Lenovo LP40 Unboxing and Review! The Airpods and Airpods Pro Alternative!

Airport's alternative is a super famous genre, and companies are starting to create some pretty cool Frankenstein earbuds that are pretty cool to see. Um we have now evolved to see hybrid between an airport and airport's pro alternative, and today's offering from Lenovo is exactly that. So will they be any good. Welcome to a review of the Lenovo live pods lp40, hello. My name is Sean and welcome back to my channel if you're new here I do a lot of tech reviews as well as unboxing, and if that is something that interests you do consider subscribing to this channel, leave a thumbs up on this video as well share this video to all your friends around and with that said, let's get on with the review of the Lenovo LP 40. , so these earbuds are sent over to me by canonical, and although these earbuds are sent over to me, I will still be providing my honest opinions.

So you know what you're getting into before buying these earbuds. One thing I want to highlight- and it's probably the first I've ever encountered in testing an earbud like that- and these earbuds works well with android, but I'm not too sure if it's just my copy, but when it's connected to the iPhone 12 Pro, it makes the entire UI all the apps and even my recording app crashed. So that's my disclaimer and the following review is mainly on the Samsung note 10. , so these euro bus retails for about 16, Malaysia, ringgit, and that translates to about us 14. Again.

This is a super budget piece of earbuds, and although we've checked out previous Lenovo earbuds, I still don't really know if these earbuds are really from Lenovo or is it an OEM product and if you're interested in buying these earbuds do check out some of my links in the description below. So when I first took these out of the box. I was really quite excited because of the build of this thing, and it's actually pretty decently, built and really feels like a shrink down version of the AirPods Pro. The case is made of the same type of plastic like the AirPods Pro, and it's very smooth and really nice at the front of it. You get the Lenovo branding, which I think in this case is really tastefully done and at the back of the case, you'll also be getting a button when you press on it, and you'll be able to see a small faint led under that.

That tells you the battery life of the case, but I believe green means that your battery is pretty much full and red means you have to charge it up at the bottom. You get an USB charging port and, as you plug it in the LED at the back of the case, will blink red to indicate that it is charging opening. The lid feels nice, but the lid feels a little thin, and it does take away the illusion of a high quality product like the AirPods Pro. The hinge behind is also not weighted, so as you tilt them around, the lid will slam shut. But one thing I want to point out of Lenovo actually made the lip slamming sound, very similar to what you get on the AirPods Pro case and inside you see a unique looking earbuds, which is a hybrid between the airports and the AirPods Pro.

So this is like a Frankenstein's monster type of earbuds, so I think Lenovo did a very good job in copying the style and the look of the AirPods Pro, and even has this black van at the back of the earbuds similar to the airbus pro. So Lenovo also tries to mimic the squeeze motion of the AirPods Pro to control the earbuds. But in this case it's very much like a touch sensor rather than a squeeze control and it kind of makes the operation a little clumsy and frankly, not that classy. So the tip of the earbuds is not as complicated as the AirPods Pro, and you don't get all those senses from the AirPods Pro and the tip here is actually an airport style, ear tips rather than in-ear earbuds. So if you ask me, I think these are really for the people who are looking to get the AirPods Pro look, but don't want to pay the apple tax.

So I think, if you're up for that kind of thing, then these earbuds will really suit your needs and in terms of the battery performance, I think these are kind of pathetic. If you ask me, and at three hours of battery life at moderate volume level, listening to this at higher volumes, I would expect it to go about 2 hours or maybe less. The battery of the case is also not fantastic and gives you about 9 hours of additional charge and giving you a total of 12 hours of battery life, and these earbuds takes about one and a half hours to fully charge. So the specs of the lp-40 is really simple. Coming with a Bluetooth 5.0, which supports the AAC and SBC audio codec. So honestly, nothing fantastic here.

These are marketed as sweat proof, but nowhere on the website mentions an yip rating, but I would assume these to have maybe an ipx3 or four, but that's just my speculation. These earbuds also come with super seamless, mono and stereo mode, so using either side of the earbuds is really easy, and connection is very straightforward. Lastly, there is no multi-point connectivity on this earbud, so you can still connect them to multiple devices, just not at the same time, if you're thinking to buy these earbuds for great sound quality, I would advise you to look elsewhere, and I don't think these have good sound quality and similar to the Lenovo xt90 that we looked at previously. These sound, really cheap, and I'm going to bring back that passamalam term. So this sound, like your passion, alarm, earbuds, so really disappointing, and these earbuds lack definition, mid and highs kind of sound muddy, and since these are AirPods alternative, there's close to no bass on these earbuds.

I know this sounds kind of harsh, but if these earbuds is really developed by Lenovo, I think they are really giving their brand a awful name and QC can launch an equivalent price earbuds and would sound miles better, just check out the icy t7, unless you're really desperately looking for that AirPods Pro loop, but don't want to pay the apple tax then definitely get these earbuds. But if you care about music, definitely look somewhere else. The call quality of the LP 40 is okay, not the best I've heard- and this gives you a very clear call, quality. In most situations, background noises still gets through quite a bit, but your voice still gets through nice and clearly anyways. Let's take a listen to the cold quality test of these earbuds.

So this is the test to see the Lenovo. Lp-40 is a good ear buds from making phone calls. So this is really making a relatively quiet environment, and this is the call quality that you can expect. So what I'm going to do now turn on a simulated background noise, so you can hear the difference so now, there's a stimulated background. Light playing in the background- and this is the call quality that you can expect from the earbuds.

So what do you think of the call quality? Let me know in the comment section down below the latency performance on these earbuds is okay, not the lowest latency, but for the price point and the spec that the earbuds come with, I would say that they perform decently. Well, gaming is pretty nice on this, and, although you get a very tiny amount of delay, they are actually quite enjoyable. So, needless to say, watching videos on these are pretty nice anyways. Let's take a look at the latency performance of these earbuds, so the controls of the lp-40 is okay, but I won't say that that touch sensor or squeeze control is the most sensitive ones out there. Unlike the AirPods Pro, although the AirPods Pro squeeze action has very limited function, but it's precise and this what it sets out to do to play your pause media touch once on either side of the earbuds, and it will play or pause your media so really nice there and to volume up double tap on the right ear.

Buds and it will slowly volume up and to volume, down double tap on the left, earbuds, and it will volume down so to skip tracks forward, triple tap on the right earbuds, and it will skip forward and triple tap on the left, earbuds, and it will skip backwards and, lastly, to call your assistant just long press on either side of the earbuds, and it should pause your media and pull out your assistant. So let's try that again press and hold there. You go so pull out your assistant, so that's basically all the controls you get with the Lenovo lp-40. So honestly, there's nothing much to summarize, but I just really hope. Companies like Lenovo cared a little more about making better products and not just some cheap knockoff to make a quick buck.

They really make great computers and great monitors, so why can't they make a half decent earbuds, so that is it for this review. If you find this video helpful smash the thumbs up.
