OnePlus Nord 2... or the N200?

Okay, so I'm here to talk about what no one else is talking about: OnePlus just came out with their OnePlus word 2 and, at the same time the OnePlus word n200, I feel like not enough. People have mentioned or talked about the OnePlus nordin200. So let's talk about it. So those of you who haven't dug really into the OnePlus word phones recently or ever. Let me fill you in um OnePlus word came out and they also uh came out with the OnePlus word and 100 at the time right, which was a more budget-oriented budget-friendly version of it. Now they've come out with the next generation, the OnePlus word 2, and also the OnePlus word n200.

They came out at the same time and uh. One of them is like, like close to half the price, so yeah, the OnePlus note n200, is about 239 is U. S. , depending on exactly where you buy it and who you are and where you're from the uh the OnePlus word 2 is about a hundred dollars more. So you know for two hundred dollars less than the one plus word two they're, like flagship budget phone.

If that's even a term um, what are you getting? Usually I talk about the CPU first, but actually, oh, I do want to start talking about the display, because that's the main thing you look at the main thing, you're thinking about with the phone, so both of these displays are 90. Hertz displays um. They have very close to the same resolution um once you know the OnePlus north n200 is slightly bigger than the other one, but not by a ton. The big difference is that the OnePlus word 2 has an OLED display and the OnePlus nordin200 has an lcd. Now.

Does that make a difference to your average end user? Probably not? No, not a huge difference in how you like actually go through life and do things but to me and everybody else in the tech space. Yes, that makes a very big difference. Yes, it's huge. I notice it, and it's hard to live without it. Is there any practical reason you need an OLED display over LCD? I mean OLED technically, is you know when you have the deeper darker blacks on the screen, uh you're saving battery life from things like that, you get much better contrast ratio things just tend to look better and more the way they should, but no there's no like any marked huge benefit as an end user you'll be fine.

Moving on to the processor now the n200 has a Qualcomm snapdragon 485 g, while there's a MediaTek processor in the OnePlus word 2. The difference. Is there a big difference there uh? Yes, the one in the OnePlus word 2 geek benches. I believe it was close to double about twice, as is more powerful, faster better than the OnePlus word n200. If you're looking for a phone, that's going to last longer yeah, you probably would care about that.

Now, along with the faster processor in the OnePlus note 2, you also have a storage capacity and a ram configuration difference. The OnePlus nordin200 has four gigabytes of ram 64 gigs of storage, pretty much what we all consider bare bones, unless you're Nintendo 32, the earthly part, is on the OnePlus word 2. You have 128 gigs of storage, minimum and 8 gigabytes of ram minimum right, so 8 to 12, 128, gigs, min storage, there's a big difference. If you care about storage, that's a thing um, you know having the eight gigabytes of ram is plenty, I don't think most people need 12. I frankly like I have 8 gigabytes ram in the computer that I'm editing this video on right.

If I can get by making this with eight gigs, what do you need? 12 in a phone for also don't judge me for having only eight gigs of ram in my Mac. Do not judge me now does make a huge difference if you're trying to get the OnePlus word n200 um, having just four gigs of ram. I think four gigs would be okay right now. Um do. Will it be okay in 2022 2023? I don't know, I'm not quite sure.

Honestly. The longevity is definitely capped a little by having less ram than some of the more average flagships right now. Another thing the OnePlus word n200 has is a micro SDC card slot. So you can expand that storage space right up, 64 gigs is like yeah. It's not gonna! Be enough! That's up to you now personally.

Do I care? No, I mean I don't really store a lot locally on my phone um, but yeah for the people that don't have access to the internet or Wi-Fi nearly as often as I do um. I can see why that might be important to you. If you want, you can pretty much make your n200 have the same storage as your word two you technically can expand the word to storage after you buy it. So in some ways the n200 has maximum potential anyway. Moving on, let's talk about the cameras for a second now I personally do not care about cameras and phones.

Much at all. If you watch my channel you're aware of this, they both have a triple camera layout. The OnePlus word 2 has a much better type camera. It has a higher megapixel account 50 megapixels, something bigger megapixel count on the main shooting camera. Um.

Contrast that to I think it's like 12 on the OnePlus word and 200. I don't really. I mean sure fine it. Furthermore, I really don't think more. Megapixel makes for a better picture.

Um honestly, having a bigger sensor, makes a big, bigger difference right. It's the same reason that, like the new Google Pixel 6 is going to have bigger sensors right, there's only so much you can do with software there's. Only so much more megapixels actually helps you with. If anything it just eats up that smaller amount of storage space faster, so yeah, bigger sensors, keep it at 12 max out at 24 megapixels. I never really ever need more or want more than 24 megapixels, because the file sizes just get too big.

So another thing to talk about battery life right battery life is huge in smartphones. The OnePlus n200 has a 5 000 William hour battery life right or battery cell. That's a big! That's! A big battery! That's above average for your battery. It's not like the biggest we've seen right. We have seen bigger than 5 000 William hour batteries.

We've seen 6 000 in some gaming phones, but 5000 is a very big and generous battery. Now the OnePlus word 2 has a 4500 William hour battery life. It does have a slightly smaller screen, that's OLED! It has a different processor. So don't look at just the battery count number. There are other things that change your battery life, such as.

How? How much is your processor using uh? You know how much power does your display take up? What do you personally set your brightness to on an LCD versus an OLED panel? All those things make a difference um. I would call these batteries comparable overall, the design of the phones right just the way they look feel it's very similar right. They look pretty modern, they're, attractive phones, they've got a hole, punch camera. They got a little of a chin at the bottom, but you know um. Furthermore, they got a new, modern, looking camera type layout on the back.

I would almost call it basic at this point: um yeah, I think they're good. Looking phones, no one's going to think you have an old phone, no one's going to think you got a cheap phone. Uh big react: yeah, that's a normal, looking smartphone somebody who doesn't know what OnePlus is might say: hey nice, Samsung, yeah, you'll be fine another one. Last thing I do want to talk about before I just talk about overall value is the biometrics right. The OnePlus word 2 has an in display fingerprint reader, which um, if you try them out, they're fine right.

It's cool that it's hidden behind the display they're, not necessarily better than any other kinds of biometrics. It's cool that they're in the display and that's about it really they're a little slower. Now. The OnePlus word n200 has a power button side, side, fingerprint reader, and that's just fine. It's fine! I really I'm not complaining about it.

It's just it could be a little faster. I don't really care for the fact that when I click it, I have to kind of click it again to or touch it again to get it to read my thumbprint a little annoying. I wish I would just be able to pull my phone around my pocket with my thumb on the power button, and it would just be like yeah wake up because there's the biometric. It's totally him he's totally looking at that darn phone also. Neither of these phones has wireless charging.

So that's out the window. You know if if you were you're trying to compare like well which phone should I get the OnePlus word 2 or n200, I mean the phones were made for specific people right. The n200 is very much targeting that really low budget price point like you are bare-bones trying to get the cheapest phone you can, but you don't want it to suck right OnePlus. Word 2 is kind of, I would almost argue getting close to that mid-tier pricing right with being over 400 dollars. It's its in that middle, mid-emitter, mid-tier price range you're, going to get what feels a little more like a premium phone experience uh.

But ultimately I would say this: if you have four hundred dollars to spend on a smartphone or a little more, I would go for the OnePlus number. Two, if you're, really trying to pinch pennies you're, not gonna, miss out on anything major by getting the n200 any who. That's all I got um yeah. Thank you for watching. You know.

If you're new here consider subscribing yeah, that's it. I got no idea, bye peace. Thank you.
