OnePlus 8 Pro Review in 2021: Still Worth It?|Tech Reviews| Phone Reviews|

I, just hey guys, welcome back to sum. I hope you guys are doing great. So let's talk about this phone. This is the OnePlus 8 pro OnePlus flagship device that came out last year in 2020. I know that OnePlus has recently announced the nine pro which is OnePlus flagship device that came out this year, but in this video we're going to talk about the April more specifically whether the pro is still worth it in 2021 one year after the original release date. So let's get right to it all right.

So, first things. First, let's talk about the specs. The variant that I currently have has 12 GB of ram 256 GB of SSD, as well as the snapdragon 865 processors. I know that the OnePlus 9 pro has the AAA processor, which is probably better than this one, but the snapdragon 865 is still a perfect, respectable processor for a phone. Even today, this phone also comes with a fast 120, hertz refresh rate, as well as a 1440p OLED display, and you can actually use both.

At the same time, you can do 120hz refresh rate and 1440p. At the same time, this phone also has a massive 6.8 inch display, which is believed it or not, bigger than the OnePlus 9 pro, which only has a 6.7 inch display all right. So now I just want to talk about OnePlus as a company. So if you look past a couple of years, maybe like five six years ago, OnePlus marketed itself as the flagship killer company, so they would essentially sell these phones that had stellar specs, these flagship phone quality specs for half the price. But now that's not the case anymore.

OnePlus is slowly creeping into that flagship territory. OnePlus wants to market itself as a company. That is a new flagship and that's exactly what they did with this phone, the OnePlus 8 pro they are creeping into that flagship territory and like that they do have flagship specs, like I already mentioned, and then some, for example, this phone has finally an official ip68 water resistant rating. So this phone also has wireless charging the first one plus phone to have it. So you can get 30 watt wireless charging.

If you just buy the wireless charging pad that one plus sells and with that, you can get speeds up to zero to fifty percent and approximately thirty minutes, if you charge wirelessly using the one plus wireless charging pad, or you have the option of charging it wired with the provided. One plus charging brick inside the box, 30 watts two which charges your phone from zero to fifty percent and approximately 20 minutes, and this is usually people's preferences. But another thing I like about OnePlus phones is the fact that it has oxygen OS which, in my opinion, resembles stock android the best out of any other phone company. Okay. Next I want to talk about the camera in this phone, so in the past, OnePlus has been regarded as a company with stellar specs when it came to battery life when it came to the oxygen OS in the phone when it came to just the performance of the phone, but they were criticized for their camera.

The reason why is that many users found the camera to be rather mediocre and subpar in comparison to a lot of other flagship phones like Samsung or apple or google, or what have you, but with this phone? They definitely changed that. So I'm not going to go into a lot of detail when it comes to the camera, because I'm not a tech tuber, you can check out MHD's videos. You can check out Dave 2ds. Basically, all the tech, tubers videos, I'll link, some of them in the description, but I'll give a little of basic detail all right. So this camera setup right here it has four different cameras, so you can see over here that it has a 48 megapixel, ultrawide camera.

It has a 12 megapixel, telephoto camera. It has a 48 megapixel main camera, and it also has a 5 megapixel color filter camera. So the camera quality on this phone is generally perfect, especially the 12 megapixel telephoto camera. When you compare it to past cameras like the 7 pro, which is the predecessor to this phone photos on the camera, come out really well, and next, I'm going to be showing you guys some sample photos that I took on this phone. So if you're in the market for a new phone, and you're deciding between the OnePlus 8 pro or the nine pro, I think the OnePlus 8 pro is definitely the one to go with and here's the reason why the OnePlus 9 pro is going to run you up to a thousand seventy bucks for the same configuration, which is almost a 300 difference, because you can pick up this phone today on Amazon for approximately 700.

, with tax, it's going to get you to 750 versus the OnePlus 9 pro for the same configuration is going to run you up to possibly 1100, maybe even more, which is a big price difference. So really the only three things you're missing out on when it comes to this phone versus the nine pro is first, the chipset, which is the snapdragon AAA processor versus the snapdragon 865 processor number, two, which is the camera which, in my opinion, isn't really a dealbreaker, because even though they did partner with Hasselblad on the camera, the camera quality isn't that much different according to a lot of YouTubers again, you can check out the reviews of the YouTubers that released the nine pro review, videos and number three, which is probably going to be quoted unquote the biggest dealbreaker is the charging speeds, the 9 pro charging speeds are incredibly fast, especially with wire charging, as well as the wireless charging you can get up to 65 watt, wire charging and 50 wireless charging, which is a huge difference. But if you take a look at it, this phone battery is technically a little bigger in comparison to the 9 pro and 30 watt. Wireless and 30 watt wire charging is still really respectable for the price that you're paying for the phone. So that was my review of the OnePlus.

A pro, I hope you guys enjoyed it and if you did then definitely consider, subscribing and dropping a like, and I'll talk to you guys in the next one. Take care.
