you're going to refresh rate, you have these options right there by default, when you first op it opens this smartphone of, or you first launched it.

It's actually going to be at 90 Hertz right there, but if you want to get the most out of it, just go ahead and put 120, but keep in mind a lot of games. They still don't use that hurts, but it makes the phone a lot more fluid when you're navigating around and all that- and of course you know it has a 1440p where you can switch at any time to 1080p. If you prefer that and you want to like save a little more battery life, this smartphone actually has four thousand William hour battery, which should give you enough battery time for the whole day. I'll, keep in mind, I've only been using it for like less than 24 hours and so far it has been pretty good when it comes to the battery, and it charges really really really fast. Now, of course, the other seller point of the smartphone is that a has 8 gigabytes of RAM compared to the galaxy s 8 plus, which I've been using.

That is, you know double the RAM. Like you see right here, you can see the Geek bench, the specs right there. It has the latest Snapdragon 835, which is the same Snapdragon CPU that you find on the galaxy. No, the V 30, the S Plus, the pixel, the new pixel, but this one has eight gigabytes of RAM, which is amazing, and I did do you know. I did do a couple benchmarks: I'm, not gonna, do benchmarks right here, but right there, you can have an idea of all the results of the benchmarks and single core multi-core.

My opinion, not that impressive, considering that this has master specs right there here in video. Let me compute I see they're not bad there and if you want to see the an tutu benchmark s-- that way, you know that way. We have a smartphone. You can actually compare this results right there, 175 429, that's that's really impressive there. So yeah I did do a couple gaming here, and it actually feels really, really good every game that I played on this smartphone I haven't experienced any pix elation or graphic tearing or anything like that.

Sometimes, with a lot of these games, you do notice that I'm, smart, some smartphones, even on the galaxy s, 8 plus sometimes I- do notice on playing some intense games. They you, you can see some pickle, a pix elation here and there, but in this smartphone everything should be very, very smooth and, of course, one of the most selling points of this device is the front-facing speakers. You know it has an amazing front facing these figures there, and it has. Let me go ahead here to Dolby Atmos app, because this smartphone, what I really like as well, is that it has right here, notification right here, the Dolby logo, and you can actually choose basically equalizer settings for movie music game voice and custom one custom two- and this is basically the app that's actually doing all that right here. But you know I'm going to go ahead and show you guys this demos, this demo, and I'm going to shut up put it.

So you guys can enjoy this video and sign there. You have it so, like you see they're very awesome sample that it has right there. You don't actually have to download these applications. It comes automatically there. It's just right there in the after all, but you can actually navigate that right here in the notification panel, which is really cool.

Furthermore, it has that Dolby logo right there and when you tap on it let's say: you're going to play some video game, just tap right there boom and when you check on it, you see there it's actually in gaming. So that's really them awesome right now, normally I leave it at music or movie I'm. Here notification, you got these. You know you got this the flashlight right there you guys do not disturb airplane mode cast. You have the.

If you have like Chromecast in your home, automatically recognizes it, and you got of course hotspot, which is remembered. This is a GSM smartphone, so you can actually use this smartphone with T-Mobile AT&T any carrier. That's a GSM carrier, sadly, is not compatible with Verizon or Sprint, which kind of sucks for a lot of people out there. But out of the box, I really like when you turn on the smartphone on that the operating system or the skin that it has is actually Nova, Launcher and Nova. Launcher is really, really customizable, for example, this down gesture.

That was me, I, actually customized that using the nova launcher settings this right here. You know you got this, and you got this right here. You actually add all that using the custom settings here and the nova launcher right here. So this, if you use nova launcher before you're gonna, be very, very familiar. Rising if you haven't used it, I recommend going to the Google Play Store on your smartphone download it.

So you have an idea how this smartphone works out of the box. When you first get this phone out of the box, there's nothing installed. Only the basic applications like these right here. These applications are the ones that are actually starting on the phone on any also has three games. It has tightened form gear club and of tank I.

Don't know why he had those three gains, but it had those three games. Everything else that you see here, I actually downloaded, so I can, you know, play around with the smartphone and test how it feels with the graphics and all that, and it actually feels perfect. It also has a razor being team application which lets you download themes, gaming themes, razor themes, and that will basically it basically does- is customized your smartphone. It customizes the application and also customizes the dialer as well. So, if you put like a different theme, the dialer wouldn't actually look different and, of course, this is running.

The latest 7.1.1 operating system, which is nougat in not the latest one, is Oreo but Oreo I'm, pretty sure that this smartphone is actually going to get Oreo later on in the future. Another thing to keep in mind is that this phone- it actually did get an update right today, even when I first turn on the smartphone today, it actually got an update okay. So this right here is a screenshot of the update that was installed right before I made. This video I say improvement to Dolby, Atmos, audio improvement, ? battery life, updated ringtone and wallpaper, and various bug fixes now that I read that it's true the wallpaper. This right here had a different wallpaper and this wallpaper was the one that was added as the default wallpaper when you turn on the smartphone.

But in reality, if you just got this smartphone, you might not get this wallpaper. So you're going to have to walk on, upgrade your phone and then the wallpaper that actually comes with the phone will be disappeared. You're not gonna, find it anywhere here, because it was here, it was an option, but now it's not even an option which it's cool because it sucked it was a sucky wallpaper there, but it does come with a couple of wallpapers here and like, for example, you could put this wallpaper there and look how cool it looks. It looks pretty. Damn awesome has a very nice coloring and all that on the screen.

It's gonna change back I, actually like the new wallpaper, was added with the update that I just received this morning, which is really, really cool. Now, of course, this smartphone actually has two cameras in the back and both of them. Both of the cameras are 12 megapixels. Both it has a flash right there. If I'm not mistaken, one of them actually gives you wide picture and the other one actually gives you like a better soon.

I think that's what it is like I said: I haven't played that much with the cameras again and with the smartphone in the front. You actually have an 8 megapixel camera right there. Also, if you want to like fast launch the camera, you can actually double tap right here, the fingerprint scanner or the fingerprint button right there, and it automatically launches the camera, which is cool. Another cool thing to know is that when the fingerprint is perfect I like the position of the fingerprint being right there, because it just feels natural, you know that's the home-buying that you know actually serves as a fingerprint as well. But of course, this smartphone also has the double tap right there to see the screen to wake up the phone that you have to actually have to go to the settings and just look for the gesture section and just activate it, and you have that feature right.

There I am, or should also add this one right here, because, if I'm holding it with my left hand, this is the finger that's there, so it totally makes sense to just you know, put this finger there, and I registered this finger, and you know for me a way that it opens up. The phone is really, really fast, really impressed. So, of course, the negative thing so far about the smartphone is that it doesn't have a headphone jack but of course, I've been using Bluetooth and in the car. I can also use the speaker's of the smartphone because it actually sounds really really really damn good and really loud as well. The camera app is this one right here, which honestly is really simple.

It's really simple! You take pictures right there. If you want to take a picture right there, that's it. If you want to switch to video, you just swipe, and it switches to video there keep in mind actually records at 1080p as well, but, like I, said, I haven't tried or tested the quality at all. I've heard that the quality is not that good, and you know I, wouldn't be surprised about that here in settings. Of course, you can go ahead and switch from 12 all the way down to 4.1 the front camera from a 2.9, megapixel, video, playback or video recording. You know, 4k and the 4k 1080p 720 and the front actually records at 1080, 720 and 480 other than that.

I can see here. There's not that much you can do to customize and work around this application. It's really really really bare-bones simple, but other than that guys. I'm going to leave the video here, because it's getting long and of course, I'm going to upload another video later on a couple of days from now, after Thanksgiving with gaming, you know a video just for gaming. I'm going to go ahead and download as much gaming as I can and make a video just for gaming, and I'm gonna.

Try to also make a video for the camera hey later on out. Maybe I'll go ahead and share a video on about my review about the phone so far, but you know so far, I have to say after using it for almost 24 hours. It actually feels really, really damn good. You know I like the screen. The sound is amazing, I, never heard of a smartphone that sounds better than the dis phone.

It really reminds me at the HTC One when they first came out. They had fun facing boon speakers, but this one is way better. You know other than that guys thanks for watching this video.
