Meizu M3 Note $120 Smartphone Review, How Does It Compare?

Oh, welcome to Dan does, and today we are reviewing a smartphone. This is the mile om3 note or the note 3. Now it's a 5.5 inch android phone, and you might be saying the other a lot of android phones out there. Why are we reviewing this one? Well, this one sells for about 120 bucks. Now we normally don't talk about price right from the start, but really the key here is that you can get a smartphone 5.5 inch thumbprint reader. You know a lot of cool features that you would pay a lot of money on Apple and Samsung for at a much lower price.

We decided to check it out and see what you get for that money. So, let's take a closer look. Alright, so let's start off giving you an overall look and feel for this thing. So as you see the single button down there at the bottom, we're just going to pan up to this first thing that comes to mind. This looks like an iPhone, so let's get that out of the way.

Now that's a compliment to the maze note 3, because this thing, as we said it sells for about one hundred twenty dollars a lot less than an iPhone. So 5.5-inch screen this symbol button down here it can have a number of functions. You can tap it, and you will be able to go back, or you can press it, so we're going to get to that some different functionality. But that's why you don't see the back and the ability to drop the multiple apps with buttons that you normally see in an android you're, going to see their swipes that you do to do this. That's pretty cool we'll get to that, but just want to give you the overall look of it.5.5-inch screen, it's an aluminum alloy! It's a 6000, aluminum-alloy body, I'm just going to turn it over here against. You can get a feel for the body and the reason why we're kind of focusing on this is that, normally, when you hear something that sells for about 200 bucks for a phone like this you're going to think yeah not well-designed, you know, you expect it to be kind of cheap, looking, probably jagged edges, but want to show you this, because it really feels nice in the hand I mean it's really well-designed for something that inexpensive, so we're going to do now is, let me just take you through will give you some more looks at it, so you can get a feel for all the different functionality of it, but also the design of it.

So let's go ahead and turn it on and talk about some functionality all right as we're looking at the phone um. This is using a fly me skin on top of Android, so things are a little different in terms of the configuration of stuff, but you get used to it. But if you are used to kind of Samsung your standard Android skin, the fly me is a little different. It's very iPhone like so, if you're coming from iPhone world you're going to feel very comfortable with it. So one talk about again, so this button here are number features.

It is a fingerprint reader. This is the M touch button, so that's cool, but in addition, I'll just go ahead. I'm going to open up the Play Store here to save something else. Open I want to show you that the way this works is so that normally you'd say alright. Where is that low back button? Why there is no back button here? But if you check this up, you just tap this button here.

That is the same as going back and then, if you want to call up the open apps, if you just swipe up from anywhere as you see, we now see the open apps, and we can call that up. So just that's part of the fly, my skin, so that's not particular just to this phone, but we would actually like the functionality. If that feels better you just kind of take. Your thumb me come up like that and then, if you want to go back on anything, you just tap this and if you wanna we'll just go back into something, and if you want to go back to the home screen, you actually press it, and you go back. So that's something which is, we think, is actually pretty nice about.

This fly me skin. In terms of the rest of it I mean we could go through and show you an android phone, but I'm sure many of you have seen that what we're going to do is we'll take you through all the specs as we go through their website and give you all the specs, but we just want to actually kind of give you a feel for the phone. Let's now go over the different, we'll go over the sides of in the different connectors on it, and we'll look at some hardware features. Alright, so uses a 2.5 d front panel. It's an unibody design.

So, as you take a look at us, we show you these angles again. Very smooth we're impressed of this price point to have this kind of smooth feel to it feels good in the hand like we say that 6,000 aluminum-alloy body composition to it, and we're just going to show you as we're over here so standard controls. You've got the volume over here up down, and then you have your power as well, so nothing too exciting over. There were pretty standard. On top.

We have a headphone jack here, we're going to come over on the side. I should say here you can put in it uses a sim card. You can also put in a micros, so you can expand. The memory of it comes a little tool to pop this open, but right and here's where you slip in your sim card and your micros, if you like in there and then going down on the bottom, that's where you're going to find the speakers in the micro USB, which is how you're going to charge it up, and we're just going to flip it over here to the back, where you'll see the camera again we're going to go over the specs on this but uses a pretty nice camera, the focusing not as quick as you're funding, some the higher end phones, but we'll go for all those specs there, but just showing you on the back here again kind of real smooth look to it on the back. To give you another angle here, so you can see sue if you hold this in your hand, know what's going to come up to you and say: hey where'd, you get that cheap phone.

You know it really has a nice look to it on. If that's that important to you but has a good feel to it, and the quality really looks like something you would expect to pay more in the four to seven hundred dollar range. Okay, we've jumped over to the website, so we can show you some features here, and we'll have a link below to all these facts was a little silly in a video to spend too much time talking about specs when we can just provide you with the link, but just talking here about the 6000 series, aluminum alloy body very symmetrical. As we said, unibody design feels good in the hand they talk about their oxidation process, to really give it an incredible touch, and it does feel nice me something about holding it 2.5 d front panel. We talked about that and does again it just makes it look more elegant, and it's just smoother and does feel good in the hand um here we're talking about the processor and again this is a little of a mixed bag.

You know here they talk about all the advantages of the processor I'm, not really familiar with this processor. All I notice is that, as we played some higher-end games, we had some lags, so your mileage will vary, but that was our experience. Nothing terrible, but just some lag battery was actually very impressive, showing here 40 100 mill, amp, and this battery did last a long time. You know it can be up to 12. Hours really depends on how you use if you've got GPS running and Wi-Fi, and all that it'll be a little less talking about the main board here: heart steady.

This is just some kind of technical stuff of what they can fit on that board and then the M touch 2.1. We do like. So that's a fingerprint reader and then also this is the bottom button here where, if you press it is'll go back to the home screen, but if you just tap it, it goes back one screen, so it's a multifunction button and that's pretty nice, then the 5.5-inch full HD displays. So again this looked really nice. You know it's a little hard to kind of quantitatively describe this.

You know not as nice as our Samsung s7 edge, or maybe a high-end iPhone, but definitely nice enough to look at photos watching movie things like that. So you know you're not going to get it as nice as the 78 Nigeria phones, but very impressive for 120 dollar phone and then the camera, 13, megapixel and I believe they're using actually a Samsung camera in here we did notice that you know it works well, and we're going to show you an example in a minute, but it works well like in a stay each shot and with good lighting when you get into low lighting, and you get into fast-moving subject, I, don't know whether it's software or hardware but doesn't have the same kind of capabilities like a s7 has which really kind of focuses on some of those key features of the camera. But again you know for everyday use, pretty good. So that's a quick look at the specs like I, said: we'll have a link on below this video, which goes over the specs in and what services available, depending on what you live in, and pricing, and things like that, but just kind of want to give you a feel with some hardware behind this. Our DB will feel for the display we're going to play a video here, and you can both hear the audio and check out some video display here.

So, as you see it's a nice display, I'm going to cost us just so we can talk over it. Um a nice display. You know it's not going to rival what you got to get a high-end Samsung or apple phone. It's not quite as vivid, not quite as bright, but it is plenty good. You know.

If you're going to watch some videos, look at some photos. It works really well I'm a little more reflective. Maybe then we would like. But again, you know this price point it's hard to complain, so just want to show you that, in terms of the processor, and again we're going to go over and look at all the specs on it, the one thing a little of a downer on it is that it's just not as fast if you're playing some games and things like that, you really do notice a bit of the lag if you're, just kind of using apps, and you're going to use this to go on the web and check email things like that social media you're not going to for problem at all. If you're looking to do some high-end gaming with that you might find the processor here does lag a little, and it's not really up to the specs.

Some of the more higher-end smartphones, all right. Bad news live real time tested with the camera here. So you can see it just want to show you some settings here again. You know this is pretty full-featured in terms of HDR guidelines level, gauge manual meter time mark as he got video photo your kind of standard stuff. You'd expect to see any of the high-end phones time-lapse, just try to bring that up over here.

So you can see there is you know, time our time-lapse, selfie special effects, all the different filters, so you know very much what you would expect to see in any you know of these high-end smartphones. What we're going to do right now got a little subject here, which is our little stuffed animal monkey we're going to take a picture right now, and then we'll show it to you. So we can take a look at how it looks all right, we're taking a picture that we're going to call it up. Then we're just going to take a look at that and talk a little about it. So here it is kind of coming here, so you can see it, so I'll zoom in you know it's fine! I mean it's its like was sup.

I mean it's, it's good! It's not! You know. We use the Samsung Galaxy s7 edge, which has some real sophisticated stuff for the camera. I feel it's a little brighter and more vivid. But again this is selling for about 120 to 150 here in the US, and look at that I mean there's nothing that bad about it. We will say, if you're in low light conditions and trying to do something, you know shoot a fast-moving object and low light.

It's not going to work that well, the camera just doesn't keep up. So we want to be about that. But something like this we've got a subject. You need to take a picture. You know there.

It is conceived of zoom in on the hair, and you can see it actually looks pretty good. Ah, so that was a quick camera test again. You know, I think it's the right phone for the right budget, all that what you're looking for, if you're looking for super high-end camera you're not going to go with this, but in terms of a smartphone that has a nice camera takes a decent picture. This is going to work. Well, all right and finally, we just want to go over everything you get in the box.

Of course, you get the mile om3 note or the note 3 self, which we've gotten over. Of course, you get the phone that's key, but want to show you actually comes in a nice. Looking boxing, it's well packaged again. Nothing really cheap feeling about this. This is a little tool, so you can ensure you insert your SD card or micro SD.

Just to help you open that up, then we're going to open this up to show you underneath again how comes packaged, and then you've got your micro USB and an adapter in there. So that's what you get with it, so nice little package. So there you go. That's a quick look at the mile om3 note! Overall, you know it's not going to replace if you're looking to get an iPhone, 6 or Samsung s7. You know those still have some high-end features which you're not going to get here, but if you're looking for, like just a nice smartphone with a nice five and a half inch screen something large to watch movies on and just to travel around with, and also maybe not care that much.

If something happened to this, if you break this you're breaking something which is 120 dollars as opposed to drop in your you know, iPhone or Samsung, which could be seven hundred fifty dollars. So there is a market for that 20, and we didn't talk about phone quality that seemed fine. We did that I have five gigahertz. You know 2.4 as well, so skin all the standard stuff. You would expect in a smartphone just a little less of everything that camera not quite a shock the processor.

If you play games, that's maybe our biggest kind of con TU it just doesn't really keep up as much as you get on the Samsung or an apple. But again that's the most people who are really gaming with it for the ninety-five percent of people who use the phone just to make some calls texts through social media check email, the web. This is going to work fine. So that's a quick look at the mile om3 note coming over to dad. Does that comp of a full review over on the site.
