Let's try this again...Canon G7X Mark II Unboxing and iPhone 11 Comparison in 2021

Hey you all, it's ebony, welcome or welcome back hope. You all are doing okay today, so you all. I have another exciting video today I feel, like all my videos- exciting, okay, well, not all of them, but the majority of them are exciting, but you all you all ready I'm over here so nervous. I got another camera you all. Furthermore, I don't know what's up with me lately, I'm I feel like I've, become an impulsive person as of late, and I don't know why, like I, I feel like I'm always pretty much super like analytical super critical and just as of late. Furthermore, I've really been like.

Let's do it, let's do it, let's do it. I then bought me a camera. If you all had watched one of my previous videos you all know, I tried buying a camera, a starter camera um a few weeks ago now, and I ended up returning it because it just wasn't compatible with me. I felt like um. It wasn't really a great investment um, given the camera that I currently used to film and record, which is the iPhone 11, is not new.

It's not the pro. Furthermore, it's not any of that. Furthermore, it's just the iPhone 11 um. I feel, like my iPhone outperformed, the camera that I was you know using at that time. Well, you know that I had bought at that time, which was the Sony DSC hx99.

The Sony camera is a point-and-shoot compact camera. It was a few years old. I think it came out in 2018, but I figured that it was still you know. I think I expected that it would still outperform my camera, but it didn't and um. Furthermore, I knew within that same day that I did not want to keep that camera.

Furthermore, I have to bundle with it. You would have seen this all in that video um. It ended up costing me around 5 30. I believe 5 33, this camera, that I ordered, which I'll show you all in a second. It costs a little like I'm talking just a little under 600.

It was 5.95 and um. I ended up ordering the camera. I ordered a case and I ordered a memory card and the memory card and case shipped together but separate from the camera, so the camera came today. Furthermore, I ordered it on Tuesday, which was July 13th. It came to me today the camera which is July 15th the memory card, and the case is supposed to come tomorrow, which is friday, July 16th now you all.

I know I ordered the memory card, but I honestly did not want to wait, so I went to Best Buy um a little while ago, and I ended up getting another memory card because I wanted to try the camera out today. So I got another memory card and in my mind, if I end up liking the camera and keeping it I'll just have two memory cards, there's nothing wrong with that, and then I also got a little tripod um. This is like one of the bendy tripods, so the legs bend and whatnot, it's a tabletop tripod and the max height for this is 10.5 inches, but yeah you all. I think that's enough of me talking as per usual you all know I could ramble and go on and on and on I'm about to open this box and get into the details of my order and the details of this camera. I'm so excited you all.

Okay, let me get us situated: okay, you all I'm going to crack this box open as per usual you all, know how these shipping companies do they're gonna, put all your information on the box and, I will say you all know my last video. I had some grievances with FedEx this time around FedEx really did the job because they got my stuff to me on time. The delivery date that was promised is when they got it to me. Let me open this real, quick, you all, okay, so this is how the box came now the difference this time with the camera that I ordered versus last time. Last time I ordered a bundle.

It consisted of a new camera, the memory card and the case. If you notice this time, I mentioned that I ordered everything separately. That is because I ordered a used camera this time, you all, because the camera that I ordered is this bad boy right here. This is the canon power shot g7x mark ii. I got it used um the quality on the site.

It was marked as a nine, so I'll just tell you all what the site said about it. Let me see if it says anything on here now: okay, so I'll just tell you all what the site says about a not it was a nine plus. Let me get my iPad. I ordered mine from um a site called BH photo video for nine plus, again pre-owned equipment. That shows little to no signs of wear.

So that's what I'm expecting when I open this box um. Let's just hope that that's what I got okay here is the box and let me bring it close like we did in the last one um this box. I can already feel the camera moving around inside. I don't like that. It doesn't feel secure because that makes me nervous, but this is what the box looked like.

It has all the stickers on it and whatnot to show you. That is that it is a used product and yeah. So in the box you have the manual. This is way thicker than the Sony manual. I don't know if that's a good, a bad thing, so that's in there.

It has, oh so I'll. Take it out last. So here is the charger um, it's one that you plug into the wall like that this it definitely looks used. I will say that it's making me not as excited I'm, not even gonna lie to you all, and I'm wondering where the cord is. Does it come with the cord or not so here are the contents? Let's just make sure I'm not you know missing nothing.

So we got the camera the wrist, strap battery charger and battery pack. So literally, that's everything. The battery should probably already be in the camera at this case, at this rate, so let's check that it's actually in there. So let me get back so you all can tell I'm not as excited this time around, because it's not brand new, but hopefully it's still performed the same and that it gives me a nice quality camera. So here's the camera.

So here is the screen. It looks fine, let me flip it up make sure things are moving as normal. This has also. This also has a flip screen, which I'm happy about um. Here's that I want to make sure everything works.

So there is a little HDMI and charger port USB port. I guess I should say, so there is that right there um, but it does not come with any cords which is interesting. Let me just make sure again: you all because, oh yeah, it says on here. Interface. Cable is not included all right, you all, I'm just trying to make sure then on the bottom.

You have the battery and there's the battery, and let me there 's: it is so here's the battery and let's turn it on. I'm still excited, but I don't know is its a way different experience, opening a used, um camera than it is a new camera, definitely not to say, I'm not grateful. It's just a way different experience. Let's crack open this um. What is this memory card? You all I'd be forgetting stuff, I'm like what is this thing called and let's see how this thing works, I'm still excited because I never owned like a real camera, my dad used to have one, but that was about it.

I tried making a YouTube video like when I was a kid and stuff like that: you all. That is an entirely different story. Here is the memory card, it's a 32 gigabyte, so I put the memory card in now. Let's turn the camera on I'm nervous you all for real and there's the camera. I'm sad! I couldn't do a setup this time, because obviously it is not brand spanking new, but we will still enjoy it and still do our little comparison.

So let me just run down to you all what I can see from the camera right now. So here we have the functions similar to the last camera. If you click this, let's see what happened. So it takes us to the different controls that says turn that okay, that went very fast, okay, you all I'm trying to learn turned. Oh you, oh this little thing twist.

Oh, that is so cool. Okay. This is a bunch of stuff you all that I am not familiar with yet so, let's just go back to that at the top. We have some different functions, so we got some numbers right here. You all, I'm not sure what these numbers mean.

Let's see, let's change it that brightness, oh you all, see that look ooh, I'm going to set it at zero, and then we also got some different functions up here. I want to turn it to auto. How do I change it? So you twist that- and I have it set now at auto- auto- determine scenes, chooses optimum settings perfect. For me, here is the little camera button. I can feel the camera.

I can feel it when it's focusing is that normal here is the zoom. Let's try that out real quick. I can hear the camera doing all this work up in there you all that's interesting and then let's see menu, so we have okay, some stuff, and this is also touch screen and digital zoom yeah, there's a bunch of settings up here and yeah. I'm going to have to learn this you all. Furthermore, I'm really I'm like shocked.

Looking at this right now, let's bring the thing. Let's pop the there's, the little thing for the flash show you all what the front looks like. Let's close that and let's open it and show you all that, isn't this so cool you all, freaking cool, I can already see some dust in the lens, so I'm not excited about that um. Let me close it back. Okay and we're going to push menu again yep that took us back to the main screen and you all.

I think it's now time for the comparison that you all been waiting on. I know again that I did not give you all an in-depth review of anything right there, but that is because I don't know- I just watch videos and I learn from them. But what we're about to do now is done a little comparison. It is a little dark now which may be good because, as we saw from the last video, the Sony did not perform too well in low light, and I live in Washington. We don't get too much sun throughout the year, so I think it would be good for me to have a camera that performed well in low light.

So you all. Let's take some pictures and let's do this side by side video comparison as well. I will see you all in the next clip now, okay, so I am recording now on the front camera on my iPhone and then the canon g7x mark ii um, the light conditions are the same in both. I just want us to see and compare what we are seeing with these two cameras. Furthermore, I'm a little nervous, I will admit, I'm just a little nervous and kind of excited.

Furthermore, I want to see what this ends up. Looking like um, we are facing opposite of the light right now, so let's see how these cameras perform um, and then we're turning towards the light. I'm feeling like the canon is giving me a little more it's its. I don't want to say it's washing me out, but it's definitely picking up on light a lot more. It's definitely looking a little more white than my phone is giving me um, I will say, is doing a great job with the background.

I definitely stand out in the background on the canon versus my phone, the phone, the background kind is, you know with me. The background in my in the canon is blurring out for me. So, let's walk over here, so yeah there's hardly any light, I'm in like the dining room area, there's in hardly any light going on over here. That's what that's looking like. I might not be able to go outside this time, like I did in the last one but um.

This is what the inside is giving right now. My arms are getting tired, tired you all. So I'm about to end this now, okay, so I'm bringing us into some artificial light. I got some clothes hanging up there you all from laundry. So this is artificial light from my bathroom.

I'm really. I ain't going to lie I'm liking the way the canon is looking so far, just in the little viewfinder itself, it's going to be difficult to remember, to not look there and to actually look at the lens um, but yeah I'm liking it you all. It's looking from what I can see is looking clear, looking crisp um, the iPhone kind of puts, like a don't know if it's like a softer filter, softer touch onto the video, but it's definitely a difference from what I can see. Maybe I will take you all out to my car. Maybe just sit in the car and, like I don't know just so, we can see what it looks like outside all right, so we are in my car.

Let's see if I can set the canon down and put my phone right here, so we're in my car, and it's definitely a difference. I will say the canon is definitely darker um. My iPhone is a little brighter. The canon is yeah, it's definitely having trouble staying light there. It goes I'm looking over there now and my iPhone has been pretty much this color the whole entire time.

Whoa, canon you're really exposing me for all my flaws right now, you all sheesh, damn I don't know if I could get used to that uh you might have to back up bro, but I honestly, I'm not going to lie I'm enjoying the canon right now. I'm going to have to look at the footage on the computer to see, but right now it looks good to me. Let me take some pictures in my car and maybe like at the ground or something like that yeah. I might have to get comfortable being out in public, taking pictures and videos cause, I'm not very comfortable but yeah you all. Look at my skin.

It's horrible! Don't look too hard. It's okay! It's okay! We all go through well, not all of us! Some of us don't go through this all right. Let me go ahead and take some pics, hey you all, so I am back, and I almost don't want to say it, but I think I like the camera. I know I'm a little critical. I will admit that about myself, so I do be trying to find reasons like every you know, type of flaw about certain things, but I really think I like the camera you all.

Furthermore, I looked at some footage on my um laptop well actually on my iPad. So first I will say you all transferring the files from that camera. To my MacBook too many steps. First, like um, you all saw at the beginning of this video. The camera doesn't come with an USB cord.

Luckily I have these types of USB cords lying around from other devices that I own. So I have one right, so I thought it would just be as simple as me: plugging it into the camera, plugging it into my laptop. I have a MacBook Pro right, so I have to use an adapter for the actual USB. I have an adapter for the USB okay. Furthermore, I thought it would be as simple as me putting the adapter on plugging it in, like I do with any device that I own is not that simple.

Furthermore, I was already looking into other types of adapters. Furthermore, I only have one that specifically for the USB, so it's this small little thing, that's where you plug in the USB side of things, and then this is the: u, whatever it's called like USB or whatever it's called that actually goes into the MacBook. So this is what I have. This is what I use for the majority of the devices that I own, I'm going to have to get one of those actual adapters. I have seen them on Amazon.

I was looking today. It has a HDMI port SD card port. I think it has another USB port. It has a bunch of different little ports on. There is like 20 something bucks.

I'm going to have to give me one of those, because I feel like I'm gonna, actually wanna just put the SD card into that and upload it that way, rather than the way that I had to do it today, which was download the app to my iPad. The canon app connect, the uh, the camera to my iPad through the app and upload the videos and photos that way I felt like that took long, probably because it's over the Wi-Fi so next time, I'm gonna. Do it differently. So far, I'm really liking. The images that I see the sound that I hear from my iPad, I'm really liking it you all and, like I said, I kind of didn't want to like it, because this was expensive, purchase you all.

This cost me literally right under 600 bucks, but I was really looking forward to getting a camera. As you all know, yeah I'm going to be trying out the camera for a few more days, just to make sure that I really like it and that this is just not. You know me speaking because I'm tired- and you know I'm just uh- you know excited at the moment. I want to just really test it out and see if I actually like what I see, but so far so good you all, I might have a camera hey you all, so I realized that I didn't really give you all an update on the camera and how I feel today is um June 31st, and I've had the camera for a little over two weeks and um. I still have it so that should tell you something right.

There. Furthermore, I've enjoyed the camera, I've taken it on my trip with me, um I haven't played around with the settings like at all really um. Furthermore, I just use it on auto mode and so far so good. Furthermore, I think the camera like picture quality is great. Furthermore, I think the video quality is also great um.

Furthermore, I eventually I do plan to play around with the settings, and I know that you know auto is just like the basic, and I know that there are things that you can do in order to make the quality even more phenomenal and exceptional with this camera. But right now just me, you know wanting to um capture certain things and, like being you know, newly introduced to this camera. I think auto settings are just they're great for me. Right now I had the camera. In the case, the case I will say, was a little on the small side for the camera.

There's not much wiggle room in here and I will say it's not too much padding in the case. Um. Here's the camera. If you all want to see it again here she is the beauty like. I said I've taken her on my trip, and she's been good.

I will say the battery lasts for a decent amount of time, but um, I guess in the future. Furthermore, I may consider getting an additional battery for this. Just because you know, I think it will be useful um. What else do I want to mention this camera? I was watching um Instagram stories of another YouTuber that I really love, and I'm like very inspired by her channel and her content. Her name is Monroe, steel and um.

I was watching her on Instagram, and she also uses this camera to vlog and do her daily activities and funny enough yesterday she posted on her story that she has like three of these cameras because she buys them so frequently. She says that the um, what I want to call it the life of one of these cameras is not very long, so that kind of worries me a little, but I do think with the proper care and the proper equipment to protect the camera. You will get a long use out of it, because if she says she has to buy like a new one once a year- and I'm like- I can't do that. I want something to last me, so I'm hoping that this will so far again so good. The quality is amazing.

The focus is amazing. She said that the focus is something that goes away after a certain amount of time. So again that does worry me, but I'm hoping and praying that this is going to last me but again, you all if you all are interested in investing in a camera. I think that this is a great one to do so, especially starting out um again, the automatic settings straight out of the box were amazing. One of the things I did mention in the previous clip was that um transferring the footage to my laptop.

I have a MacBook Pro um, it's a 2017 version, so it only has those two little ports on the side. I didn't get the know the one with the touch bar, so I just have the basic one: the 2017 version with the two little ports and um. As you know, there's no additional um like uh ports or features on that laptop. So I did invest in an um a little. What is it adapter for the uh cameras SD card, so that I can use it opposed to doing like the whole transfer process where you have to upload the files through Wi-Fi and things like that? I think that this will be of way more use and value than doing it.

That way, because that way it just took a little too long for my liking. So let me show you all that real quick, so here is the little um adapter. I ordered this from Amazon. This is an USB type-c hub. That's what the name of it is, and I think this is a six in one.

Let's see yeah, so this is a six in one, so you have a HDMI um input. You have two USB type, a port, that's what it says: um a SD card slot, a micro, SD card slot, and then it says up to 100 watts, watt pd slot. I don't know what a pd slot is um, but I'll show you all what the adapter looks like. So this is what it looks like straight out of the box I was like is this used? This is what it looks like straight out of the box. It comes with the user manual um.

I like the one that I ordered there's an actual wire for it. I did see somewhere the actual um little attachment is on the adapter itself, and I didn't want one like that, because I don't know I feel like the wire- is a little more convenient. So here's my laptop you just plug it in on the side, and then you should be able to upload your files. Um well put your SD card into the slot and upload the files that way, so I'm hoping that this is a good investment and something that's going to be of great use to me, because I really did not like doing it through the Wi-Fi way. I think that's good for like pictures um, if you want to get pictures onto your device quickly like say I have an iPhone right so say I want to upload pictures.

You know through Instagram. I would do it for that purpose, but to put things on like large files, video files onto my laptop it took way too long. So I'm happy to invest in that, and I hope that is going to do me good, but yeah you all, that is it for this video. I hope that this helped in some way, one way or another and again, if you're interested in getting the camera um, definitely take your time. Look around find the camera that works for you.

I did get a comment on my last video about the Sony, camera and their settings that you can do to make it. You know make the quality better me. Personally, I don't have the patience, so I wanted something like I said that works straight out of the box on auto and still produces a great image. I hope that you enjoyed this video. Please do not forget to subscribe and to like this video and to leave me a comment.

You all, let's get to talking, I want to hear you all's thoughts on the camera and the quality that you all seen um. And how do you like this video, so yeah until next time, you all peace.
