The iPhone 10 is the most advanced camera from Apple versus the pixel to the best camera phone out there. So far, then, does the new iPhone managed to beat the pixel ?, let's find out hey guys, I'm, actually from V bomb calm and when the iPhone 10 is first arrived. I was really excited to check out its cameras with the smart HDR depth control new ISP bottom. That said, in the first few reviews, a lot of people were saying that the iPhone tennis cameras do not live up to the pixel ? from last year. However, there was no detailed camera comparison. Well now that we have the iPhone 10s here, I want to put it to the test, but before we get to that a huge shout out to our sponsors for this video wix.
com, which lets you create some stunning website and talk more about SIX at the end of the video so stay tuned. For that now, then, let's get started. First, let's get these specs out of the way the iPhone 10s comes with a 12 megapixel F 1 point 8, plus 12 megapixels, a 2.4 dual via camera, with smart HDR and dual o is the pixel.2 comes with a single 12, megapixel F, 1.8 Lee, a camera with OAS and E is, and that amazing HDR+ for dynamic range. Now, let's take a look at the photos, starting off with some shots in good lighting conditions. Take a look at this photo hit.
Both of these photos look good, although it's obvious that the iPhone has gone for a warmer color tone and the pixel for a cooler color tone. However, if you zoom in on the grass, the iPhone tennis has captured a lot more detail, the highlights and the shadows are better defined in the iPhone photo as well. The difference here is pretty damn obvious. Now take a look at this picture. Why both photos are pretty similar.
The iPhone has clearly captured more lightning and if you zoom into the building, the lines are much clearer. In the iPhone 10s photo I mean yeah. The pixel to photo is almost as good, but the iPhone tennis has done a better job is another pic this time. Both the phones are actually pretty close, but you can see in the shadows on the plants that the iPhone tennis is smart. HDR has captured more light, I'm really impressed with smart HDR.
It does an awesome job of handling shadows and highlights so far. The iPhone tennis seems better than the pixel to invalidate situations, but that's not always the case check out this picture. As you can see, the iPhone tennis photo has more saturated colors that remind me of Samsung photos, but when you zoom in you can see that the pixel too has better details. The lines are much clearer in this photo so yeah the pixel 2 does manage to be the iPhone sometimes, but in most pictures that I took I noticed that the iPhone Denis is clearly capturing a lot more light and has better detail in almost every picture when compared to the pics in -. It's really impressive, and I like it a lot so yeah in good lighting.
The iPhone tennis is clearly better than the pics in ? in terms of lighting HDR and detail. Now, let's check out some low-light shots, so take a look at this Into shot at first look both the photos, look pretty nice, there's plenty of color and everything looks good. However, zoom in, and you'll see the difference. Smart HDR has made him. The plans behind the glass are clearly visible in the iPhone Menace photo, but the pics in ? has blown them up.
Also, the clarity of the text on the boards is much better in the iPhone 10s photo. Difference is huge here. However, if you take a look at this picture, while they both look pretty similar other than the warmer and cooler leaning tones from both the phones on zooming, and we can see that the pixel ? has fared better than the iPhone in it. The lines are better defined and there's less noise as well. Here's another photo where the pixel 2 came out on top I mean let's just zoom in, and we can see that there is simply more detail in the pixel ? short as compared to the iPhone 10x.
The colors are more true to life as well. So that's definitely created sure. The iPhone 10 is like in this faith has captured a lot more life and the details are way better. But overall, as you can see in most photos, the pixel 2 is definitely handling low-light better than the iPhone 10 is, except when it comes to smart HDR, where the iPhone Menace seems to be performing better than the pixel 2. As you can probably tell it's a mixed bag in low-light, but I'd give the upper hand to the pixel ? I mean the pixel.2 is just more consistent than the iPhone 10s in low-light, and that's commendable, since the pixel 2 is a year old. Anyway, let's move on to some portrait mode shots from the icon, gaseous and the pixel 2, and see if Google's single camera can hold up to the dual shooter on the iPhone tennis check out this portrait mode shot of me, it's a pretty good photo and both the phones seem to have done a decent job with it in zooming in the photos are pretty close.
It definitely looks like the iPhone 10s has captured slightly more detail, and if you look at the back of my head, the iPhone tennis has also done a better job of edge detection than the pixel -. So that's great I might well make this pick. My profile photo, but I digress. Now, here's a portrait mode short of Rules whew. You guys seem to like for some strange reason anyway.
The difference here is much more pronounced. Let's just zoom in its clear that the iPhone tennis has more details than the pixel to buy a lot. Also, if you look towards the top of his head, you can see that the pixel 2 has messed up the blur, while the iPhone tennis has done a much better job of it. It's a pretty big and of this difference. Even in this picture, it's pretty obvious on zooming, in that the iPhone tennis has simply captured a lot more detail than the pics into in portrait mode, and if you look towards the left part of my head, the pixel 2 has blurred out my hair, while the iPhone tennis has not believed it or not.
I like my hair blurred and in focus anyway, it's pretty clear that the iPhone tennis takes better portrait photos, but it's not perfect. I mean look at this photo. There are times when the iPhone tennis messes up the colors in a photo and the pixel to absolutely nails them, but that's very rare and overall, in my use it so far. I just prefer the iPhone Dennis's portrait mode over the pixel ? and that's something I wasn't really expecting. Don't get me wrong.
The pixel 2 takes some amazing portrait shots. It's just that the iPhone tennis does them better, and that's obviously good. Now, let's check out the video quality and stabilization on the iPhone tennis and the pixel -. If you've seen a video on the ultimate, he is a no wires test. You would know that the pixel 2 is the best in terms of video stabilization, so does the iPhone 10s manage to beat it first here is a 4k video at 30fps, because the pixel 2 can't shoot 4k at 60fps anyway, while both the videos are pretty close.
When it comes to stabilization, the fixing to video does look slightly more stable. That said, the colors on the pixel 2 video look over saturated and that's not good. We also recorded a video in 1080p at 30fps to see how that looks. Ok, so the iPhone 10s is clearly capturing much better video than the pixel -. There's a lot more light objects of a better Unfocus and overall, the video is just better I mean that pixel ? video just looks really sad and muted.
It, however instability, the pixel ?, is still winning the iPhone. Tennis is close, but it's just not as smooth as the pixel 2. It's fascinating that the iPhone tennis has dual OAS can't be the pixel to Z is plus OAS setup. However, the iPhone tennis is not bad by any means, it's actually very close, and the video quality from the iPhone tennis is definitely a lot better than the pixel ?, so I'm going to give it the whip. Now, let's take a look at the front camera on the iPhone tennis and the pixel ?, so the iPhone tennis comes with a 7 megapixel ? depth camera on the front, while the pixel 2 has an 8 megapixel front facing camera.
Both of these phones support portrait selfies. So, let's start off with the port itself here now this is a difficult one to choose from, because viola clothes look clearly shows much more details in the iPhone 10 is photo. The edge detection here is definitely better on the pixel -. Just look at the patient's here, and you can tell the difference easily I guess it depends on whether you want more details or better edge detection. Personally I think edge.
Detection is more important in portrait mode. Now, take a look at this low-light selfie, while none of the phones are really any good at it. The pits in ? are definitely better than the iPhone Tennis, both in terms of details and color balance. That's actually a big issue with the iPhone 10 is front camera. It misses color balance.
Quite often I mean it will look pretty good as an individual picture, but if you have the pixel to photo as well, the colors are simply more natural there. You know some more selfies we have taken, and it's clear that the pixel 2 is definitely better when it comes to the front. Camera pictures from the pixel ? turn out better than the iPhone tennis. In most cases, plus the iPhone tennis does do some sort of smoothing from the front camera which I don't like it on I'm, not a professional photographer, but these photos definitely make it feel like the beauty. Gate is a real thing.
We even have an article on this exact problem, and you can check it out from the link in the description below. If you want to take a more detailed look at this problem, so does the iPhone tennis beat the pixel ? in terms of camera quality? Then yes, and no, the iPhone tennis has a great camera that outperforms the pixel ? in daylight and portrait. One pictures from the iPhone Tennis have better light, usually more detail and smart HDR definitely makes a huge difference. However, when it comes to low-light and the front camera quality, the iPhone 10 is still lagging behind the pixel ?, which is surprising since the pixel thing is a year old. The ? still nails, color balance on the front camera doesn't do any of the weird beauty gate stuff with the selfies, and it's more consistent in low-light than the iPhone tennis.
Anyway, if you want a definite of answer, I'd say the iPhone tennis is the winner, at least for me, because in daylight and portrait mode, the iPhone tennis is a lot better than the pixel ? and in low-light and the front camera it only falls short, sometimes and even then, usually not by much plus. Why were you shooting this video? The DXO mark scores for the iPhone 10s arrived, and it does win over the pixel ?, its cause 105 overall and 110 in photo, while the pixel ? scored, 98 overall and 99 in photo. That's it. It's amazing how good the pics in ? is even after a year, and now that the pics in 3 is about to come out, it should be a much better camera than the pixel ?, so I, don't think the iPhone tennis will be the best camera phone out there. The pixel has had and will have that thrown.
