LG G8X ThinQ Dual Screen: Final Review [BEST OPTION]

What's, going on guys a stand-up back again with another video, and today we're gonna, be talking about the LG G 8 X, thin Q, dual screen. That's a mouthful because this is a mouthful of a phone. We've got the LG G 8 X here, which LG has come out with a standalone, just LG G 8x. Thank you before, and then we have this guy right here, which is what makes this special. So let's talk about specs, first, okay, so this is going to be a six point, four inch device. This has wireless charging.

This has quick charging 4.0. This is going to have dual cameras set up, as you guys can see there. It's going to have a 12 megapixel main camera, a 13 megapixel ultra-wide camera. This is going to have six gigabytes of RAM, snapdragon, 855 processors and then four thousand William hour battery pack. That's what this phone is all about right here.

No, this isn't unlocked version. I, believe you can buy this straight up a TTT or an unlocked version. This is the unlocked version. I've been using this with T-Mobile. Let's put this aside a real quick, and this is the actual dual screen.

As you see it, there LG dual screen LG. So when you open it up, you've got identical. Six point, four-inch dual screen here and then the part where your phone goes. You've got a cutout back here for the camera. You've got a magnet closure down here.

Nothing up top I'll talk about this in a second at the bottom. You have how you charge your phone there's a little magnetic adapter. That goes here, and then you have to be grilled I'm in headphone jack, okay, cut out over here on the side for the volume rocker and there you have it so back to the phone I've had this phone for about two and a half months now. I hope you guys see that there that's one thing: I'm gonna talk about in a second and overall I've enjoyed this phone. I haven't loved it, but I've enjoyed it.

A couple of things off the bat that I have like its battery life is fantastic. On this phone, four thousand William hours gets the job done, doesn't charge as quick as I. Would like to 4.0 should be fashionable for some reason. It doesn't feel like it charges that fast front-facing, 32, megapixel, camera 32 megapixels, is if it's its crazy, crazy, crazy, crazy! You do get a front facing speaker here. You get one single bottom facing here.

Of course, headphone jack and USB see you got power bun on the right volume, rocker ohms on the left, and then this bad boy right here is your go-to for like the Google Assistant, okay. So it is what it is. I, don't really like these hotkey buttons, but that's what LG has given us. Really nice screen six point: four-inch screen God. It is OLED.

Okay. Now it does come with Corning Gorilla, Glass 6, and it also has always on display. I'm you've got a lot of pixels. You get 403 pixels per inch density there, which is fantastic, really, no complaints on the screen, good job. There you've got the little teardrop cutout over here for the camera.

We've seen that a lot lately, some minimal bezel there a little more bezel here at the bottom, but overall, very nice look and feel phone. The back of the phone, though my favorite part, is this: there's no bump! There's no raise you look at that compared to my iPhone. This stands out. This raises this is flush love that LG did that so good job LG. There makes that much nicer, cleaner in my opinion, so love the battery life definitely all day lasts.

You know, that's not a concern when you're, using without the case what the case is another issue. If you put the case in you're, definitely I could get as much battery as you'd like it's draining. You know because it's powering the case and the phone itself, so that's an issue. Build quality. Is nice overall what else? Oh I, like rear cameras? Very nice I'd put this at a top 5 camera phone.

To be quite honest with you, it's not better than Google it's not better than not-it's, not better than the iPhone, but I. Think it's better than the OnePlus of the world. I think it's better than a bunch of other mid-range I really enjoy that I. Don't like the LG interface and skin I hadn't used an LG phone in quite a while I'm, not really enjoying the LG I feel like it lags feel like the animations are a little too long gives off the impression that this phone is really not as snappy and quick as it could be, and should be then I think that has all to do with LG's skin, even the scroll up, animation. I do like this.

You see how it kind of blends in with your background, I like that, a lot, but you're not getting this phone just for this, if you're getting the LG G 8x dual screen you're getting it for the dual screen. So let's talk about this real, quick, okay, this right here, a fingerprint magnet as you guys, can see super reflective. You can literally look at yourself like this- is a mirror. Look at the fingerprints on this just from handling it in this video there's, a very small cutout up here. It's hard to tell I'll, show you in a second, so I'll give you a quick notification: access! Okay, when you open it in you've, got six point.

Four-inch identical screen to the main phone. It even includes two teardrops up here: I, don't know why, but it does place the phone inside super easy. All you're going to do slide this in it literally latches in through the USB there push in click, click, and you're in business, and once you do that, you guys see this right here. This is a little quick toggle that opens up at access and use the other screen. If you press it, you can do turn on dual screen and what happens the dual screen turns on, and now you've suddenly got a situation here that really makes this phone intriguing in my unboxing I called this the dual screen or, for you know those who don't want to spend as much money or those that just can't justify spending $1,900 because I'm, not one of those people.

You know I'm not spending $1,900 on a Samsung Galaxy fold. That's just outrageous, but this is the dual screen for the masses. I, don't like this. You know it takes a while to get used to it, but you got this big gap in the middle, which makes using the phone a little cumbersome when it comes time to consume media. But with that being said, you also have a very strong hinge, as you guys could see that hitch isn't going anywhere.

You can literally have this open, like this play. Video games like they've done mode before like this, in which you're watching YouTube up top, you know browsing the web down here. Composing emails: this is a 360 hinge, so you can bring it back. Boom satisfyingly clicks in now. Here's a problem when it's like this, this one's off, like this one's, not turning on the dual screen, does not turn around the main screen of the phone.

Is this? What is that I hate that I wish that it could use both I? Don't know why that is, but I wish that if this one was on, I could quickly flip over to this side. Another thing about this dual screen to keep in mind super strong hinge, like I, said so, there's cool when you close it. This way, so the magnet is in here but nothing's up here you see that gap. This concerns me because over time is this going to quickly push away and stay loose? What happens if this magnet down here gives up then you're just gonna. Have this thing constantly flapped open, that's my fear so far so good, but I, don't know why they couldn't pull one up here.

It is what it is. When you turn on the phone. There's the quick notification display, you can't engage with it. You can't do anything with it, but at least it's there I wish. All of this was a screen that would make this amazing.

Why? Because my number one issue with this setup here, is that, if you're going to use it with the dual screen- okay, if you're going to use it in this kind of configuration, you have to consistently unfold the phone to engage with it to answer text to web browse to do things and that's where the galaxy fold shines the galaxy fold when it's closed has a very small but usable screen. You can actually see your apps use of apps Instagram. Make phone calls quick text replies you can take a picture of just as is you, don't have to open the phone in order to actually utilize consume media and engage with see glad you guys are catching that on camera, because that's the big issue right there, the fingerprint scanner I'll talk to that in a second too, but you have to open it in order to actually use it and actually to consume media, and then you can find you can have fun with it. You can open up YouTube over here. You can keep this one over here, as is obviously have no connection right now, I'm on airplane mode, but you to here you know web browser, see and that's cool.

That's actually really nice, because this year in the middle doesn't matter now, if you make it so that you can rotate it there's the issue, you can do it like this and like this cool whatever now you can come back here, and then you have a couple options you can do swap screens literally swaps over, or you could take three fingers and just shift it, which is probably my favorite thing about. This combination is doing this. That's really cool, because you can quickly and intuitively decide what you don't want on one screen of what you want another screen. Okay, so that's cool show main on tool. You can do that pretty self-explanatory.

You can do put main screen to sleep or show dual screen on main um I forgot what it is that allows me to so, if you're, okay, with this being here, and you're, okay, with mostly using like this, then this is fun. This is intuitive. This is comfortable. If you are not okay with that, then what you can do is this: if you're, okay, with dealing with this, then you're okay with a lot of things, and that's all that matters there- okay, this floats around, so you can have it over here. You can quickly go back to it and swap screens like that again, or you can three-finger, which is how I like to use it the best and then, when you don't want to use this anymore, which is cool.

You do this and pull out your phone, and now you have a phone, it's back to being compact ready to go. So that's really cool! You can't do that with you know, Motorola's new razor. You can't do that with the galaxy fold. Furthermore, you have to accept it as this LG's give you that as an option as an add-on case. It has its limitations, but it also has its good uses.

I think that if you're going to use this the dual screen as an everyday thing, then you have to remember and realize that it's going to be bulkier. It's going to be cumbersome. Your battery's going to get drained faster, you're gonna. Have to engage open and close a lot more often, okay, we're doing that. Then this one is for you because for six hundred dollars you can find it used or new for $6.99. It's really, really hard to beat the fact that you can get I found this capable it's a perfect camera, really great battery life, decent.

Looking phone with that as an accessory, it's really really really hard to beat that a couple of things though a couple shortcomings. It doesn't have a face up lock. The fingerprint scanner is nowhere near as Apple IDs was before, or Samsung or Huawei's it's down. Here. You really got to make sure you put your phone finger in the right place and you kind of have to push down, see how it says.

Try again, you can't just leave it there. It's going to keep failing you have to push into the screen. When you push into the screen, then it tends to work, so I'd say that's about a 70 to 80 percent, reliable, fingerprint scanner there um there. You have you guys when the one that, when the case is on battery drains a lot faster battery, takes a lot faster, a lot longer to charge, but overall I've enjoyed it I've enjoyed this setup. A lot I'd recommend it.

If you're into the whole dual screen thing, this could be a mobile powerhouse. You know this setup right here. Put this in your backpack carry this phone. If you go someone, you need to type some documents. You know multitask.

Instead of bringing your iPad of your surface or a laptop, this could do the trick. Anyways. Let me know in the comment section below what you guys think about this set up. Is this a funny one? Is this a funny again? What would make you not want it? What would make you want it, and how do you think it compares to the likes of a Motorola, RAZOR or Samsung Galaxy fold or any other foldable phones that are coming out or are out right now? They, let me know in the comment section below don't forget to subscribe, don't forget to hit that like button, and I'll catch you guys in the next video there's a no peace salute.
