POCO X3 NFC After 1 Month: Still Unbelievably Good!

Xiaomi's homophone lineup can be rather confusing at times, while they are usually being marketed as budget gaming centric devices, you kind of find it to be sandwiched between the budget, Redmi series and the flagship miniseries and the Poco x3 and MC is just a great example of that, because for one it is so at a very attractive price tag at launch for under a thousand ringgit, and it features a mid-range processor with a mixture of flashy features such as a 120 hertz display a 5160mah battery with 33 volts fast charging, an ip53 flash pool body, and I can just go on and on about. The amazing hardware features that this phone has to offer, but is it still worth buying after a month? Here's the review, the Poco x3, may be a pretty hefty device to handle at 2-15 grams, but it offers a perfect grip. All thanks to the tapered edges. One thing that I still find it rather annoying after a month is that cheap camera bump it's something I can't ignore when taking out off my pocket, while most flagships are already leaving out features such as a headphone jack and IR blaster. The Poco x3 still has them, which I really appreciate. During the period I like that, Xiaomi has decided to go for a side-mounted fingerprint reader instead of an in-screen solution.

It also has stereo speakers that sounds perfect, which no other phones of the same class could have done. It is a joy to see such a high refresh rate display on a mid-range phone, but I think it is an overkill to have 120hz refresh rate, as no games will be able to take advantage of it, let alone the mid-range hardware, internals of the phone screen. Brightness isn't great for outdoors. Although colors look decent for an IPS panel, it supports HDR playback only on YouTube, but it's not as great looking as you find on an OLED panel. What's impressive is Xiaomi has included its adaptive refresh rate technology to save power, as it only cranks up to the max when required, while the touch polling rate is really good at gaming powering the Poco x3 is a snapdragon 732g chipset, supported by 6 gigs of ram.

I ran into performance issues during my first week, but Xiaomi was quick enough to deliver two software updates during the period that eventually resolves the issue. However, memory management could still be better, as some apps wouldn't stay open, despite having an ample amount of ram, but in most cases the phone was able to launch apps responsively, and I try not to push it too hard gaming performance on the Poco x3 is what you would expect from a mid-range chipset. Don't expect graphics. Heavy games like asphalt, 9 and Zhang Jin impact to run at 60 frames per second, but it will deliver a smooth console gaming experience. The phone gets fairly warm after a certain period of gaming, and it remains cool all the time.

Even when I'm doing a lot of texting for the day, many mid-range posts today can take decent photos and the Poco x3 is no exception. I was generally impressed with the camera's output as it gets the right colors most of the time, and details are well presented. However, things get hideous when I wanted to take some quick shots, as there is a very obvious shadow lag and choppy frames on the live view, this issue hasn't been resolved even after several software updates. Video stabilization is perfect at 4k resolution, but there is frame drop throughout the video which can make it unusable as a video camera. As for the selfie, shooter no surprises here, as it will beautify any face properly for a good social media upload.

The Poco x3 never disappoints in battery life, no matter how hard you push it, I managed to average 5.5 hours of screen on time in a single charge during the period the 33 watts fast charging brake is a lifesaver. When I forget to charge the phone and if I run low on juice, while I'm out of the office, it still supports 18 watts fast charging with a quick charge, power bank, a thing that you wouldn't find on: most phones with your proprietary, fast charging standards. To sum things up, the Poco x3 NFC is totally unrivaled in its own class and is easily the best mid-range phone in 2020. I really wouldn't consider this as a gaming smartphone because of its hardware, and it doesn't really have any gaming-centric features on it to be considered as a proper gaming phone. In fact, I personally feel that this is an upgraded version of the Redmi Note, 9 pro, which actually sell me solid, pretty well due to its specs and so on.

So you definitely can't go wrong with the Poco x3 NFC if you are looking for a great value, mid-range phone with a great battery life, good performance and a decent set of cameras- and, most importantly, it has this really beautiful 120hz display. So that's pretty much for my review of the Poco x3 NFC.
