LG Velvet 4G vs 5G version - Speed Test and Full Comparison

On, the left I've got the silver snapdragon 845 version of the lg velvet, which looks absolutely stunning in the silver rainbow color, and it's a dual sim phone on the right. I've got the snapdragon 765g version, which is well 5g, but only a single slot guys coming back to the 845. The speakers are about 5 percent louder and going back to the 5g 3.5 millimeter jack is ever so slightly louder, but the bass is less pronounced. What about the rest of the differences? Well, let me stop the stupid camera angles and put some light into this video and we going to find out hello guys and welcome to vlogging project. Is your favorite YouTuber tony here today, I'm going to do the ultimate performance comparison between the 5g version of the lg velvet running the relatively new snapdragon 765 5g chipset versus the three-year-old flagship, snapdragon 845 powered a bunch of devices, including my all-time favorite Oppo find x so whether that was a good move from lg. To put you know: uh three-year-old chipset on the 4g version we're going to find out in this very video, but in terms of Europe, we've got both versions in India.

They've got the uh 845 version, and they were not very happy about it. So, let's see whether they've got a point or not guys. I definitely prefer in terms of you know, pure colors. I prefer the silver one called the. Furthermore, I don't know aurora silver or something like that to me.

That's a rainbow silver check this out guys. The colors are absolutely crazy on this one well over here, we've got nothing, that's pure black over here. That's why I've put the box by the way the 5g just to remind me which phone is which, in this speed test because they're the same pretty much so yeah. Let's unlock this one, I've set both the um. You know brightness, on both phones.

Let me see 48 49 over here, animations are set to 0.5 on both devices, and let me tell you my observations. First, I've been using those devices for over a month now and day-to-day usage, the snapdragon 845. It's not the better option. Unfortunately, it just feels I wouldn't say lucky, but it just hangs sometimes I think that the optimization is not good on this particular device where over here, everything is just a little ever so slightly smoother but anyways. Let's have a look at the cash job benchmark results, guys on the 5g version over here, 112 fps and over here.140 fps. Both of those are amazing, scores guys, but over here this one is higher.

Let's have a look at why that is the design device info application check this out guys when you have a look at the processors over here, eight cores on both of them and check this out. We've got six mid-range cores, one bigger and one a little bigger, 2.4 gigahertz, where over here we've got four mid-range course 1.77 and four big ones guys in terms of battery life. Both of those are returning about eight hours of screening time, which is absolutely amazing, for you know: 4 000, 300 million bars, considering we have only 1080p screen over here, but anyways we're going to continue with some other applications. So I can show you the results over here guys by the way, I'm filming this video in 4k 60 fps. So that's a perfect representation of uh.

You know the real speed of the phones, single core snapdragon 765g is higher for some reason, but multicore d845 wins over here, guys, I'm going to show the venom that was before the uh. You know an tutu scores by the way. Let me quickly open up the an tutu to show you what happened over there. I don't keep this application anymore, because it's a little dangerous uh, but yeah. Let me show you the an tutu scores over here guys.

Where is the an tutu? Okay? There we go. So when you have a look at the an tutu. What do we get over here? The GPU significantly lower results on the 5g version. The memory yields higher results and over here UX a little higher. I told you the optimization on this.

One is a little better on day-to-day usage, guys and CPU. I don't know why this one scores more, but it makes sense because, as I told you, it is a little smoother indeed guys so anyways back to the llama. What do we have browser a little higher over here, multi-core a little higher and metal a little higher, so all along higher results over here guys on 3d mark over here? Let me show you my results, uh as well as you can see, slingshot extreme considerably higher results by the way my video is reaching the five-minute limit guys. So I'm just going to pause it over here and start a new one. So I'm going to see you in a sec, okay, guys so slingshot extreme way, higher results on the open GL over here.

Moving on to the next benchmark, luxury caf?, benchmark based on the unity. I like those benchmarks guys, and you can see the results over here. The top one is the 5g version and the bottom one is the 845, as you can see on ultra. That's that's! Where we're going to look at pretty much on ultra over here, we've got considerably higher fps and still a bunch of games are based on the um. You know unity engine so moving on pretty much with the benchmarks.

I don't know how many left over here guys, probably only the pirate over here. Let me see yes, the pirate benchmark, another benchmark based on the unity, and I have to rearrange the phones once again, click to start. Okay, let me show you what's due over here, I'm going to put it to ultra. It acts a little of textures over here, and you can monitor the fps in real time guys over here we're getting 32. Something like that 34 over here, not a huge difference in this particular benchmark.

To be honest with you, so the conclusion from the benchmark is that if the game itself is not very demanding, you are getting pretty much the same results, but if you are planning to, you know play something more demanding, like you know, Call of Duty, for example, which I'm going to test right now, uh. Well, you need the 845 version, but again it depends. How is d5g in your area in London? I don't have a reception in my kitchen, so I don't need the 5g to be honest with you but anyways. Let's start the benchmark itself, guys I'm going to start with. You know, opening up some applications and by the way I have to flip those phones around now, or shall I does it like that? Okay, I'm gonna! Do it on this side, one two: three, Google Chrome a little quicker on the 845 over here, guys ready, 23.

Again a little quicker on the 8 45. I'm currently surprised YouTube. Let's see what do we get guys a little quicker over here on the 765 twitter, each Nissan. Much the same to my book Instagram, you know the tree, okay Instagram, or he was a little quick, pretty much and now, let's start the games, actually guys, I'm going to start with Call of Duty over here to see what is going to happen. Um.

That's that's one of the games that I continue playing guys um after some time, and I'm surprised that you know they're doing a good optimization running on cheaper devices, but you definitely need some horsepower to continue uh. You know having uh to win basically on this game, because otherwise it's very difficult when your phone lacks how you're going to win and over here the 765g is doing a better job. Currently, loading the call of duty, just ever so slightly faster guys, which it doesn't say quite a lot, but they are pretty much neck and neck. Let's continue with the second game. I don't understand the appeal of this game.

They say it's number one in the world right now, getting impact or whatever. That is all. I know that it took me like an hour for all the files to download- and definitely that's not my type of game that I would personally play, but I guess for a benchmark. It makes sense to check it out guys 765 already loaded and uh. Well, I'm going to be in eventually.

Okay, let's see what do we have guys so, so far in some instances, the 845 open up the applications faster, although day-to-day usage is ever so slightly, feels like the animations are a little longer. For some reason, it just doesn't feel as snappy as this one over here. The other thing is that both of those screens are just 60 hertz, so lg yeah they're a little behind the curve in that regard. Unfortunately, oh, I forgot the top press to begin okay, yeah um right, so I have uh I'm already in this um game guys. But it's like I don't understand this game is like you walk around.

You do some magic this and that, but it's its it's its a little cartoonish, but I guess I'm old school. I don't watch manga, hentai or whatever it is cold guys. I reached a five-minute limit once again, so I'm going to see you in a sec, okay. Finally, this phone loaded just a second later guys so yeah. You can't really tell the performance difference if you just uh, go along like that, but anyways.

Let me exit this application on both phones, guys and let me continue with just another game. The angry birds over here now both of those phones have 6 gigs of ram, which is the bare minimum guys long term. I don't really feel that, because we've got a bunch of phones with running android 405 and all of them are pretty much crippled because of two gigs of ram, and you know always the argument about ram who needs 12 gigabytes of ram. Well, if you're planning to use your device long term, you need the ram, because that's what lets it down guys. The software is fine by itself.

So again the 765 loaded, the game faster. I really don't understand. What's going on over here guys, I expected the opposite. To be honest with you, I expected the 845 to open up games faster and this one to open up apps faster, but is the other way around very, very weird indeed, and now, let's check the actual multitasking guys, I'm going to go back to Instagram, which is still in the room Twitter had to reload on the 765 over here YouTube again. He had to reload over here guys, I'm really not liking, that Reddit he's still in the ram.

This is good. Chrome had to reload on the seven six five guys and the games. Let's see about the games, Call of Duty had to reload on the seven six fives. Oh my god, both devices with you know five six gigs of ram. I really don't understand what is going on over here guys.

Where is the optimization of this, this phone? Where? Where? Where? Where? Oh, my god, I can't really wait anymore. Let's proceed to the next game. Let's see, what's going on attention, getting impact again had to reload on the seven six five guys. That's aha man, that's absolutely crazy! I mean I'm starting not to be able to speak properly. Artifact Simon and the last one is angry birds.

I don't know why they have different icons but anyways they're, both the same version and both kept in the ram guys. So what is my recommendation to you day-to-day usage guys? This phone feels ever so slightly uh slower because of the longer animations, but it turns out that opening up applications. It's actually quicker. This one opens up games faster, but actually the gaming performance is worse. So, if you are planning to, you know play this Call of Duty, nation or whatever uh heavy-duty games over here.

You're, definitely better off with this one over here, guys in terms of battery uh, well, they're, more or less the same, so you're not going to go wrong. So the question the real question over here is whether you care about 5g and are you able to pay more for the 5g? In my particular case, I told you that I'm using those phones for about I did this the 5g one for about a week this one for about a month now, uh, I not, even once I saw 5g in my area, I just don't have 5g guys. So personally, I don't care about a 5g and to my personal preference I mean the ram management is over here way better. I really didn't expect that, to be honest with you and considering the GPU performance is still better. It turns out that going for the three-year old 845 version over here actually makes more sense.

That going for the mid-range 7, 6 5, guys so yeah, that's pretty much it. Hopefully you learned something from that. Video um hit the like button share the hell out of this video guys. Thank you very much for subscribing, and I'm going to see you in the next one and don't forget to check my other lg velvet coverage on my channel. Thanks again.
