Pixel 3a Review - 2 Months Later!

Hey guys its crystal and Google just showed us the pixel for, but that's not coming out for a little. So today we're gonna talk about the Pixel 3a, specifically the Pixel 3a Excel I've been using it for a little over a month. Ever since it was announced at Google, I/o and yeah, it was really excited for it, because a pixel, 3 and 3 Excel is still one of my favorite phones, but the more and more I use the 3a I feel like there's not much missing. Even though this is the budget version of the pixel 3, it's got the same camera this beautiful brand-new color and here's. Why I think it's a pixel that most people should buy now? Obviously being that this is the budget pixel not everything's, going to feel as premium as a more expensive, pixel, 3 and 3 Excel, and there's definitely some downgrades to be made for that price tag. So, throughout my month of using it, I was determined to see it.

Does downgrade really affected my everyday use, speaking of everyday use, something that you should be using every day is the Marshall Wilburn 2. So before we continue big things to today's sponsor Marshall now Marshall is iconic for their amps and not only are they're bringing great sound, but also their classic looks to their new line of portable speakers, so whether it's a budget-friendly Pixel 3a or the latest iPhone, the Marshall Wilburn 2, makes for a great external speaker to use on the go it makes for a good speaker indoors, but being that it is portable, you can take it outside with you, and it'll sound great. There. ? thanks to multi-directional sound with backfiring tweeters, giving you 360 sounds anywhere. You go something I really appreciate is the control you have over sound.

So if you want more treble or bass, you can dial that in just like you would an amp. It's got great battery life, giving you 20 hours of Wireless playtime off a single charge. It also has Bluetooth.5.0 is durable, but not super-heavy. It's also IPA to water-resistant. So again, since it's a great option for outdoors, you don't have to worry about water.

So that's the Marshall Wilburn -. If you guys want to know more about it, make sure you check out that link below now back to the pixel 3a1 area, that you're not sacrificing anything, is when it comes to audio, because we get stereo speakers here, and they sound pretty good. I haven't really been using them for a music listening, but they're great for watching videos on the go, but a great way to listen to music with this phone is through the headphone jack, because we do get a headphone jack here, and I know. I made a lot of people happy to see it back. So it's a lot of phones have ditched it these days and I appreciate that is there, but there's so many great Bluetooth options out now that it's not a huge deal to me.

It does make me wonder, though, if we'll see it come back on the pixel for, but for now it's a nice little bonus that we get with a Pixel 3a and three AXL. So what exactly makes this phone feel cheaper? Well, when it comes to looks, it still looks pretty identical to a pixel 3, but when it comes to build quality, it's made of plastic instead of a glass back, but I kind of prefer it I mean it makes it feel lighter it's not that much lighter, but it feels lighter, and I know. This might sound kind of weird, but I think I almost prefer the plastic feel over the glass. Something else. I really love.

Is this new purplish color that the phone comes in? It's literally called purplish, and it's a perfect name for it, because it's a very subtle pastel looking purple is not too in-your-face and yeah I, just I really love the way. It looks. I also love the neon, yellow, accented power button on this side, I think it's a nice little touch and good job Google, because you always nail it when it comes to colors, so I love this, and again I don't really mind the plastic. If anything, the only downside to that is that we lose wireless charging which I really have come to love these days so yeah. It would have been nice to see it on this phone, but that's just a feature that we lose because of the pricing.

Switching things over to the front you're, technically sacrificing a little when it comes to the display I'm, comparing it to the pixel 3 Excel, because you're going from a six point, three inches 1440p display to a slightly smaller six inches, 1080p display, so you're losing a little of resolution, but it still looks good. It's still OLED. It still looks great and right out of the box. I think it did look a little too saturated for my liking. Thankfully you can tweak that in settings, but probably the biggest thing here is: if you hated that notch on the three XL it's gone, you still got thick bezels to deal with, but no notch.

Now, the only real downside with the Pixel 3a is that it isn't the most powerful phone jumping in and out of apps and when I had a lot of apps open in the background, I noticed that they would close out a little more often than I was used to also, if you're a gaming. It's not the smoothest experience so, if you're, a big gamer, probably not the best phone for you, but this phone isn't meant to be a powerhouse it'll. Do everything else, just fine messaging, watching videos, Netflix you're good! Well, that you just gotta, remember the biggest reasons you'd be behind this phone is because of its price and the camera. So about that camera we get pretty much the same great 12.2, megapixel camera on the back that we saw on the pixel, 3 and 3 XL, and this camera is truly the reason. I love, pixel phones.

So much so, let's take a look at some of these photos, starting with some pictures from the rear camera. These pictures tend to be vibrant and colorful, with tons of detail and sharpness, a good amount of contrast and overall, the pictures just look perfect straight out of the camera, just like the pixel 3. They already feel like they've been edited, so you won't have to do much after you, snap the picture and if you're into that you'll really love this camera. Here's some portrait pictures too, and it's always amazing to note that this is all done with that one camera on the back: there's no telephoto lens needed to achieve this, look just a single camera, and it's software, and it looks perfect. But one thing to note with these portrait pictures when you're taking them since, like I, said 3a, isn't the most powerful phone it'll take a little longer to process in the native camera app, so you're going to have to wait an extra second or two after you take the photo to view them, but this is only really noticeable if you're, comparing it to the pixel three and three XL.

Let's take a look at some selfies on portrait selfies as well with that single, a megapixel camera and an aperture of 2.0 in the front and unlike the pixel three excel, the three an Excel does not have two selfie cameras. So we're not going to see any super wide angled selfies here, but we still get a decently wide angled camera that fits a lot of people and a lot of the background in the shop. Low-Light pictures look great too, but something that makes them even better is night sight, which is that lovely little feature that Google has quickly become known for ever since the pixel 3, and thankfully we see it here on the Pixel 3a as well and basically uses software and AI to make those really low light pictures a lot brighter and nicer looking. So that's why you're buying this phone because of its amazing camera, it's crazy that you get it in a phone that starts at $400 ? like I'm, not even sure that you can get a pointer shoot. That's that good for that price.

On top of that, you also get a bigger battery than the three XL and really great battery life. They'll. Definitely last you all day. You don't get any crazy, pop-up cameras, you don't get it in display fingerprint reader, but you still have a really solid fingerprint scanner on the back and I think that's with the Pixel 3a and 3a SLR all about they're not going to compete with the flagships in terms of power, but it's got all the essentials and, more importantly, it's got a great camera. At a great price, but that's it for today, thank you guys so much for watching, don't forget to subscribe, and I'll see you later.

You.
