POCO F3: EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW (IN-DEPTH REVIEW IN ENGLISH)

What's up everyone welcome back to my channel. My name is Janice creator of piano attack that today we're going to be talking about the Poco f3. I really took a deep dive on this, so if you are looking for a review that will tell you everything that you really need to know about this phone before purchasing it, this might be the video for you and, as usual, here's a quick unboxing video before we guy dive deep into the Poco f3 and, as you can see, we have the typical things that are included in the package. We have a welcome card, welcome to the Poco family, and we have this extra box with a soft case in it, and the soft case includes an USB flap so that it covers the USB port right here and then. Finally, we have the phone, but we'll set that aside, and then we can see the charger is here: it's a 33 watt charger, and then we have an USB type-c cable as well, and since this doesn't have a headphone jack, we now have an USB c to 3.5 headphone jack. So for those who are wondering this dongle is included in the package, this one is the highest variant, so this is about 20 000, pesos SRP, moving on to the design, so we have corning gorilla glass on the front as well as on the back.

So what I have here is the white colorway, and this colorway has a matte finish, which I prefer over the black one, which is so, so shiny. It has that mirror effect that I hate so much. This one is not much of a fingerprint magnet as you can see, and now going to the ports. We have this sim card tray right here. It's a dual sim card slot, no expandable memory card slot.

Here we have the USB charging port, a microphone and one of its two speakers and then on the right side. We have the fingerprint scanner on top of the power button, and then we have the volume rockers as well and then on top we have the second of the two speakers. We have three extra holes or what would seem like holes, but it's actually the infrared blaster right here. It's not that obvious. They made it seem like one of the speakers as well and then the back.

Of course, we have the Poco branding and the 5g logo right there and as for its camera, we have a triple camera setup. We have a 48 megapixel main shooter and 8 megapixel ultra-wide angle lens and a 5 megapixel macro lens. This thing right here is a zoom microphone. This has a special feature where you can zoom in, and the audio will get louder. The main sensor in this by the way is a Sony imx582, the same sensor with the Redmi Note 10 and the Poco x3 pro.

But we'll talk more about that in the camera section yeah on the front, we have an AMOLED display. This one is a 6.67 inch AMOLED display, and then we have a very, very tiny punch hole in the front. This is a 20 megapixel, front-facing camera. This weighs under 200 grams about 197 grams. If I remember correctly so it kind of borrows from the design of the mi 11 right here.

So this one is a flagship phone and the camera bump on this is very, very minimal. See that very premium looking, and it also feels premium in the hand as well now, software wise this comes with android 11, with mini 12 on top of it and a Poco launcher. So you can see there. This is a Poco launcher. The flagship mini doesn't have that said launcher, but you do have the option to have an app drawer on the flagship phones as well.

Now, processor, wise. This is a snapdragon 870 processors, it's a brand-new processor, and it scored 692 394 points from an tutu. This is the version 9 of an tutu, so you guys might have to recalibrate what you guys think about an tutu benchmark points. For example, with the 11 I initially had about 670 022 benchmark points now, with version nine I now have seven hundred and seventy-nine thousand and two benchmark points on the me11. Now for comparison's sake, we do have the Xiaomi mi 10 pro.

As you can see here. This is a snapdragon 865 processors, and it scored 628 000 into two benchmark points. Again. This is a Xiaomi mi, 10 pro, so definitely better performance on the Poco f3 as compared to last year's flagship phones, so that alone should give you a perfect idea of how this performs. I mean there's no question: this is a great performing phone but similar to the Poco x3 pro, where I said that you'll see the performance boost when it comes to gaming.

Gaming is where this shines, and I am so excited to tell you about that. Now you do have occasional ads on this. It's your typical Xiaomi experience. They show ads when you install new games, so this is where you'll see the ads right there, so it does have ads they're not going to do anything they're, not aggressive ads, that you need to click back or close a button so similar to the Poco x3 pro. We have game, turbo, video toolbox, floating windows and, of course, everyone's favorite, the second space.

Now it comes to security. Of course, you have faced unlock screen, unlock fingerprint scanner, pretty secure in my book when it comes to bloatware. There are some bloatware that it comes with, especially with the games, but they're so easy to uninstall. You just have to hold this icon right here, tap on app info, and then you can uninstall it here. It's that easy! Now, moving on to the display, I think this one is a little more controversial.

I've had a lot of questions on my YouTube channel, where I asked what you guys wanted to know about the Poco f3 and most of you were asking about the dimming issue on the Poco f3. So does it dim when I'm playing games? Yes, it does, so I set it to full brightness when playing games. So I tested this and you guys can see it here, but the thing is, I really didn't notice the brightness going down, as I was too busy playing the game. So what I did to try to show you guys whether the display on this is dimmer than other phones. Am I tried to put it side by side with the me11, and I set these two phones to their maximum brightness? I turned off auto brightness, so it's kind of obvious that the display on the Poco f3 is definitely dimmer, and then we also have this triple display comparison.

So we have the mi 10 pro on top the Poco f3 right in the middle and then at the bottom. We have the Xiaomi mi 11. , I'm not sure if you guys can tell with this video, but the display on the Poco f3 is definitely dimmer than the other two phones. Now, I'm not really saying that the Poco f3 display is a bad display. I'm just saying it's dimmer so take away whatever you want from that statement.

But overall I think this is still a really good-looking display it's just not as bright as your flagship devices. If you really put this phone side by side with brighter displays, then you'll be seeing an obvious difference when it comes to brightness. This is not going to be able to match up with your flagship devices where the display is very visible, even under direct sunlight. So with this one you'll probably have to squint your eyes or maybe even go under the shade to really see. What's going on with your display, I guess they were expecting gamers to really play hardcore on this.

So this is, you know, a fail safe feature for the Poco f3. It prevents you from having a screen that is too bright, which is good because again, this is an AMOLED display, which means there is a high risk of burn in. If you really abuse this display burn in is real. It's not a fake thing that you know a lot of tech YouTubers just throw in there. Now.

I think, if a lot more people are to complain about this, then Xiaomi would be forced to implement a software update where they will address the dimming issue. I mean for the longevity of your phone, it's actually a good thing, so there you go guys. Furthermore, I hope that answered your questions about the dimming issue on this right. So, aside from that issue, let's go ahead and check out what other features it has for its display. So we have an AI image engine here, so this one is found in your flagship phones.

So we now have AI HDR enhancement and memo, which stands for motion. Estimation motion compensation: basically, it's used to upscale content, shot in 24 frames per second or 30 frames per second, and then it adds extra frames to make the video look like it's shot on 60 frames per second, if you're someone who loves watching videos on their phones, you're going to enjoy your time with the Poco f3, all right, so moving on to the camera, its main sensor is a Sony mix 582. This has the same sensor as the Poco x3 pro. So in my review of the Poco x3 pro, I wasn't too happy about the sensor. I mean you can check out the full resolution.

Samples they're, not really the best, looking photos out there, but they're also not bad looking. So you know they're right in the middle, and it's the same thing with this one. This does seem like it has better video processing and slightly better image processing as well, but you guys can check out the full resolution camera samples which I'll link in the description box. You know just so you guys can see for yourself what I'm talking about. It's not going to be the best looking camera that you can get at this price range.

I think if you can catch them on sale, the Xiaomi mi 10 t pro might be something that you want to look at. Instead, if you're really considering something that is, you know, camera centric that one has a perfect camera now. As for videos, this does have image stabilization at 4k 30 frames per second. Unfortunately, you don't get 4k 60 frames per second on this, which is a shame because the snapdragon 865 can handle 4k 60 frames per second and even 8k 30 frames per second. Let me just quickly talk about the audio zoom function in this.

So, as you zoom in the volume increases, then you can hear the subject better and, as you zoom out, the volume goes down as well all right. So this is the zoom audio feature. So let me just move back. Oh now, as for night mode, this does have the same night mode capability as the Poco x3 pro, but you guys be the judge. You can just take a look at the full resolution.

Samples night mode is quite decent. You can get very usable photos from this one. As for videos, if there's very little ambient light in your surrounding I'm not gonna, recommend that you take videos at nighttime. There is one feature that is new to me when it comes to the Poco f3 and that's the audio settings. So you now have the smart noise reduction right here, I'm going to be showing you a sample, you guys.

Let me know whether this is actually working all right, so here's a sample recording with the smart noise reduction turned off. So this is what you'll be hearing you know when you have the feature turned off, so the next clip will have smart noise reduction turned on one two, three okay, so now we have the smart noise reduction feature turned on. Did it make any improvement? Let me know in the comment section now. It is worth noting, however, that it's not that really noisy. In my background right now, this might be something that will come in handy if you are in a really noisy environment, but as it is right now, you can see that the roads are empty right.

Now, it's a holiday here and of course most people are on lockdown, and then you also have 3d sound. I haven't tried this yet, and you also have the capability of listening to your audio. Using this live in-ear monitor, so you can play recorded sound into the earphones when they are connected, and then you also have the typical Xiaomi features for your phone camera. You have 48 megapixel panorama, you have the vlog video feature, you have the clone, you have the dual video mode, and you have movie effects as well. Long exposure is present there as well.

If you are a little more pro when it comes to camera settings, you have the pro mode. So there's a histogram right there really nice for those who know their photography. So now, let's go ahead and talk about gaming on this one right off the bat. This has game turbo where it improves your gaming experience. So I was able to test this for PS2 emulation, Call of Duty, mobile legends, PUBG mobile asphalt, 9, gang shin impact and trust me.

I did a very extensive gaming test on this. Alright, so the first thing that I'm so happy to tell you guys about is this performs really well when it comes to thermals, but there's one warning so the thermals on the Genshin Impact is what we probably all know already. So really expect this to get hot a lot on its highest graphical settings. Everything else plays like a dream when it comes to thermals performance, it's going to be a great experience for guys, especially if you guys are hardcore gamers Call of Duty mobile, even in battle royale mode, perfect, no heating, issue whatsoever. Mobile legends already have ultra graphical settings as well as HFR mode, so PUBG mobile.

I was able to test this at extreme HD resolution, so perfect thermals there about 37 to 38 degrees Celsius. So I was playing for several hours on this and really, really good performance asphalt.9, no issues whatsoever really smooth sailing again. Gentian impact is the one that gets hot. A lot, but that's not going to be a problem if you have something like this, so if you want to game on the highest graphical settings on genii and impact, go get yourself a black shark, fun, cooler pro, and you'll be able to avoid the overheating issues, because without this fun cooler I had a few instances where gentian impact actually overheated my phone, so I'll link this in the description box. If you guys want to get one, this is very effective for games like gentian impact.

Now. One thing I want you to know is that this comes with a screen protector. Now, in my estimation, this feels like a really cheap screen protector. It doesn't feel nice, especially when you're playing without these thumb sleeves. So I tried playing without the thumb sleeves.

It wasn't a good experience, so I would also highly recommend if you're not gonna, take off the screen protector that it comes with make sure to get yourself. One of these I'll leave the links in the description box. Where you can get this. I tried PSU emulation last year with the Xiaomi mi 10 pro, and it was a perfect experience, but for the games that I've tried on this, I was able to try kingdom hearts final, fantasy, 12 and sticker than three on this Poco f3, and they all worked perfectly so yeah. This is, you know, a real gaming beast.

This is definitely something I would highly recommend for gamers, I'm not going to sweep under the rug. The fact that this has a slight dimming issue, but that's not gonna, take away from your overall gaming experience with the Poco f3 you're still going to have so much fun playing games on this, especially with the great thermals that it comes with, and then, of course, I forgot to mention that this already has a hertz touch sampling rate, which means this is going to be great for those who want more accuracy from their gaming phones. I mean, if you're, not willing to spend that much money for a black shark 4 or black shark 4 pro. This is a very great, cheaper alternative to those gaming phones, all right so battery life. Let me share this quick tidbit.

So I played for 34 minutes with the engine impact I was at 96 battery and then after 34 minutes I was already at 71 battery. So if you're gonna game so hard on this, this is going to eat up a lot of your battery. But if you're going to be using this, like an average user, just some gaming on the side there, some Facebook and social media watching videos and all that regular, then this is gonna, be something that you can use for a full day without the need to recharge. So it really depends on how you use this phone if you're gonna game on this all day then expect to charge this several times during the day, because it only comes with 4520 William hours of battery. Now, as for charging time, you can charge this for about one hour from zero to 100 all right, so other things that you need to know about this phone.

Well, it now has 5g connectivity, but with 5g you don't have dual 5g network on this. So if you put a dual sim on this, one sim will be able to connect to a 5g network, but the other sim card can only connect up to LTE or 4g, and then you also have Wi-Fi 6 already, which is something that is usually found on flagship phones and then. Lastly, they are touting this to have like Dolby tuned speakers, so you guys be the judge. Here's a quick sample. Let me know in the comment section what you think: oh I'm a mess, don't know how I got here, but I'm blessed didn't know it.

Take me past my destiny, you're behind me with I'm a mess, so there are two things that are not on the Poco f3, that is expandable memory and a headphone jack. So if those things really matter to you, then maybe try to check out the Poco x3 pro instead. But if those things aren't a dealbreaker for you, this is definitely something that I can highly recommend to gamers. You know it's not going to be limited to gamers, but the gamers are who this is targeted, for this is a gaming beast, and that is a fact you can run AAA games on this. Without making this sweat, I mean it's literally, not gonna, sweat, because the thermals on this are so good.

I mean the only thing that will make this hot is genre impact and that's it. There was someone who asked if there is an alternative to the Poco f3 at this price range. I really couldn't think of anything that could match the value that this can give you, aside from maybe phones from last year. So if you guys can find a flagship device that has great reviews from last year, then that is definitely something that you can consider, but here's the thing those phones are going to be from last year. This one is brand new.

As for longevity of this phone. Well, it has a snapdragon 870, which is a great performing processor. This is going to last you for several years as compared to something that might be priced at this price range from other brands. You'll probably get something like a snapdragon 765 g, something that is not a flagship level processor. The Poco f3 gives you flagship level performance at a fraction of the cost.

Also, another tremendous value offering from Poco right here. If you guys want to get one I'll put the links in the description box, you know where to find them and if you guys enjoyed this video and find it helpful, you know the drill. Please give a thumbs up subscribe to my channel and hit that bell button. So you can watch more videos like this in the future. That's it for today guys keep safe and have a great day.

You.
