iPhone SE (2020) Review: 48 Hours Later...

What's going on everyone, this is DOM, and here we have the 2020 I phone s II, and this thing is only four hundred dollars. It's actually pretty nice I mean it's a lower-priced budget, iPhone and I've been using it for the last 48 hours, and I'm gonna. Give you my thoughts on everything here, the good, the bad, but, to be honest, there's not much that you can complain about for a $400 iPhone. So around the front we have a 4.7 inch display with a resolution of 750 by 1334, and no that is not going to break any records here. His four hours display resolution, but it's a nice form factor I mean it. The resolution is fine, I mean looking at it up close, you can't really see any pixels or anything like that.

So I'm totally fine with that and to be honest, like I'm I'm, getting very nostalgic feelings of this form factor like look at this I can touch my fingers on the other side gripping this thing like it is just a nice small device that does what it's supposed to do. The funny thing here is that the entire phone fits inside the display on the iPhone 11 Pro Mac. So that's gives you an idea of how small this little sucker is like. It is very small. So here we have the 13 Bionic chip and three gigabytes of RAM, and we have an 1821 William hour battery, and we'll touch on battery life in a little, but I mean as far as these specs in here go III mean it's got Apple's latest chip in it like really as far as longevity goes.

If you plan on having this for a while I think you're going to be good to go on performance because it's its got Apple's latest processor in there, and you really can't go wrong with that. I know there are a lot of people that are like. Oh, the processor in this thing beats the pants off of any flagship, Android phone right now, and I'm, not even gonna touch on that. That's that's kind of irrelevant, because you're, comparing apples to oranges, I mean this thing is fluid. It's fast.

It works good, like there's literally no problems whatsoever here and everything from at least my experience using it in the last couple of days really matches up with my iPhone 11 Pro Max. As far as like the raw performance just moving through the operating system, it does a pretty good job. So I should note that this is not an OLED display. This is an LCD panel and on the back side we do have a 12 megapixel camera, a single camera at that. So there's no wide angle, there's no telephoto, there's no night mode! There's none of that special stuff.

On the other iPhones, it's literally just one camera on the backside.12 megapixels shoots up to 4k video. Does a pretty good job at I mean as far as camera performance goes. It's an iPhone camera. It does what you would expect an iPhone camera to do it's not going to be the greatest out there in all situations, but it's also not the worst. Furthermore, it's actually a pretty good camera, especially everything that I say is going to be followed up by especially for a $400 phone, because that's kind of that's kind of the tagline here like, oh, you can say: okay well, the battery capacity, isn't that, but it's pretty good for a $400 phone, or you can say.

Oh the display, isn't super high resolution, but it's pretty good for a $400 phone, that's kind of the name of the game here. So speaking of the front-facing camera here, 7 megapixels, it shoots 1080p video at 30 frames per second, and you know what I mean I would say for what it is. It's pretty good I will say, having touch ID back on an iPhone is actually pretty nice, like I thought that we were done with touch ID I thought that we weren't creating getting any more touch ID on iPhones ever again- and here we go with this guy touch ID here. One thing that I have noticed about using this just coming from an iPhone 11 Pro Max, is like if I want to get to my recent apps I try to swipe up, and it brings up the control center if I want to get to a control center up. Here it brings down the Notification Center, just a little thing that I'm used to coming from an iPhone without a home button like, for example, taking a screenshot doesn't work.

If you do the volume and the power you got to do the volume and the home button, and then it'll take a screenshot, though that's not really anything to worry about. If you're, you know you who's coming to this phone from an iPhone, 11 Pro Matt ox, probably not that many people, but just in my experience over the last couple of days, just the inconsistencies between iPhones with home buttons and iPhones, with face ID only it definitely I can tell you know when I'm going through using the different gestures that are available there, speaking of which this does not have faced ID whatsoever and, to be honest, like right now, in a world where I'm wearing a lot of masks and not having touch idea, it's actually pretty nice because you know I can open the phone and it is the mask, doesn't gotta. You guys get the point, but I think that this iPhone SE the last iPhone SE, was four hundred dollars as well as $399 for the 16 gigabyte model. Here we have $399 for 64 gigabytes and much, much better internal specifications and that's what you get, because technology has gotten cheaper and Apple has been able to make it a little more affordable for everybody out there and I think what a time to release a $400 iPhone, especially one with a black bezel around the front. Even the white model has a black bezel, so I think that all around I mean and like pretty good.

So we also do have wireless charging here, and I know that shouldn't be a surprise, because this is based on the iPhone 8, but it would have been really easy for them to emit that wireless charging coil on a $400 phone and get away with it. Let's be honest about that, they could have easily gotten away with that, but it's here which is pretty nice, so you can wirelessly charge your battery and speaking of battery life. Okay, so this isn't going to win any awards or anything like that. But I think it does pretty good it'll. Last you, through the day I mean right now I'm at 82%, with about an hour and thirty minutes of screen on time, which I feel is pretty fair.

Like I said it's not going to win any awards, but it will definitely make it through the day and, like I've, said millions of times before for a $400 phone. One thing I would say about the display. Here is the fact that it's not super bright I mean it gets bright, but when you're outdoors you kinda, that's something you're going to have to be concerned with its just not as bright as some other iPhone displays, but I hate saying this I absolutely hate saying this, but for a $400 phone, it's pretty good and along with all of that, we have ip67 dust and water resistance, which I guess is expected at this point. But again it's one of those things. They could have skimped a little on made some more money and omitted that from the whole thing, so I'm glad they didn't anyway, that about wraps it up.

For this video, like I, said this is a $400 iPhone and what it packs in here is well worth the money if you're looking to get an iPhone, or maybe you even have like an iPhone, 6s or a7, you might want to consider this as an upgrade anything later than that I wouldn't go from an iPhone, 8 or 8 plus to this, or you know anything above that really, but I guess, that's your decision. I, don't know, I want to know what you think about the new iPhone SE in the comments section below I. Think it's pretty good for $400, that's kind of the entire story here, pretty good for $400. So let me know your thoughts in the comment section. Leave this video a thumbs up if you enjoyed it and if you're new around here subscribe to the channel and don't forget to hit the notification bell, so you can be notified when new videos like this drop in the near future.

So thank you so much for watching everyone. I really do appreciate it. This is DOM and I will catch you in the next video.
