OnePlus 9 5G Unboxing and First Impressions! By Tech Zilla

The OnePlus 9 5g unboxing, first impressions after my intro welcome everybody, I'm technical, I'm back with another video. Today, I'm going to be unboxing the OnePlus 9 5g and giving you my first impressions of it. Disclaimer OnePlus sent this out to me that haven't seen this video. I haven't seen any other videos I produced for this phone so far, they're not going to be looking at it. I'm not paid for this so take that on board now classic one plus packaging in the red, the signature color, and we can see here. This is the big thing co-developed with Hasselblad this year.

OnePlus have listened to you, the fans and thought about. How can we do the camera the best we can do it. So, let's open this up and bang there we go now in the lid. We have. This just fill out the lid.

I always forget about this part, see here, so you get safety information but never settle with the sim ejection tool. Let's open this up, you got the welcome letter, I'm not going to get into that in too much detail, quick, start guide, etc. You've all seen this stuff many a time before many a time now. I have been using this phone for about a week, so, let's unwrap it before I do. You can see here an instant improvement wireless charging I'll get into that in a little later and voil?.

Now this one is in the winter mist color. This is the only one that comes in 12 gigs of ram 250. Gigs of storage is 729 pounds. You can also get the astral black version or the arctic sky, which is eight gigs of ram 120 gigs of storage for 629 pounds. It's 200 pounds cheaper than the equivalent pro model.

What's in the box? Okay, let's have a look around the device itself. Let's first look at the Hasselblad cameras. Now this one you've got a 48 megapixel main camera which can produce 12 bit raw three HDR, I'm not going to get into too much depth at this point. That would be my review. You've got a 50 megapixel ultra-wide camera.

That allows also allows high quality macro at four centimeters away, and you know with ultra-wide you get that sort of barrel distortion on the edges of the image. Well, this only has a distortion of one percent, so it's very, very useful. There's no telephoto lens on this, but you do get the 2 megapixel monochrome camera, it's capable of shooting in 8k at 30 frames per second, it's also got a dual led flash now this is, as I said, the winter mist color beautiful. So the frame itself is a carbon composite. Take whatever you want that to mean, I don't know the right side: you've got the notification switch, so vibrate silent, ring.

You've also got the power button here on the bottom. You've got the bottom firing speaker, USB, charging port microphone and on the left side, you've got the volume rockers. As I said, on the top. You've got the microphone just above the screen. You've got the earpiece right there, which acts as the second speaker.

So this is a dual speaker device and look how fast our fingerprint sensor is: let's do it again, nice and fast. Now, let's try face unlock. Look, I'm not looking at my face bang very, very quick. Now this screen is a six point. Five inch display completely flat.

Well, that's one thing: I love about it: no curves on it very minimal bezels! Its maximum brightness is 1100 nits, which is about 200 nits less than the pro, but still plenty bright for outdoors etc. and get this it's a 120 hertz refresh rate. That's right: 120, hertz, OLED, beautiful screen! I like how they put the camera here. There's also a pre-applied screen protector and if you can see that around the camera that comes with the phone, which is always a nice touch, so if I go into here settings go into display advanced, you can see there, 120 hertz refresh. You can go down to 60 hertz.

If you want okay I'll, do a full walkthrough video about this as well, all the different features functions, etc. I won't do that right now, because this is just an unboxing of first impressions, so you can see your vision, comfort, reading mode, dark mode, etc. , always on display 16, gigs, used of 214 gigabytes free so out. That's how good these cameras are now they're. Really exceptional. You've also got video, so let's go into video mode. It is capable of 8k, I'm just going to do 4k at the moment. Super smooth is limited to 5 minutes, but, let's be honest, who's going to do more than 5 minutes on their device and that's the orange Hasselblad shutter button.

So if you're going to photo, that is the classic color of the Hasselblad cameras for the shutter buttons. It also has the Hasselblad shutter sound as well, so OnePlus have really delivered this year. The cameras, that's their main thing. Let's play this. Super smooth is limited to five minutes but, let's be honest, who's going to do more than five minutes on their device and that's the orange Hasselblad.

Now I just played that back for you, you see. The microphones are pretty decent as well. So honestly, I'm really impressed with this really impressed I've been using it. As I said for a week, it's got the snapdragon triple eight latest 5g. I think it's the x60, but don't quote me on that from uh Qualcomm for the 5g capabilities.

I have had a perfect 5g reception with this device as well. It's fast, it's fluid it's classic OnePlus, but now the missing link the improvement the cameras. This one has also got wireless charging, which is 15 watts. That's one. Five.

The pro has got 50 watts, which is five zero um, that's only in North America and Europe. So there's no wireless charging, if you're not in those markets, but those devices, the OnePlus 9's in the other markets are about half a millimeter thinner, so it's a trade-off, but at least you've got it, but to charge it with the cable come on, there's no official IP rating. As far as I'm aware, um, there is a rubber gasket around the sim card tray inside. I won't show you that now, but overall, I'm extremely impressed by this extremely impressed. I would recommend this.

Definitely if you think the pro is worth the extra 200 pounds by all means: go for it if you can't afford it. This is a very. This hasn't got the telephoto lens of the pro. The pro has got a bit slightly better screen slightly bigger screen, but I'll do another video comparing this to the pro model, the differences I'm also going to do a video comparing this to the OnePlus 8 and whether you should upgrade from that to this.
