Pixel 5 unboxing + 5 features you'll LOVE! By 9to5Google

The pixel 5 has now officially launched globally in select markets with the US expected to get units from the end of October. Our retail unit has arrived so, let's get it unboxed see what's inside and share with you, five or so things that we think you'll absolutely love about the latest flagship pixel thanks for watching 95 google here on YouTube, remember to thumbs up, hit, subscribe and then tap the bell icon to be among the first to watch our upcoming videos. So here we are. We have the pixel 5 in the sort of sage color, along with the green chameleon fabric case. We will put that aside, though, as our main focus is on the pixel 5. , although if there is enough interest in the comment section we'll make a separate video focusing on the entire official case, lineup for the pixel 5.

But of course this is the main event so peeling off those rear, pull tabs lets us get access. So, let's get rid of those now and slowly pulling off the lid. The star of the show the pixel 5 in that saw to sage with its textured green finish. We'll take that out and put that to one side for a moment. While we explore the rest of the innards, as I kind of fail to grab that pull tab, you can see what looks like some documents and safety information about the pixel 5 with a sim eject tool included.

It doesn't look, though, like there is any stickers this year, which is a real shame, and now, when I take that out, that is an UK three pin power, brick along with an USB c to USB, cable and underneath what looks like a data transfer dongle, which is tough to remove, so I'll leave that there, let's put those aside again and focus our attention on the pixel 5, but we'll need to remove that screen protector cover. First, it definitely feels a lot smaller than I anticipated, but I do think it has a really nice good balance in the hand, and it's headed with that drippy texture at the rear. Let's get the Pixel 4 XL, though, to compare this directly against okay. So we have the Pixel 4 XL there side by side, and you can really start to see a difference in the sizes here. It's substantially smaller, and I think it even is a little thinner.

At first glance, it fully fits into the footprint of the Pixel 4 XL, with no problems at all. I think those one in a larger device might not be appeased so far with the pixel 5. , so skipping forward. Just a bit. We've got the setup out of the way and how to play with the device for a little more than a while, and there are quite a few features that we think those who pre-ordered or might be looking to pre-order the pixel 5 might actually outright love, but let's go through them.

First. As far as things you love about the pixel 5, we think reverse wireless charging might come as a bit of a surprise. That said, if you own a pair of Pixel Buds or other earbuds that include chi charging support wow is this a nice little bonus inclusion? I've barely had the pixel 5 out of the box, and even at this stage I've barely had the pixel 5 out of the box and even at this early stage, I think I'm going to be using this feature quite a bit being able to top up your earbuds for 5 or 10 minutes here, and there is already a fantastic addition that on pixel devices before I don't think I really need it. Yes, of course, other devices have had it already, but it is still a nice option to have when your companion earbuds can be topped up on the go heck you're not even limited to headphones either as a reverse. Wireless charging feature might be a neat option if a friend or family member needs a little battery bump to help get them through the rest of the day.

Naturally, first impressions always to count, and if you're not a case user or indeed abuser, then the resin-coated aluminum chassis of the pixel 5 might endear you right away I'll, say up front. It feels very much like plastic or rubbery plastic, but in a perfect way. Glass is great, Texas, glass. Of course is even better, but for grip, a plastic or plastic plastic-like texture is far superior. Even at this early stage, I feel like I'm, going to be less inclined to put the pixel 5 into a case than previous models, especially as the sorter sage variant demands to be seen more so than that just black model.

Those that happen to be strictly anti-case will likely prefer not having to worry about damaging a back glass panel too, to Google's credit. The poor initial battery life on the pixel 4 series last year was remedied, with the release of the android 11 beta phases and then the full release. However, getting a bigger 4000 to 4080 William cell is still a big bonus, especially as the display is smaller and slightly lower resolution, not that we think you'll notice too much the bump down to full HD plus. The other bonus here is that the snapdragon 765 g is a less power. Hungry chipset, so should hopefully ensure long-term lifespan remains good charge.

Speeds could be a little faster across the board, but they are likely good enough for every day, especially as so far it looks as though we probably won't need to seek out the charger. Quite as often it's amazing to think that the pixel 5 is effectively the first android smartphone to have uniform bezels on all sides of the device, and it sure leaves an early impression when compared directly to the Pixel 4 XL. You can really see the evolution of that display design. Sure not everyone will be a fan of the punch hall notch cut out, but if it brings us more, Google made smartphones with a symmetrical look, we're sure it will be a massive hit long term. It also is confusing that Samsung has made the OLED display but decided that it simply doesn't want to offer symmetrical bezels, but Samsung fans loss is pixel fans gain.

We suppose, although let's hope we get to see more android devices adopt similar screen panels in the coming years. Disappointingly, we didn't get a proper pixel 5 XL this year, that I'm sure many of you were hoping for, but the slightly more compact nature of the pixel 5 still leaves a great first impression on me as someone who does often prefer larger devices it's enough of a step up over the Pixel 4a, but it's still small enough for most people, as those smaller bezels mean screen. Real estate is still impressive at six inches, as we've seen smartphones balloon in recent years. The pixel 5 is a smaller because it really isn't smaller than the traditional sense option for those that don't want to carry around what equates to a pocket tablet, and for that it's pretty impressive. So those are a few of the features we think you may really love.
