Note20 Ultra - 30 Day Real World Review!

This is the Galaxy Note 20 ultra. This is Samsung's most technology forward phone lineup. Now, with the inclusion of their new flipping and folding phones. Does the note still have what it takes to hold my attention and demand a premium price tag? I'm Kevin the tech ninja, and this is my 30-day review of the Galaxy Note 20 ultra in my real world videos. I don't really dig into specs too much as those things are not very important when dealing with a phone day-to-day, but I do put the specs up on the screen for you to reference. When I do mention a couple of things.

The note 20 ultra starts at 12.99, which definitely is an expensive starting price for a phone there's also the note 20, which has a 9.99 starting price and that phone actually has a lot of things missing from it, and we'll talk about that in a different video over the years. The note lineup has seen small changes' year over year from the smaller bezels to smaller, chins, to slimmer and more skirt off design and s pen enhancements, but mainly it's the camera that has seen the biggest changes from the dual cameras on the 9 to the triple vertical cameras on the 10 plus and now this thick cluster on the 20 ultra with the inclusion of the laser autofocus and space zoom. This is the best Samsung in hand experience I've had in a while, mainly due to the back of the phone. It's no longer slippery glossy smudgy glass, it's like a frosted back, and it feels good and doesn't have many fingerprints, and it just makes using the phone a lot more user-friendly and the phone only comes in a few colors, but I really dig the mystic bronze, but if you're ready to switch it up, my sponsor brand has something for you for under 20 bucks. You can totally switch up how the phone looks with one of their premium vinyl skins, so many color combinations, so many styles, and so many textures.

It just makes for an entertaining experience. Decking out your phone hit my link down below to d brand your device looking at the front of the phone, it is nearly all screen. There is a small cutout for the camera, which is very non-intrusive and Samsung's default. Wallpaper has an excellent job at hiding it soon. There will be cameras under the screen where you don't need to cut out at all, but until then I think this is the best we got, and I think it looks fine.

The performance on the note 20 ultra is very good. Obviously, with the newest snapdragon. Chipset performance will not be an issue at all and also the amount of ram that it has. It's a powerhouse even with Samsung's inclusion of advanced multitasking gaming modes, Microsoft, office integration and a lot of other things that are specific to Samsung requires a lot of processing power and this phone does it with the smoothness. I've never seen a shutter on this phone that may have haunted other Samsung phones in the years past.

This note feels extremely polished, very tight and everything just works well and also storage, isn't an issue with the inclusion of the SD card slot. It's still very handy to have, and I'm thankful that it's still there now. What is notable is that the phone comes shipped at 1080p with 120 hertz, meaning you don't have the highest resolution on the phone that it can put out, but you actually get a faster screen refresh and for the sake of battery life, I think that's the right choice. The screen is more responsive and everything just feels smoother I'll. Do my best to show the difference between the two settings, but even then it's something you need to see in person now I will admit many people can't see the difference and others like me see it as a must-have feature watching videos, movies or even a twitch live stream.

The stream looks really, really good. The colors, the blacks, the brightness, are all top-notch. Samsung screen looks the best out of any phone manufacturers, and now that 120 hertz is the default. This is the best screen to beat period. Now I did mention battery life.

Just a few seconds ago, which is actually one thing that this phone doesn't shine at for my usage, I can get a full day, but instead of around 20 to 30 at bedtime, I'm now at 10 or even sometimes the phone is dying. My day-to-day usage is pretty typical. You know I send a lot of WhatsApp messages, I listen to music or podcasts off and on during the day via Bluetooth. I use Twitter Reddit, and also I may play a couple of games here and there I don't talk on the phone too much in other phones gets me around 20, more battery life at the end of the day, I'm not sure if it gets better with time or software, but it's something I did need to mention battery life isn't horrible, but it is behind the competition in the flagship category camera hardware this year was overhauled by Samsung. They significantly updated the s20 lineup with new optics, and they did the same with the note 20 lineups.

The note 20 ultra is an aggressive camera cluster. It sticks out quite a bit, and it does look better than the s20s. But overall I think it ruins the back of the device. As far as aesthetics I mean look at this thing. It also rocks if you plan to type on your phone while it's laying down or even using the s pen while it's on a surface, you do have three focal points, wide angle, ultra-wide angle and a telephoto zoom.

You can even zoom up to 50x using the space zoom feature. This camera is a Swiss army knife being able to zoom from 5x to 10x is very impressive. Now using the 50x, I say it does work best when you're taking a picture of something large that is far out using the 50x to zoom on something small. The image will be pretty grainy, and you can see the loss of detail. So you do get these focal points, which is great but beyond the focal points.

This reminds me of a galaxy camera. That is a good thing, or that is a bad thing really depends on. You, HDR is aggressive, giving you some cool, looking shots when you're taking pictures outside, and you have clouds and buildings, but I don't think it's realistic. It gives you Instagram ready images which for cell phone, it makes sense. You know, since these images are going on social media they're not being printed out or color corrected, I totally get why Samsung made that decision now for human subjects.

It looks pretty realistic in regular mode in most lighting situations, and it also has decent depth of field, but portrait mode, which is called live, focus still lightens the skin and smooths the skin out and for moving objects. Like my son, it's tough to get a consistent image. Look at the results of me. Trying to snap live focus mode of my son, who wasn't moving that much. I do find video mode on the note 20 to be exceptional, and the stabilization is top-notch.

I think industry leading even the zoom lenses works in video and the mics can pick up sound even when you're zooming in overall. The camera has a lot of modes too many dimension in this video, but all the usual suspects that you can expect from a great camera there. The s pen isn't something. I often used to be quite honest as I find writing pretty difficult. The s pen is small, and the screen is kind of small to write on it's just really hard.

For me, I do find the s pen is actually useful when using the screen off memo. This is where you can take the s pen out of the bottom of the phone when the screen is off, and you can jot things down quickly. So I would use this when doing some quick math. If I need to multiply something or writing down measurements when working around the house. But beyond that, like writing a complete sentence- that's really tough for me, but as far as apps pretty much everything that you've seen before is still here now.

One of the most significant changes is the notes. App has a lot of things in here that we'd expect from a note app the notes, app, has syncing and being able to copy and paste from different apps right into notes, and that's really nice now I will say the integration directly into Microsoft. Suites is a big deal for people who use this phone for their standard enterprise work, and also it can read your writing and translate it into text. I don't have a need for that, as most people can type faster than writing, but I can see that someone write something down, really quick, pushing a button, and then it converts it into text, and it actually does a great job. It did it with my chicken scratch, so I'm sure it can do it with yours and that's the thing.

A lot of the features on the s pen are only great if you use them. I know a few people who live and die by the s, pen and maximize its abilities and their die hard note fans which is cool to me. The phone starts to feel like a galaxy s which isn't a bad thing, but I just don't take advantage of the s pen features as I could, or as I should- and this leads me to my final point here. The note lineup for Samsung, which was Samsung's experimental device, started off the trend of huge screens, giving you a stylus, because the screen was so big. Now that big screens are the norm, the note has not evolved much now, don't get me wrong, it's a great phone, and it's fantastic, but it does not change anything and that's where the next generation of phones come into play.

Like the z-fold 2. , I have a feeling the note lineup will be gone soon, and it'll merge into the s lineup. The z-fold will be the new note, and we'll see another innovation down the line that is beyond the z-fold 2. And that's how it works. We continue to move forward, continue to evolve, and I don't think the note is doing that.

Remember before these edges were curved. There was the edge addition for phones and then the edge became the new normal and I think folding phones would just be the phone of the future. We've been saying this for a while now that we think we have reached the end of mobile devices for this generation as far as what's to come in tech, and we're on the cusp of new technology right now, so it means that if you're not innovating, you're becoming boring, the note 20 ultra is a good phone. But it's hard to get excited about this phone right now, because the next innovation is just around the corner, anyways guys, I'm Kevin the tech ninja. Peace.
