Apple Watch Series 6 - Top New Features!

This is a great time to preview. All the features of the Apple Watch Series six being launched tomorrow at the apple time flies event. So all the information about the watch series six and a possible second device in the Apple Watch line up, so maybe a more affordable device coming this time as well. So, firstly, we come to the design of the Apple Watch Series six. That is the name that most people are giving this and apparently no external design changes this time around so a very similar or exactly the same design as the series 5. But a lot of internal improvements, a lot of OS improvements, we know, watch OS 7 is coming, so there's a lot of new features and actually on the inside.

Definitely not the same at all. One of the most notable changes will be a new color scheme. Definitely a new blue color, so we're going to have new blue watch straps as well. Blue is the color of apple. This year it's been heavily rumored that we're getting a blue iPhone 12 as well replacing the green color that we had last time.

So the Apple Watch is keeping this color scheme as well, so a blue Apple Watch, or at least the straps in terms of the chipset powering the Apple Watch. A new system on a chip will be there. This may be called the s6 chipset, so it's not going to be a massive jump over the s5, but apparently according to Ming chi, core, better Wi-Fi and cellular on this watch. So better connectivity faster speeds both on cellular and, if you're at home, using Wi-Fi. That means you can maybe transfer things from the watch to your phone.

Also, if you do use the watch as a monitor, you can do that with the iPhone. So if you do have very fast speeds between them, that is just going to speed everything up make that feature in particular a lot easier to use. According to leaks, we know that the battery is getting bigger physically, so that will be a 303.8 William hour battery versus the 296 William hour battery in the watch series 5. , so yeah not really a big jump at all. But, to be honest, if the actual uh size of the watch and the design isn't changing, then the fact that they've made the battery bigger means they have made the design on the inside a little better to fit a tiny bigger battery in there.

There won't really be any big battery improvements because of this. It's a small addition, but every little helps with this, and certainly with watch OS 7. We would hope to see some better battery saving from the software as well. Another hardware upgrade for the series: six is better water resistance, so expect to be able to keep it underwater longer and also go deeper down. So definitely not a dive watch, maybe, but certainly some improvements to waterproofing overall.

So that's no bad thing and a big new feature expected is blood oxygen monitoring this time on the watch series 6. That had been rumored for a few years and apparently the hardware is actually in a couple of apples, previous watches, but they never activated it due to some consistency errors, but it is heavily expected for blood oxygen monitoring to be coming as standard on the series. Six. We know this because it was actually found in iOS 14 code, a lot of references to blood oxygen monitoring, so heavily expected this time. Around Apple will probably go quite heavy into this one.

This follows on from heart rate, monitoring as well. That literally has saved countless lives. You always see those stories either on Twitter in the news saying that someone either had a heart attack or they fell off their bike up a mountain and the full detection in the watch actually basically saved their lives. So I think this is just another thing that apple do want to add onto the watch series 6 and heavily expected to be there. Another feature that they are expected to put onto this watch is sleep tracking and sleep monitoring, so you can wear the watch in bed, and it's going to give you all the stats in terms of how long you've slept for and all of your sleep patterns, I have tested out a few other watches, not apple watches, but android watches that do this, and they're not the most accurate is, I guess, quite difficult to monitor you in your sleep, but I guess it's going to do it through.

Maybe your heart rate or something interesting to see how this comes. Other features found in iOS 14 suggest that the watch will tell you, if you're going to wear it to bed that you need at least 30 charge on there for it to do its thing, which is quite a lot of charge, for I guess a nighttime when you won't be using it that much but yeah interesting to know that also matches in with another hardware leak that we got, that fast charging may be coming to apple products, or at least an apple product. On that September 15 event, which could be the Apple Watch, because if you wear it overnight and the battery is very low in the morning, then you are going to want to charge that pretty quickly. So that may be a feature coming to the Apple Watch Series 6. Mental health tracking is coming.

This is going to be a lot harder for apple to pull off, because the other measurements are absolute. Your heart rate, your blood oxygen. You can just measure that and tell you the number, but obviously with mental health. It's going to try and essentially use those other measurements to try and guess how you're feeling and if you are stressed in any way, there's going to be an app. That's basically going to try and calm you down in terms of your heart rate, maybe give you some breathing exercises so yeah again interesting to see how that one comes new.

Also in watch OS 7 are a bunch of new display features, so you're going to get loads of new complications, apparently altitude latitude, longitude and sleep they're, all going to be some different watch faces that you can use at different times. Sleep tracking will be there, as I said, and apparently a new fitness app just called fitness. This may come on the Apple Watch also on the iPhone 12, and this may actually feature apple's new subscription service. So we've heard that apple may be coming out with kind of like a pellet and like subscription service, where you can actually do lots of different things, and this will go hand in hand with the watch so yeah interesting, that's definitely coming as well. We also have an Easter egg dough, and that is the leak that apple may be, bringing a cheaper entry-level version of the Apple Watch.

So, as we know they do sell the other series. We have five at the moment, but they do sell the older series. This time apple may be launching two watches at the event, so the Apple Watch Series six and then an entry-level model that has been dubbed the watch s e for right now internally, apparently, these might be being called. The Apple Watch and Apple Watch pro, but SC might make sense. Apple released the iPhone SE this year as an entry level.

Having a watch SE may make a lot of sense in terms of branding, but I guess we'll find out very, very soon in terms of the hardware of that cheaper Apple Watch. It could come in two sizes, a 40 millimeter and a 44 millimeter. However, it is rumored that both always on display and also ECG functions will be left out of that watch to keep the cost down. So that's two really great features of the Apple Watch left out. The reason why always on display may be left out is because of possible.

Cheaper OLED display components, difficult to know right now, but always on display with the Apple Watch usually uses a LPO OLED display. So it can basically draw nothing on the battery, not sure why that feature would be left out, whether it's a hardware issue or whether Apple just wants to differentiate the cheaper and the more expensive models. Other rumors say that the cheaper watch may be made of plastic or a polycarbonate to keep the cost down. That's not very apple, though they usually just take an old design and don't change it at all and then just put some new internal components in there exactly what they did with the iPhone SE this year, and so we could assume that it's maybe coming as like an Apple Watch Series 4 design, but with some different internals. We also get this leaked poster.

This was posted on apple insider. This is from retailer target in the states, and it does show what is being called the Apple Watch Series 6, then an x and a nine. We could assume three nine, which is what the watch series five came at, so possibly no price heights. According to this poster. Anyway, I would take this one with a pinch of salt.

It looks to have been made internally, but really no intentions to use so yeah a lot to know about the Apple Watch Series. Six, it is exciting. The price is expected to say more or less the same, but a bunch of new features. Let me know all your thoughts in the comments, as always thanks for watching this one, though that's it for now thumbs up. If you liked it, and I'll see you in the next one.
