LG G8 VS LG V60 In 2020! (Cameras, Speed & Gaming)

What is up guys today, we'll be discussing the lg v60 versus the g8, for all of my people that are considering getting the uh v60 coming from the g8 or, if you're, just interested in both of these phones in general. So let's go ahead and get started with the price so brand new. It will cost you around 400 bucks for the g8. But if you get this in the renewed slash a used market, you can find this for much cheaper they're going for around 280. I will put the links down below and uh. The v60 right now will cost you around five to six hundred dollars brand new, depending on where you get it, and also, if you want the dual screen case with this phone will be an extra 100 as well.

Alright, so taking a look at the hardware um, as you can see, they're both glass and metal phones here, if I go ahead and put them side by side, as you can see, the b60 is a little thicker and definitely much heavier in just a way taller device. So it is a big difference. If you're coming from the g8, you will notice the size and weight difference immediately. Uh you have pretty much the same sort of feel to it. They both have a know, boxy feel that feels really nice in the hand um.

I really love the designs on both of here, but you do have that uh. You know no raise on the camera uh, which is something I really love on the g8. As you can see, you got that little bump on the b60, which is not an issue I just like how clean it looks and, as you can see, there's no physical fingerprint scanner on the v60 because they got rid of it. It is an in display fingerprint sensor now and uh. Just going around the phone, you have the same uh setup power, button volume, rocker, Google Assistant button down below you, have your USB type c headphone jack, and you have stereo speakers on the v60.

You only have one single speaker on the g8 here. It doesn't show you right off the bat that fingerprint sensor you can see on the g8, it's pretty fast, very reliable. I will say that the in display one is definitely a hair slower. It's not super slow, but it's a hair slower than this physical one. Now both of these phones are ip68 dust and water resistant, which is great, so you can get them wet, and they won't break um.

So let's talk about the display, so you have a poled display a 6.1 inch display 1440p on the g8 564 for the PPI beautiful display, very vibrant uh, with the colors overall, just no complaints, you do have a sort of like the bigger notch cut out, which it does house the dual screen camera, which is something that I like and on the v6 you're. Getting a huge screen upgrade a 6.8 inch display. It is a 1080p plus display 395 for the PPI, and you have the water drop notch right here, so uh when you're looking at both displays, you really cannot tell the difference uh between the display quality. Here, like I've been saying since I got the phone, I was really shocked at that, because I thought you know you would really be able to tell unless you get really, really super close. So both displays are just perfect for viewing content, especially on the g8.

If you're gonna watch in 1440p now, where you will notice a little slight difference in detail, is definitely uh. If you're watching like a nature documentary or something like that, something with a ton of detail, you will notice it but uh just off the bat. It is. You know very minimal that you will notice a huge difference between these two displays here. So just excellent displays on both of these guys.

I do really love the water drop notch on here. I think it just gives off a more immersive experience, which is definitely really nice. Let's go ahead and talk about specs a little more. You have the snapdragon 865 on the v60 uh. You also have the arena 650 on here as well.

Furthermore, you have micro, SD support, 128 gigs of internal storage in eight gigs of ram on the g8. Furthermore, you have the snapdragon 855 uh arena 640 on top of android 10 micro, SD support, 128, gigs of storage and six gigs of ram one here. So when you're navigating through the OS- and you know just speed uh, the v60 is a slightly snappier, but it's nothing that I would pay the extra money for because it's not really you're not really going to notice it. So if we do, it's like a little mini speed test go ahead and clear all these applications out start with YouTube. You can see v60 stuff here faster, let's go ahead and try subway surfer again stay here faster, it's nothing too crazy.

Here, Instagram boom, both superfast scrolling gestures, are really fast on both of these bones as well. Let's go ahead and pull up. Tell me the NBA standings boom, as you can see just superfast on both phones here, so you're not going to notice a huge. You know, speed improvement. So what else do we have on here? Let's try calculator, you can see.

Just you know it's very minimal. You won't really notice all right. So just answering some questions about gaming, so um, you know again the same theme here: uh you're not going to notice a huge difference between these two devices when it comes to gaming. Obviously I think the v60 is just one of the best gaming devices of this year because when you pair it up with the dual screen case, with this big display sort of turned into like a Nintendo DS, uh kind of thing, so I just really like that, but, as you can see, if I hit graphics, uh you're, just not gonna notice or let's see if there is any difference, so we're on max yeah max so very high max, so again, no no real difference when it comes to performance, besides uh you're getting a bigger display. Uh.

These speakers on the v60 are much louder uh. So that is one thing to note uh as well here, but gaming super smooth, but let's go ahead and check out these speakers. Actually so I can show you all right, so we got these speakers at max volume going to start with the g8, so the g8 speakers are loud, and they have some pretty good depth, especially with the bass they have a nice kick to it, but the v60 speakers are louder. Uh them are crisp, they have zero distortion and the g8 does have a little of distortion and uh yeah. They just sound better way.

Punchier with the bass. Mid's are really present as well. Just a big difference, some of the best speakers that lg has put on any device. I think they even sound a little better than the g7, actually alright guys. So, as you can see, I know somebody's going to ask about the benchmarks in these benchmarks.

You can see a much higher score on the v60 on the single core and on the multi-core, but as we saw again with the real world performance, it's not going to be a huge uh difference here. Let's talk about some additional features. You do have Bluetooth 5.1 on the v60. You have Bluetooth 5.0 on the g8. Furthermore, you also have uh NFC on both of these phones uh as well uh, the v60 does not have face ID and the g8 does, and it has perfect face ID uh.

So that is kind of strange that they left that out now for the cameras you have a 12 megapixel standard on the g8 16 megapixel ultra-wide you get 4k, 60 or 30 fps. The front facing camera is 8 megapixels, 1080p uh video for that one on the v60. It's a 64 megapixel standard, 13, megapixel r2y and 8.3 uh TLF 3d, sensor uh. You do have 8k video as well as 10 megapixels, selfie, camera 4k video. So basically what I upgrade for the cameras um, you know to get the v60 for the cameras.

If you're coming from the g8 no um the front-facing camera is definitely better. The mics are better on the v60 uh, but that's pretty much it, and you get sharper and much better video that AK video is crazy, but overall, just for the pictures that I think most normal people are going to be taking you're not going to see a huge difference. I'll start with the g8, as you can see, uh you can see the photos still look great super color, accurate, very vibrant, colors, very punchy. You also have pretty good dynamic range as well as detail to photos. A depth of field is pretty good.

Everything about these cameras are perfect, so I usually just you know, don't have any problems uh with the g8 camera quality. You really don't even have to put g cam on here. If you do want to, you can do that, but no issues with the g8. Now, as you can see on the v60 um, you will get slightly more detail because you have that 64 megapixel lens. So if you put it on a computer side by side, you will be able to see a slight difference, but I don't think it's enough and the ultrawide definitely is really great on the v60.

Colors are really sharp again. Dynamic range is great depth of field. I do think the v60s front facing camera is a little better than the g8, but, as you can see, definitely a great camera on both uh, but definitely, if you're not into like the front facing camera or if you're not interested in shooting AK video, I wouldn't necessarily upgrade to the v60 for that um. So, let's talk about battery life uh, so you do have a 3500 William battery on the g8, and you have a massive 5000 William battery on the v60. Both of these phones have wireless charging as well.

You have faster fast charging on the GA 21 watts and on the v60 uh. You can get around 10 hours of battery life a screen on time again that is dependent on whether you're on 5g or not, and whether you have the dual screen case on the g8 usually gives me around 8 hours and 30 minutes of screen on time. I did a drain test if you want to check that out on all overall, it really comes down to the size of the device. So, as you can see, let me if you just see you can fit the g8 inside the v60s display just to show you how massive it is. Look at that and there's still kind of like room left right there.

So, if you're not into wanting a bigger phone, then I would probably wait to upgrade um. Also, if you just want the latest and greatest chipset, you want your phone to be slightly faster. I don't think that's a real reason to upgrade um but yeah. It really has to do with these size uh. The dual screen case is going to turn this into a completely different phone uh hardcore multitasking.

So if you're, not a power user, I wouldn't upgrade yet. I would wait to the next version, the b70 or something like that. So what do you guys think? Let me know- and I will catch you guys in the next.
