LG Velvet 5G Unboxing (USA version) By Brian Fagioli

Hey, what's up YouTube Brian phenol here, and today we're doing an unboxing of the new LG Velvet 5g. This phone was released a little while ago overseas, but just came out in the United States, so we have the LG velvet. This particular one is the AT&T variants. I believe the eighteen team model is the only one out that's out now. The Verizon and T-Mobile models will come out later this summer, in addition to the actual phone, I also have the LG dual screen attachment for this phone and a cool case for the phone as well. So the first thing we're going to do is we're going to unbox, the phone so on the side here, there's a little piece of tape, and we're just going to cut into the tape close up the knife and take a look okay.

So the first thing right on top is the phone. So we're gonna. Look at that last of course, because that's just what we do important it can wait. Distracted driving is never okay, do not text and drive people. That's just not cool.

It's not smart. Let's see this then, let's pop and then there's weird packaging here and then this holds up again, and we have let's see LG velvet, let's get started, and it's just a get started booklet: how to take a picture, how to record a video and if you're, like a smartphone expert, you've been using smartphone: smart, smartphones for years. This is all like normal stuff to you, but maybe someone's just getting the first smartphone, or they're moving from iPhone to Android. These tips could actually come in really handy keeping your phone secure, calling family and friends like it's like literally how to make a phone call, how to send a text message for most folks. It's not going to be necessary, but I like that.

It's there that's cool. We have turned your phone to a digital wallet with LG pay, so a description of LG pay here and LG is committed to giving you peace of mind, we're so confident equality, blah blah blah. Let's see with the manufactures first year limited warranty, we offer free second year limited warranty coverage upon registration. So if you register your device, you get I guess the second year of us of coverage on your device. We also have a sim tool here, which is not the fanciest sim tool of seeing, let's see if I can get out, get it open.

Okay, it is this tiny little doodad there, no branding on it not like you know it doesn't have any kind of LG logo on it's just a piece of wire, but that's ancient that you need. We have here a type a2, type-c, cable for charging, and I guess for data as well. If you need to use it for data, and we have LG fast charger. So this is a fast charge charger. It is not type c2 type C, it's type, a to type C, so this would plug into the side, and then this would plug into your phone to charger.

That's all that is in the box. So let's put that stuff away. Oh, and I should also mention that there's a product safety and warranty information booklet here as well that nobody will read. Ok, put that to the side and let's look at the device. So I apologize in advance because I'm sure there is going to be glare from my lighting if there is, but let's go ahead and take off this protective sleeve.

There's me this just slides off, which is kind of cool. You don't have to worry about like peeling anything off. Let's see, just going to take the little sticker off the back and let's look at the back, so Wow there's a not for sale sticker here, because it is a review unit sent out to reviewers such as yours. Truly, this is the silver Aurora model, so you can kind of see it's silver shiny, it's really shiny, and it has like a rainbow like effect going on. If you see when I go like this with the lighting, it's actually really beautiful, but it is kind of blinding with the effectiveness of the light, but beautiful phone on the back.

Here we have this new teardrop style that they have, so we have three cameras and a flash and the bigger main camera is on the top and there's the other two cameras here. You can kind of see the 18 t logo if I turn it with the light there. So there is 18 T branding on the phone on the bottom. We have USB type-c and a 3.5 millimeter 3.5 millimeter headphone jack, now I love that it has this that's great. But from what I understand this doesn't have the quad DAC that previous LG devices have had.

So, unfortunately, you might not have that, like insane sound quality from that quad DAC that they offered, but still it should be fine, you're, probably going to be fine without it. On the side here it looks like this is probably a power button on the top. We see the SIM card tray and a microphone hole, and on this side we see a volume, rocker and another button. So I don't know if maybe this is power or if this is like a assistant button or if, on the other side, this is the assistant, but I'm, not sure on the front. Here we can see that there is a camera, and it is a notch.

It's a small notch, but let's go ahead and alright. First thing I want to do: let's just go ahead and open up the sim tray, because I wanted to show that as well. So we're going to put the little thing in the hole here so from the factory I, don't think, there's any kind of SIM card in here. Oh, there actually is. It came with an AT&T SIM and there's also a spot for a micros card nice.

So, yes, there is a spot for a micros, so you can add in a micros card to hang in oh and I, just learned that I believe I guess this is power because I just held that down and start it up. So it's alright, ok, so the phone is now started up, and we see immediately I have looks like it's. Jeff is trying to connect to 5g. Oh no, it's connected to 5g, it's actually on 5g, but before we do anything with the phone I'm going to see. Is this the power button here or is this the assistant button? Does this week the phone? No ok! So this side is the power button, so the one on the right is the power.

But let's also look at some other things here, so we have the LG dual display, and I'm just going to go ahead and open that guy up think there's tape. Is there table yeah right on the top here? There's a piece of tape, ok and where to take that out. So this is the dual display attachment and again this is not attached either this just kind of slides off I like this. That LG is doing this, which is very easy to slide off the protective plastic. This looks really nice on the back.

We have this nice silver bumps, which is good for grip, whoa, there's a second screen inside we have. This is to charge it's a magnetic dongle, so the USB type-c cable plugs in here, and then it just connects right there to wirelessly or not wirelessly to magnetically charged I should say: let's go ahead and put this into the case, so just like, so I guess make sure I get this right that plugs into the type-c and then snaps down so with the phone. In the case, you would open it up. Oh, look at that. So we see on the top there the time the date I guess, there's text messages, 53% battery, that's really nice and what's cool about these cases, is that you use them for like gaming.

So you can have your game up here and then down here, use this as like a controller which is really cool. So that's the dual screen case, but let's also look at this other really cool case. This paint with this doesn't ship with the phone when I see here, there's also a Quick Start Guide, which I won't look at either, but so this also came from LG. This does not ship with the phone, but it's a case for it. So let's say you don't want the dual screen device, but you still want to protect your phone.

This is design skin. This is wow. This is beautiful. What is it letting's say, design skin? Let's see design, scan diligently studies and care the value, you're satisfied and content, ok, design, plus we will do our best to satisfy and delivering value to customers. So there's some like broken English there.

This is made in Korea, oh what's in the bottom, is there anything in that box? Let's say: is there anything in here, just look at fun, so this might just be packaging. But let's see if there's anything inside there is nothing inside okay. So this is the case is gorgeous um. It says design skin made in Korea, but it's like a snake skin on the back. It's like a leather I, don't know if it's real or not, but it feels really nice.

Furthermore, it feels real is beautiful. So let's go ahead and take the phone out of the case, so I believe I'm, not mistaken. I. Think there's supposed to be a button that you press, but maybe on this new model you just kind of pull it out of the case. Let's say I don't want to break it.

Do not want to break the phone. Let's see this out there I don't see a button. Does it just pull out, say man I: don't want to break the phone, let's say: okay, let's look at the, don't think the dual screen came with any book unless that was the book. Maybe that's the Quick Start Guide! Oh no, oh yeah, okay, that Quick Start Guide that I thought I missed from the unboxing earlier I. Guess that's for the dual screen! So, let's see, if I can figure this out here, it's hard to get into this packaging, so I'm just going to go like so plastic and cut open the book a little little, but that's okay! So we're moving the phone from the dual screen press, the one part of the dual screen with your finger while simultaneously pressing the back of the phone with your other fingers.

So it doesn't look like there's a button there, but okay, so press the one part while pressing the rest. Oh my god like this. Does that mean press the one part? Oh okay, and then this pulls down. Okay, alright, cool! Oh, and there is some plastic on the top that peels off well, there's plastic on the bottom. Is there huh I see but okay, so there's the phone? Let's put into this case.

This case has me excited because it's really beautiful wow, that is a beauty. Look at the back holy crap pardon my language with holy crap. So you have this beautiful leather, and you have the TRI camera to your drop on the back with just like the silver now show it's beautiful and wow. That is just a beautiful, beautiful phone and what I like about this phone is for one it has 5g, but it's only 599 dollars and that's the starting price, so 599's like the starting price. If you get it like under contract from AT&T, you could probably get it for less, like maybe like 399, to really have to look at their promotions.

I don't want to speak at a turn here, but look at the promotion's that 18c offers. You probably don't have to pay full price, but anyway, that is the unboxing folks. So we have the device itself. We have the dual screen attachment and this beautiful design skin I'm not familiar with this company design skin made in Korea, but they make nice cases. I'll tell you that there is protection on the corners.

It feels nice and firm and that leather backing and I don't know. If it's a real leather or not I'm, gonna, say I'm going to go out on a limb and say it is, but I'm, not a hundred percent sure, but it is beautiful. The grain is beautiful, there's like three different grain, so you have like this flat leather. Then you have this here and this almost looks like maybe like alligator snake and like regular cow, leather or something it's beautiful though it is beautiful. All the buttons line up volume works perfectly.
