Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Pro - Unboxing & First Look

It is finally time for one of the finer moments of 2021, at least here on this YouTube channel. It is time to unbox and take a first look at the Lenovo yoga slim 7 pro. Furthermore, it was released way back in 2020, but has been delayed and delayed and delayed, and I was finally able to get my hands on one. This is with the i5 model, so this is the intel, not the AMD version. The AMD version is still impossible to find in the Nordic region and there is no clue as to when it will actually be available. I'm wt vest I make in-depth gear reviews and tutorials, and if you like this kind of content after watching it, I would be super happy if you want to put a like on the video and if you want to communicate with me, you can find me either in the comment section or on Instagram, where I'm also at w2best.

I paid 1200 euros for this yoga, slim 7 pro, and this is by far the most expensive laptop I have bought to review here on this channel. So please be aware that, because I paid a relatively high price, I expect this laptop to be up to the standards of that price. For some reason, my package with my Lenovo yoga slim7 was delivered to the very other side of town, and it must have been some error with the postal codes or something, but I've been ill this past week, so I've been pretty much isolating the whole week and really not had any opportunity to go and get it now. I got a negative test result, and I've been feeling a bit better, so I decided to take the one and a half hour journey to go across town to pick up the package, and it arrived in one of these ridiculously big shipping boxes. Finally, after such a long time waiting for the Lenovo yoga- slim 7 pro- I have one in my hands.

So let's get back home and unbox this giant box. Here we have the next box. That is a little smaller. I had to get rid of that big shipping box because if I didn't get rid of it on my way home, I would have to move out of my apartment because it's very small. This is, in my opinion, a pretty boring box, and I mean Lenovo is not known for making very interesting boxes, but it's just got a Lenovo sticker in the top here.

It's got nothing pretty much on the back side, nothing on the side, nothing except this battery info in the front, and then it's got the specifications on the side here so here it says that it's an intel, i5 1135, g7, 16, gigabytes of ram 512, gigabyte storage, 14 inches, 2.8, k, IPS display 4 cell battery and Windows 10 home. Let's get out the unboxing scissors and get into this guy. Fortunately, there is a more interesting box in the box, so that is pretty good to see. Let's start off here on the side where I presume we will have the charger for the laptop power cable, and then we have the standard, Lenovo, 65 watt, USB c charger, a perfect charger that I prefer among many others of my USB chargers. Let's get the main box out of the box.

Oh, look at that. That's a premium package. I have to take back what I said about Lenovo, not making interesting boxes. This guy is great. It says yoga and Lenovo on the front.

We have some interesting Lenovo print going on in the back, except that there's not much happening in this box, but it's a great looking box and much more premium than what I've seen in my other Lenovo devices. Okay, let's do the vinyl opening here slow and steady. The lid comes off presenting us with a felt sleeve, so this is where we have the laptop underneath see. If we have anything else, oh yeah, here we have some safety and warranty info and probably a quick start guide as well. All right here is the first look of the Lenovo yoga slim 7 pro.

You can see that it picks up a little of my fingerprint sweaty hands right away and that's usually the case with this kind of lid. So it's not a huge problem, but let's have a look around it. On the left-hand side you can see, we've got two thunderbolt 3 ports and also one power indicator in the front same as with the Lenovo yoga, slim 7, it says yoga 7 series on the right hand, side we have the 3.5 millimeter headphone microphone, combo jack. We have an USB a port, and we have the power button and from all I can see, this is a power button. Without fingerprint reader not much happening on the back in the bottom.

We can see we have speaker grills, so we have bottom firing speakers here. That is an interesting difference to the regular yoga slim 7. We also got a very big ventilation grill here, let's open the laptop up and see if it can be open with one hand, not incredibly easy, but it is possible- and I think that hinge will start giving a bit more weight after some time, and it will be possible to open with one hand removing that little piece of fabric, and we get presented with the classic Lenovo keyboard and a touchpad that is significantly bigger than the yoga slim 7, which is of course, because this is a 16 by 10 aspect ratio display. So there is room to put a bit of a larger trackpad in there. I'm going to start the laptop up, there's not much power going on there, so, let's plug in an USB cable, and we give it another.

Try the first look of the Lenovo logo. Here I have to say, is really promising the color reproduction seems amazing, and this is my first glossy Lenovo screen in a long time so yeah. That is a different thing compared to the matte ones that I'm used to. You can see straight away here. The bottom vessel is actually a few centimeters much taller than I would have expected it to be.

I'm Cortana, and I'm here to help a little sign in here, a touch of Wi-Fi there, and we'll have your PC ready for all you plan to do use your voice or the keyboard along the way, and if you'd like me to stay quiet, just select the little microphone icon towards the bottom of your screen. So we could hear the first speaker test there with Cortana, and it's a little worse than the yoga slim 7 for sure the speakers that are placed here when I have them like now on a flat surface, they will give pretty good audio. But it's far from the audio coming from the front facing speakers of the yoga slim 7. It's time to set up the facial recognition- and I know from using my Lenovo yoga slim 7- that this feature works really well on the Lenovo laptops. So, as you can see, there's just a few seconds of waiting, and then it has set up the facial recognition.

So, while windows is setting up here, I have a few first impressions to talk about. First, the trackpad. It's clearly rattling when you just tap it like this up here, there's no rattling going on, but as soon as you get down here, and you do like a soft tap, you hear that rattling noise there it's interesting to be back onto a Lenovo keyboard. After such a long time with using the Huawei keyboard, I enjoy this keyboard. It's pretty much exactly the same as on my yoga, slim 7.

It's not a very long travel keyboard, but it's got a nice tactile feel to it and I like typing on it, I'm usually pretty fast to type on it as well. We come into windows for the first time, and this is interesting to see because it's so much nicer this screen compared to the yoga slim 7 screens. It is glossy. So, as you can see, there are quite a lot more reflections as there used to be in the matte version. You have that solid 2.8 k resolution and this is also a 90 hertz screen. So I'm really looking forward to trying some gaming out here and see if we can get those 90 hertz working.

One of the first thing I always want to do in Lenovo laptops is to check the quality of the screen and see if there is any backlight bleed in the screen. So let's turn the brightness up to max. Let's go to my backlight bleed test video right here in this well-lit environment. I can't see any backlight bleed going on. So that's a positive thing.

I'm going to take it into my bathroom to see how it is when it's completely dark here you can see the screen in a very dark environment, but with a regular background image when looking at the laptop on camera in a dark room like this, it looks like there are insane amounts of IPS glow, but I have to tell you that to my eye. I really can't see any of this IPS glow, but I see a little of backlight bleed up in the left-hand corner. It's really strange. Actually, you don't see it with your bare eye, but the camera is picking up a lot of this glow around the screen edges. It's clear to say that there is a bit of backlight bleed in the top part around this part here, but I would say that this is one of the best units I have tried when it comes to backlight bleed from Lenovo way better than my other yoga slim 7 units have been.

I started using the laptop with my MX master 2s and when I'm doing that I don't use the trackpad, so I don't get disturbed by this rattling noise. I started downloading some browsers that are not edge because big surprise I'm not using edge when I'm browsing, then I immediately of course find out that McAfee is installed as it is in most of Lenovo's laptops. Let's see, if there's anything else, 40 media, I'm not sure what that is. Okay, it's not too bad. It's like the office applications are there, and we have Skype, of course, which is always included.

Then we have McAfee and we have OneDrive. So it's actually pretty much only McAfee. That is a proper bloatware. In my opinion, I have to say the thing that strikes me the most after a few minutes of using this laptop is still why they didn't fill out the bottom chin. Here, however, I have to say the fact that the glass goes all the way down here and all the way up here and then just leaving a tiny little ledge is a really premium feel much more premium than the regular yoga slim 7.

After a few minutes of using the screen, I truly enjoy using it. It is such a nice experience to have the 16 by 10 with the high resolution. I don't exactly know what I feel about the 90hz, yet I think I have to put some more solid testing into it and see how I feel about it, but as soon as I got my wireless mouse out and stopped using the trackpad, my overall feel of using this laptop has been really nice and there you have it. This is my unboxing and first look at the Lenovo yoga slim 7 pro I'm looking forward to spending a few good weeks with it to make a proper, in-depth, full review, video of it when I have gathered all the data for doing so. If you have any other questions about Lenovo yoga, slim 7 pro or the Lenovo yoga, slim 7.

For that matter, you can ask them in the comment section below, and I will make sure to reply as quickly as possible. I'm w2best I make in-depth gear reviews and tutorials and I will see you in the next video have a nice day. Bye, bye,.
