RARE BlackBerry! Unboxing and First Impressons

Everybody welcome back to tech Odyssey, so today, I'm here with a very special video- and it's probably more special for me than it is for Hugh at this point now, I have here with me: the blackberry, q10 limited edition, the white and gold limited edition, so the q10 was probably one of my most favorite BlackBerry 10 devices. I originally started off with the z10, which I mean I still have right here, I bought it the day. It came out I liked it, but it was a little of a departure from the norm. It didn't have the keyboard with it. So as soon as they came out with the q10 I went out, and I got it. I had three different original OG version.

Q tends to a T-Mobile that I switched over to Sprint and I got one from there now I used that for quite a while and I always wanted the white and gold edition. Once it came out later, it was very, very difficult to get. It was very expensive. I happened to find this one new in the box on eBay, so I figured what time better than the present to go ahead and get my supremely coveted gold and white or white and gold edition q10. So this is just as exciting for me, probably as it is for you, I mean I've got the fold.

I've got all these. Other phones truly very excited about this, and I'm glad that I'm finally going to unbox, probably the most beautiful, beautiful phone of all time. In my opinion now before we get into the unboxing portion of the video I, do want to say if this is your first time stopping by the channel. I appreciate you being here if you enjoy the video hit the like and the subscribe button and a little notification bell, if you want updates on the latest videos, now, let's get inside this box all right. So here we are with the unboxing of the special edition white and gold blackberry q10.

Now I've talked about this a couple of times before. I think the blackberry classic has the best keyboard of all time, but this one right here, second-best runner-up. Now it's really cool the box matches the phone itself. You've got the gold wrapping on the top there, the white with the gold lettering- and you can see here it was made in 2013, so we're talking about a seven-year-old phone now as far as specs go just run it down on quickest, got a 3.1-inch screen. It's an AMOLED display, 8 megapixel camera 2 gigabytes of RAM and 2100 William battery now also making an appearance.

Here's my fancy knife somebody had recommended that I upgrade my unboxing game. A little use a better knife, so hopefully that one is a little more appealing than the kitchen knife that it works for garbage. Now here we are with the beautiful blackberry, q10 white gold Edition. This thing absolutely takes the cake. You've got the beautiful white layout there with the contrasting gold.

The gold borders in between this 3 row keyboard the full QWERTY Edition there, and it just looks pristine. This is a classy phone even by 2020 standards and I. Think that's something that really we miss out on nowadays, when you talk about phones, they're actually used to be a lot more individuality and uniqueness when it came to phones and blackberries of the best. You know they had the different versions. They've got this white and gold version.

They had the Porsche Edition. Furthermore, they had a Porsche Edition q10, which was the p9 983 and then for the z10, the p9 9 8 2. So they really tried to make their devices look perfect and I. Think this, in my opinion, is the best-looking BlackBerry ever and probably the best-looking smartphone ever you've got this nice white texturized back the BlackBerry logo. There you've got the 8 megapixel camera on the back, going to take off the plastic film here, really and truly I, just I love the way this foam looks and in addition to that, it feels nice.

It's got a great premium, build to it. But you know it's fairly: lightweight it'll get heavier when I put the battery in a minute, and you talk about battery that removal. There's the headphone jack there, but with the battery removal bones used to have removable batteries, especially blackberries, and that's the one thing that people loved about a really cool speaker grate down there on the bottom. You have two volume rockers over here on the right hand, side along with the accessory button that works with the smart assistant, which really never took off all that. Well, it wasn't that great, but you know it was there nice gold trim border here on the back of closer look at that camera.

Now it didn't have a lot in the way of storage I believe it only had 16 mega sorry, 16, gigabytes of internal storage, but there's an external SD card slot as well microphones up there on the top, the power buttons on the top one of the nice thing about blackberry 10 if you've never used it, but you could swipe up from the bottom of the screen, and it would turn the screen on now. Here's how you take the back off just pops right off got the two little latches up there on the top. Here on the back, you can see. There's the SIM card slots a single sim unit, it's not dual and then the SD card slot over there on the side. Now it's rocking a 720 by 720p one to one ratio screen, which is something blackberry was known for 328 pixels per inch density.

Now, in addition to that, it has a two megapixel selfie cam and not a lot to write home about it comes with this really special card out. This is cool. I had one that came with the Porsche. This one here is really cool. Now, if you saw there was a special pin on the front that applied to blackberry messenger, so what they did is they used to have special pins for their special edition phones, so people could supposedly recognize you're using a special phone.

If you talk to them, but I, don't really find it to be that great. Now, here's another thing blackberry used to have there on accessories. This right here, I think they call this like pebbled leather, maybe I can't remember, but this is legit stuff right here. You can see the gold blackberry q10 thing on the back there, and it's nice soft leather. You don't have to worry about scratching up the screen and, what's great is when you put the phone inside the screen, it actually turns the screen off and then, when you take the phone out, it turns it back on again, which is really nice and, like I said it, you have to worry about scratching it up, keeps it protected.

Furthermore, you don't worry about a screen protector yeah. This was a long time ago back when they weren't so popular now getting inside the box. There's the documentation. We have a simple microUSB charging cable here, I'm a little disappointed. It's not white! You know if it were white with gold accents that would be really cool.

What is cool here, those that get these premium earbuds in here I've never actually used a pair of these outside the original z10 when they came out. I think these are supposed to be better if I can get inside the classic crap, but taking a closer look at them. You've got a flat cable there, and it's got the ear stabilizers and even the gold decoration on the back there with the gold button for the isolated pause, mute whatever, so that's cool and then some additional ear tips. So it's nice that they threw all that in there. I might go to test them out and then there are multiple adapters we have in here.

So this isn't like an international unlocked version. It was not native to the United States. That's why I had to wait so long to get one I just couldn't afford release back in the day they were more expensive, and they were very hard to find, and he already had a q10. So I couldn't really justify him. Now.

Here's that 2100 William battery like I, said something that Blackberry was known for so with, like the z10 and the q10 edition, you can pop the back off and put the battery in, and you're good to go, and then here it just locks into place. So super simple and easy to do, and I'm really surprised, I expected when I press the power button on here that it wouldn't actually start up. But apparently this thing is held to charge really well for a long time because, as you can see in the beginning, the box was sealed up and yeah. So it's not like somebody, one of they're in charge, the sucker, so I'm perfect surprises. It turned on.

Since this phone is so old, but there we go and one of their cool thing you could see. You could always press on the BlackBerry logo when BlackBerry 10 was starting up, and it would tell you like what the percentage was at, but this was back in the day when it used to take phones, like you know, 20, to 30 seconds to startup. So it's a little different world that we live in now, but you can see here. Like I said you put the phone in there. You can still see the notifications, that's something that BlackBerry has been known for forever, a little red dot, and you can see that, while it's inside the case and then when you take it out of the case taxa, the screen turns back on.

So it's great for battery conservation and all that good stuff, and it's really nice, it's so color-coordinated. It's nice, soft leather. The whole package is brilliant. I showed it to my wife, and she was like, oh my gosh. What is this phone and, like you remember little blackberry well, I finally got the white and gold one.

So you can see here everything on parade the box, the phone the case the card, all of it completely. You know the whole nine yards, so they really went above and beyond with this, so I'm very, very happy with this purchase, and I'm looking forward to using it I already got it updated. You know, as of the time of this video, but really I can't say enough about it. It just looks fantastic, and I'm glad that I finally got my hands on one. Of course, I'm going to have some more content.

That's going to come out other than this, but I just couldn't wait that long, so I have an opportunity to take this out of the box and start playing with it and show it off so you all can also you know, sharing the excitement that I have and seeing this phone up close and in person for the very first time, even though it's seven years later, all right. So there it is there. We have it with the unboxing from my white and gold special edition, q10 I'm actually going to be using this for a little while I've had the SIM card in my blackberry leap that I got the other day. I've been testing it out, trying to see how viable blackberry 10 still is in the year 2020. So I'm going to have a follow-up video on that as well, but it's going in this guy right here.

We're gonna, get very well acquainted, and I'll be using this as one of my two phones, probably for the next week. So super happy about this. Thanks for watching, and I know, this was more of an informational look back in time. Take a look at something that at one point in time, was very important to a lot of people and still, of course, everybody, not everybody, but there are a lot of people that are still big blackberry fans. So I didn't know how many of these were produced.

I do know they were limited edition. There was not a very large run of them. I even had the blackberry Porsche, the p9 983, which was the Porsche version of the q10, so I think this pretty much rounds it all out. I've had the regular one, I've had the Porsche one. Now I've got my fancy white and gold one, and this is going to go into my other part of the video here in the near future, where I talk about blackberry 10, which will include this phone, my z10, and also the leaf.

So again, thanks for watching I really appreciate it guys fun moment here for me trip back in time. It's now here in my pocket in 2020, so like I, said thanks again for watching I appreciate you being here. If you enjoyed the video like I, said in the beginning, hit the like and the subscribe button and a little notification bell. I'll still be making more blackberry content, as we have you know, go down the road I've got so many of these things now I, just because they're, my favorite phones, and it's what I like, so we'll keep making them keep rolling them. Keep showing up.

Thank you guys see you next time.
