LG K61 Unboxing and first impressions

Hi everyone: this is Rakesh today, Whitney Owen, and today we are taking a look at the lg k61. This is a lower mid-range smartphone that was announced. Oh, we're so Midway normal I guess they were smartphone that was announced like in February. MMM is in the second corner in the Americas, but apparently not the United States, because I couldn't find it on Angie's website there, but it is available in Europe as of very recently so right off the bat just looking at the box. There's no G mall go on this, but if this telling you that it includes a jelly case twice so interesting priorities, there is announcing also on the top by the way, but still I find it interesting that there's no there's only one now. Do you wonder it's not that easy to find I mean it's not that prominent, but they need to tell you that there's an included piece twice? So those are interesting priorities, so we're just going to go I haven't opened this and of course we are the phone right away.

The box itself is a little different from usual I kind of appreciate things being done differently, so you're gonna just open that up see what else is in here manuals or whatever there's the case that they advertise so strongly and then there's, of course, the power brick which is really tiny in really around I. Think it's going to give. So that's a 10 watt charger. So it's not gonna, be fast charging by any means, but it is charging, and it is at least USB type-c. If I can yeah I can kinda see there, we go so there's that and there are some features listed here too.

So, there's four cameras: a sixpence 53-inch from HD display. There is the rebellion certification standards and the Google system button. So this costs two hundred seventy-nine year-old ninety-nine cents that is competing directly with TCM denim, which I also revealed recently and in terms of specs. There's a MediaTek hello p35 in here four gigabytes of RAM and a hundred twenty height thing about the storage. Compare that to the T CELTA now, and it's a mixed bag.

So the Hello P 35 is not as fast according to benchmarks, it's not as fast as the snapdragon 665. That's on the TCM and there's also mass ram here. So four gigabytes compared to six on the TCM, and it's at that point weirdly enough phones with four gigabytes of ram idea. At that point they sometimes struggle to mike get all a lot of apps and memory, so switching apps may not always be as fast as you don't like it ?, but 128 gigabytes of storage. That's an advantage over the TCM and I feel like that's, maybe a bigger deal.

My 64 gigabytes is a point. An hour. I feel like you can fill that up relatively easily and retain a gigabyte of storage is more than enough for me personally, so I'm comfortable with that. So going around the phone, it's a bit of a fingerprint night. Let's just take out these stickers.

If I can there you go that's one and that's Wow that wasn't supposed to happen. Okay and that's ?, so the design here I think is one of them. T's advantages over the TCM I. Don't know why I like how round it feels it's really I, don't know it's just it's writer to me and so the back as this sort of lines going underneath it, I guess the way it reflects the light you can know it's like there are some lines under the plastic. It's fascinating, I kind of I kind of like how that works.

When it's reflecting light, I'm I, don't think there are any other comments for this. So this is the only option and thanks I, like it, I like it more than a DC antenna, I think in terms of the camera setup here, four cameras like this young and setup is actually very similar, so there's a forty-eight megapixel main camera, and they'd megapixel ultra-wide and then there's a 5 megapixel depth sensor for those portrait pictures and a 2-megapixel macro camera. Let me just try to make is a point on bit. There was a lot of less than that, and I've said before I'm, not a huge fan of macro cameras and depth cameras, just being here like when you give that, like a telephoto, for example, I much prefer that versatility of zooming in into things from like a wide angle, all the way to a telephoto, but whatever this is what it shows, and I've seen it so many times not that I didn't really care that much like I said the design on the back I. Think it's really cute! There's a fingerprint sensor on the back of course, and going around the phone itself a SIM card slot their power button.

This is on the right side. On top there's just a microphone on the left side, the volume rocker and the assistant button that we were talking about earlier and on the bottom. USB type-c, a bottom firing speaker, another microphone and the 3.5 millimeter headphone jack. So then we're on that said. There's display here.

The guess 6.53-inch from HD Plus display, obviously LCD, not MOA, and it's actually almost identical in specs wise compared to the TCL. Damn same size, same resolution, they're both LCD's and they both have a punch on cut out for the camera so very, very similar, and this is a 16 megapixel camera again. I think that's the same as the DC internal. So a ton of similarities right off the bat, so you're going to set this up. Okay, so once it's set up which it finally is that'll go on.

This is what it looks like. This is LG's you made some of these notifications. Don't go away apparently, and that's really cool with that. So this is what LG's UIM look like looks like, and it's my first experience is now G phone. Actually, so I don't I'm not too knowing right along with the way.

This looks right off. The bat I can tell there's no swiping up, there's no drawer, so it seems like they're placing everything on the main screen which I don't love but I. Suppose there are worse things and also I. Don't know why I can't swipe oi these notifications, I, really don't care about, can I do that? Okay, so the domain, the design language itself- I, don't like it there's this very minimalistic, like sort of wireframe. Looking icons and I think this is running Android by which is really unfortunately.

So let me just confirm that I believe this is android pi. So that's considering the phone on. Why didn't launch in 2020 I find it a little weird that yeah it's Andrew 9 there you go that it? They didn't ship this with Android 10. So that's unfortunate, but yeah. It's running Android PI! There's the Google feed there is like they were using more Google stuff here then some other manufacturers do, and they go home assistant, but does work.

So there you go I, hope, that's programmable! I, don't know, there's so many okays. So the includes games. I, don't know II like that. There 's doesn't really seem to be anything to indicate that there's that there you can configure that button, which is really unfortunate and I, don't see anything in the settings either. I'm just having an additional button.

Just figured an assistant for me doesn't seem very useful because I could just press it on here or say: hey Google and all those things should activate the system, so I just don't feel the need for dedicating buttons and master programmable I like having it set to like turn on the flashlight or something I can't do that here. Apparently so. That's a shame. Oh, yeah I'm looking at the settings seems very minimalistic. I feel like there is usually more options here.

I, don't know this feels like a very small list of things, but maybe I'm just imagining that, so yeah software looks fine. Some choices here that I've involved, but it's whatever, so you know just the finest there and I mean that's really all I know about LG software I, don't know anything. Okay! Well! So there's a bunch of gesture things that you can use to switch between cameras. That's interesting, I mean it looks. Fine.

The UM is fine. The cameras on the camera I'm not right off the bat and I didn't love with them, but it's fine I guess so. That's the camera app! There's a bunch of settings here, of course, very different UI than what I've seen before, so yeah there's also the sound Jake quick memo app, which I assume is just like a note, app sure yeah just create memos I, don't I, don't really see the need for all of this I don't know if it oh, it doesn't seem to make keep notes. So that's good, because that would just be another. The plug adapter that I need.

That seems to be a positive here. There's not a lot of the pockets between Google, Apps and mg. Stuff, though there is a music player here and spa media to music as well here, but I'm. Finally, that I guess it's just one yeah in terms of software. That I can really say much because I'm not remember with the mg I do really like the design here of the back and in general, and I'm kind of excited just to use it I, don't know it is.

It looks I think I like how it looks, even though the performance is probably not that way and the display, despite being LCD, looks kind of nice, maybe just a well-chosen wallpaper here, but I do make the common reproduction here. On that background, so yeah I will be reviewing this in the coming weeks. But for now that's all I hope you guys, like the video, and I'm saying guys in the next.
