Oppo F17 Pro Review: Lovely Design, Great Battery Life, but Can It Beat Realme 7 Pro, Samsung M31s? By Gadgets 360

The 25 000, rupees smartphone segment right now is currently the least crowded. You have the recently launched realm 7 pro the slightly older Redmi k20, and then you have this the Oppo f17 pro. Now it's slim it's light, and it looks good but how's the camera and the performance hi, I'm hoyden, and you're watching gadget360- and this is my review of the Oppo f17 pro now before we go ahead, don't forget to subscribe to our channel and also hit that bell icon, so you're the first to know. Whenever we push out a new video, I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people buy the Oppo f17 pro solely for its design. The frame and the back panel are built from plastic. It looks delicate at first, but this phone still feels quite rugged.

Now the magic blue color that I have looks great on the sunlight, and you can see hints of purple along the edges too. It's also incredibly comfortable to use for long periods, be it gaming or texting. Now at the front. The Oppo f17 pro has a 6.43 inch, AMOLED display with a full HD plus resolution. Sadly, this is only a 60 hertz panel and not 90 hertz or even 120 hertz.

Now, there's no hdr10 certification either, which is a little disappointing. However, thanks to the AMOLED panel, you can make use of the always on display feature to check the time and alerts without having to wake up the screen. Watching videos on the display was also a very good experience, as colors were punchy and the brightness was more than adequate. You also get an in-display fingerprint sensor which worked well in my experience and so did the face recognition. Now the Oppo f17 pro uses a MediaTek hello p95 soc and comes in just one configuration with 8gb of ram and 128gb of storage.

Now the outscore soc is fairly speedy, but not as powerful as say. The Qualcomm, snapdragon 720g or even the snapdragon 730 performance was pretty good. In my experience, though, with daily usage, the Oppo f17 pro felt snappy and responsive when loading apps or simply navigating through android's menu system coming to the gaming performance games such as Omar pixel, gun, 3d and battle. Prime all ran smoothly. The in-game graphics looked good too, and gameplay was smooth most of the time.

Overheating wasn't an issue either as other than the back of the phone getting slightly warm. It was very comfortable to hold even with extended gaming sessions. Now, since the Oppo f17 pro runs on color OS 7.2, it's got some of the same features that we recently saw even on the Reno 4 pro like smart sidebars, quick return, bubble, themes and custom apps such as Oppo relax, all of which are present. However, there's one new gesture called air answer which lets you answer or reject a call by performing a hand gesture in front of the selfie cameras. Now it worked decently.

Well, when I tried it, and it could be handy if you need to answer a call without having to touch the screen now, the Oppo f17 pro is backed by a 4015 William hour battery and ships with a 30 watt, fast charger in the box, the battery lasts for a day and a half for medium to light usage on average and the 30 watt charger does a pretty good job of charging the phone quickly too. In my experience, I was able to charge it fully in under an hour. The Oppo f70 pro has a total of six cameras. Four at the back and two in the front. Now talking about the rear cameras, you have a 48 megapixel primary, accompanied by an 8 megapixel ultra-wide angle, a 2 megapixel monochrome and a 2 megapixel depth camera surprisingly, the Oppo f70 pro does not have a macro camera and there's no macro mode in the camera app either.

I wouldn't say this is a total loss since most of the dedicated macro cameras on phones that I've tested haven't exactly been great. In this case, though, it would have been better to have one rather than the dedicated low-res monochrome camera. In my opinion now this camera only seems to be used if you select the op7 filter in portrait mode and nowhere else in daylight. The primary Samsung gm1 sensor captured, sharp and well detailed 12 megapixel bin images, exposure and colors were also handled very well without any unwanted boost in saturation, autofocus was reliable, which made capturing close-ups quite easy. The ultra-wide angle, camera captured shots with equally good exposures.

Even though details were a bit soft, a portrait mode worked well correctly, blurring out the correct areas behind me. In most instances, the level of background blur can also be adjusted before you take the shot low light images were not bad, but details were visibly weaker once I magnified them. Dark patches, like the sky, also had a bit of grain. A night mode helps fix the noise and exposure, but details don't improve too much. However, I did have better luck with close-ups, which display slightly better details in night mode compared to without it now in the front.

There's a 16 megapixel primary selfie camera and a 2 megapixel depth camera the main front. Camera captured decent looking selfies under good light. Facial details were good and skin tones generally. Look natural portrait mode for selfies. Didn't deliver the most pleasing results, but it's there.

If you need to use it, the selfies don't look great in low light, but you can get usable shots. If there's enough artificial light around you coming to videos, you can shoot up to 4k resolution on the Oppo f17 pro, but sadly, without any stabilization. I also found colors to be quite off when shooting at this resolution. Videos are stabilized at 1080p, but the quality is a bit weaker. You can also shoot video using the ultra-wide angle camera, but only at 1080p, and you do need to switch to this camera before you begin.

Shooting the quality is below average and there's no stabilization image. Quality in low light is not great either, even if you're using the primary camera. So should you buy the Oppo f17 pro the Oppo f70 pro is a very likable phone, mostly because of how slim and light it is. It looks quite modern thanks to the exposed lens design of the rear cameras. Battery life is also very good.

It charges quickly and it has a nice display. However, I do think that the camera performance could have been much better and despite having six of them, only a few are really noteworthy. Then this performance, which, while decent in its own right, does feel a little weak compared to phones such as the Realme seven pro and even the Redmi k20, which are also available at similar prices.
