Oppo A74 Review - Easiest Smartphone To Recommend?

This is the Oppo a74 now listen to this. It costs only around 250 euros here in Germany, but it comes with a 6.4 inch. AMOLED display eight gigabytes of ram 128 gigabytes of onboard storage, a 5000mah battery 33 watt, fast charging and three cameras on the back and a 16 megapixel front-facing camera sounds pretty good on paper, but is it any good, let's find out, I'm Kevin from peacock inside tech, and this is my Oppo a74 review. So I've been testing the a74 for a couple of weeks now, and I'm pretty impressed with the phone's design and hardware. It looks pretty cool if you ask me, and it feels perfect in the hand as well. It has a nice weight to it.

Furthermore, it's balanced, it does have a glossy back and, of course that attracts fingerprints. But if it's clean it looks perfect and this color just looks really nice as well. So I really like the design of the Oppo a74. The button layout is pretty typical, Oppo with a power button on the right side of the phone, the volume rocker on the left side of the phone, also with the sim card tray on the left side and on the bottom, you get an USB port, a headphone jack and a speaker grille on the top. There's nothing, but definitely one of the highlights of the a74 has to be this 6.4 inch, AMOLED display on the front. It's like seriously impressive for a phone that only cost around 250 euros.

It's really sharp with its full HD plus resolution. Furthermore, it gets plenty bright up to 800 nits in direct sunlight and the viewing angles are also perfect. Furthermore, it's really nice watching videos and consuming content on this device and the size is, in my opinion, probably the perfect size around 6.4 inches for most people and just an overall great experience with this display. Furthermore, it does only have a 60 hertz refresh rate, but, to be honest, it's good enough. I mean there are phones out there with 90 hertz or 120 hertz, but if you didn't have a phone with a high refresh rate before seeing this one, you won't feel like you're missing anything and everything still looks pretty smooth, even though it's only 60 hertz and at the top left of the screen, you get a small punch out for the 16 megapixel front facing camera and the front facing camera is actually pretty good.

It has a lot of resolution to play with and the quality of photos are pretty decent. It applies this beauty effect by default, which smooths your skin and makes you look pretty. I'm not really a fan of that. So I like to turn this off, but here are some of the samples that I've taken with the camera with it on you can increase the eye size. Make your face.

Slimmer, you can do a lot of stuff that I'm not really into, but the options are there, which is cool. You can record full HD video from the front facing camera, so sadly, no 4k and there are a lot of different modes for the front facing camera. Like night mode or the portrait mode etc, so there are a lot of features that you can play with, which is pretty cool. So, on the back of the phone you get a triple camera setup and the main lens is actually 48 megapixels and the main lens is actually pretty good. It can get some impressive shots and good lighting, and I've been impressed with it, especially with high dynamic range with this camera.

It's pretty good Oppo software does a great job of pulling details out of the shadows, because I intentionally shot photos against the sun just to test it to see how well it works and, by my surprise, the quality of the photos by shooting directly into sunlight came out pretty good, as you can see here on these samples, there's also a 2 megapixel macro lens on the back, but the quality is just so because of the small resolution. The photos are not very detailed, so what I would do is just take a full resolution: 48 megapixel, shot and just crop into the size that you want, because the quality seems to be a little better. That way, so the third lens is actually only a depth sensing lens to help with portrait mode, so yeah three camera setup, but you can only use two. The camera UI is also pretty easy and simple to use, and it looks nice. It really resembles the iPhone's camera app, which is not a bad thing, but the overall camera experience with the Apple A74 has been pretty good.

The a74 comes with a snapdragon 662 processors, with eight gigabytes of ram. So what that translates to is pretty solid performance for a phone of this price. It's really smooth and responsive. No matter what I was doing on the phone playing games worked very well, multitasking, no hiccups, no problems at all, so there's nothing to worry about when it comes to performance and color. Os apple's skin on top of android is also perfect.

It's one of my favorite skins, because it's really quick and responsive it's not too bloated. They do have a lot of their own apps, but it works really well, and they have some really cool features built in like the game space to help you concentrate on your game. It'll put it in do not disturb mode, so nobody can contact you while gaming. It also limits the background apps in the back, so you can really get the best performance from your game that you're playing at the moment, and you can play those games for a pretty long time, because the Apple A74 comes with a pretty big 5 000 William battery and from my experience so far, the battery life has been pretty great. Getting me consistently around a day and a half of use with my usage and that's a mix of social media YouTube, Netflix, etc.

But I really can't complain about the battery life at all, and on top of that, it comes with a 33 watt charger which charges the phone superfast, and so that means, if you do end up having to recharge by the end of a day, which I don't think you'll have to you- can do it really quickly with the VOC fast charging. So if it wasn't obvious enough, my experience with the a74 has been pretty good, and it's a pretty easy phone to recommend, especially for the price I mean. Of course, there's always room for improvement. For example, it has a single bottom firing speaker, which gets really loud, but it's really tinny. The quality and quality of the sound is just not as great as I would have hoped, but yeah it still gets loud.

You can hear everything no problem, but also, if you hold it in landscape mode, it's really easy to cover. But up that being said, this is a great device for the price and, if you're looking for something under 300 euros, I would definitely consider the a74 so that wraps up this video. Thank you for watching. What do you think about the Oppo a74? Let me know down in the comments. So if you liked it, please hit the thumbs up.

Button and a sub would be much appreciated, and I hope to see you soon in the next video foreign.
