iPhone XR vs iPhone 7 Plus SPEED Test - You Won't Believe This..

What's up guys, my name is Brandon, and today we're going to be running a speed test between the brand-new 2018 iPhone 10 R and 2016 iPhone 7, plus we're gonna, be doing app. Launching tests boot up tests, web browsing tests and more in this video. So like always, let's go ahead and lay down the specs of each device just so we know what we're dealing with here. So, of course we have the brand new iPhone 10 R here, which has Apple's new, a 12 Bionic chip and three gigabytes of RAM. Meanwhile, over here on the Left, we have the 2016 iPhone 7 plus, which has Apple's a10 fusion chip and also three gigabytes of RAM. So the chipset in the iPhone 10 R is two generations newer than it is in the iPhone 7 plus here.

So, let's see how big of a difference that makes when it comes to a speed test and both of these devices are running the latest version of iOS 12.1, so we're going to go ahead and shut both of them down and do a quick boot up test. First ISO, the iPhone 10, are just got its first loss in the boot up test to the iPhone 8 plus in my previous video, which, if you haven't watched that check it out in the cars right now, let's go and see if the iPhone 7 plus can beat the iPhone 10 are on a boot up test and three two ones. So we tapped it there on the iPhone.10 are we're holding here on the seven plus, and we got a visual first on the seven plus, let's see if we can go to the lock screen first on the seven plus as well. That will be very surprising if we can still the same on both and the seven plus beat the ten are on the boot up test by about a second, a second and a half so very interesting that the iPhone 8 plus and the iPhone 7 plus beat the iPhone 10 are but the iPhone 10s or the note 9 did not beat the iPhone 10 are on the boot up test. Alright.

So now that we're on the lock screen, let's see which one can get to the camera. First, on the lock screen: let's see which one actually focuses first and three, two one and the 10 are definitely one there. We're still waiting on the focus ring here on the iPhone, 7 plus, so I guess we're not going to get it there. That was really hard to tell so, let's go and do that one more time and there we go, so it looks like the seven plus actually got the square at that time. So, let's just do it one more time, since this is up pretty hard to tell which one is winning here.

So let's go and the 10 are there as well. So it's looking like the iPhone 7 plus is just having trouble focusing I know it's a black screen, but you can usually focus. Let's just do it one last time and the seven plus again focused first that time so very interesting, I'm not going to give the win to either one right there, because it was really hard to tell and Apple actually really improve the speed of getting to the camera from the lock screen on older devices like the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 6. So maybe that has something to do with it here, but anyways. Let's move on now to some app launching tests and of course, as always, we are going to start off with gaming, so we're going to make sure that all applications are closed on both devices.

So I'm going to go ahead and close out of all the applications here on the 10r, and these seven plus already has all applications closed. So I start off with Galaxy on Fire three and three two one press it the exact same time, and we have any visual first, of course, on the iPhone Center, but not by much at all. It's about neck and neck here, like not even the second difference between the two right now, and we did get to that loading screen a little quicker there on the 10r and wow. This is extremely close. Look at this.

The iPhone 7 plus, is pretty much performing the exact same as the 10r here. The 10r was behind a little in the beginning, but now it's exactly the same as the 10 are. The seven plus I should say was a little behind, and now it's the same, so very interesting result there on the very first game you open now, let's do asphalt, 9 pressed at the same time once again, and they look like the 7 plus actually got to that black screen. First, let's see which one can actually get to the actual end game screen first, so it's still even right now, look like the 7 plus did have a little advantage of a note. The 10r takes it there at the end.

Now, let's do fortnight and three two ones. This will be a very interesting result here as well, because the 10r has just been killing every phone and fortnight. So it's continuing that dominant domination. Here against the seven plus. You can see we're still on this screen here on the 7 plus, it's just taking a big lead here and fortnight.

The 10r is so there we go all the way through that blue screen on the 10r, we're still there on the iPhone, 7 plus so yeah the iPhone sin are definitely one here with fortnight. It continues to just rain terror. On every other phone, it's just dominated every other phone, especially in fortnight. Now, let's do pub G and three two ones. This would be a very interesting one as well and the seven plus we have a visual on at first.

So, let's see if it can continue that No, the iPhone 10 are quickly put those claims to rest. We're going to check for an update on both and the ten are definitely loading up before the iPhone 7 plus here by you can see like five seconds, probably about five seconds a little under five seconds there. So big lead there for the iPhone.10 are, and now we're going to go into splice and do a video exporting test. So we're going to go ahead and select the exact same video there for both. So it's a 4k video that I shot on the iPhone 10s Mac, so we're going to go ahead to export, save, and we're going to click 1080p at the exact same time in three two one- and it looks pretty much even right now looks like the iPhone 7 plus may actually be in the lead so yeah.

It looks like the iPhone 7 plus is going to beat the iPhone 10 are here, and the export does know. The iPhone 10 are at the very last second just bolted ahead and beat the iPhone 7 plus, but very, very close and barely beat a two-year-old device here. So now, let's move on to these social media applications, we're going to start off with Twitter exact same time there. Let's see which one gets to the timeline. First, the iPhone 7 plus got to the timeline and loaded things up before the iPhone 10 are: let's go ahead into Instagram and three two one, and it's looking like the seven plus again, and it loaded the first picture before the iPhone 10 are so the iPhone 7, plus it's just a beast competing with the iPhone 10 are like this very interesting.

It wasn't. Even this close on the iPhone, eight plus. Now, let's go into YouTube and YouTube looks like it's gonna load up. First, yes, loaded up first on the iPhone 10 are let's go into Amazon and the iPhone 10 are once again now we're going to go into the Vi vino wide application and three two one and this one's going to go to the iPhone 7 plus again, by like at least a second, maybe two seconds there at beat the 10r so fascinating. How much of a beast the iPhone 7 plus, is still and 2018 going into 2019.

Let's go and open up shortcuts and three two one shortcuts, and once again the iPhone 7 plus beat the iPhone 10 are here now, let's go into the camera and see which one gets the Square focus ring. First, then, three, two one and we got the focus ring there on the iPhone 10, are by a long shot over the iPhone 7 plus here and actually one thing I want to check if we go back into Twitter here. If we go to a tweet and go to the share button right here, I want to see which one brings up the share sheet first. So, let's press this in three two one: three, two one and look like these seven plus actually loaded up they share sheet before the iPhone 10. Are there? Let's try that one more time? Yes, the iPhone, 7 plus loads up the share sheet before the iPhone 10 are super impressive.

That's one thing I always like to test on the older devices is the share sheet because it did use to lag a lot before iOS 12. It's awesome that Apple is still looking out for those older devices and still fixing things and improving the performance of older devices, and that was one of the key things that they improved with iOS 12, all right. So now, let's test the RAM on both of these. They do both have three gigabytes of RAM, so I'm not expecting to big of a difference here. But let's go back into all these games once again start with Galaxy on Fire 3, and we have a possible relaunch here on the iPhone 7 plus, but not on the iPhone 10 are, so it's looking like it's just frozen right here on the 7 plus.

So, yes, we do have a relaunch on the iPhone 7 plus there. The win here and RAM definitely goes to the iPhone 10 or at least for the first application. Now, let's go into asphalt 9 once again, and once again we have a relaunch here on the iPhone 7 plus and a full relaunch on the iPhone 7 plus looked like we had a little mini, relaunch there on the iPhone.10 are once again, they ten-hour wins there, let's go into fortnight, and it looks like we're not going to have a relaunch on either one which is great. Let's do pub G and no relaunch on either one there as well. Let's go back to our social media application, so Twitter know relaunch there, just go into Instagram, no relaunch there, either YouTube no relaunch for either their Amazon, nothing there, and we'll do fa vino as the very last one here and no relaunch for either there as well.

So yeah, not much of a difference there in the RAM, but the iPhone said are definitely done win there from the first two applications alone. So now, let's do a web browsing speed test here. We're going to go to calm and three two one and the 10r is going to load up first over the iPhone 7 plus now we're going to go to TechCrunch calm in three two one and the iPhone ten are once again beat the seven plus, and finally we're going to go to espn. com in three two one and the ten are once again, let's see fully loaded. Yes, the ten are once again over the iPhone 7 plus, so is easily win.

Therefore, the ten are when it comes to web browsing speeds and now, like I, always like to do. Let's run a quick speed test, we're running on these same five gigahertz Wi-Fi network, we're going to run it first here on the iPhone.10 are seen what kind of speeds were getting and then compare that to the iPhone.7 plus speeds all right. So we've got a 151 point, one in the download and a nine point: nine six on the upload. Now, let's run it here on the iPhone, 7 plus, and we get a 147 download and in eleven point three uploads here on the iPhone 7 plus, so the iPhone ten. Our wins and download, but the iPhone 7 plus, is going to take the upload speed win here and finally, we're going to finish things off with an to tube benchmark test.

Here, it's going to run through a bunch of different CPU and GPU tests. You can see the difference in scores right there we'll see if that remains we're also going to see which one finishes first, and by how much of a margin all right, so we're going to click on test again, at the same time, in three two one, all right, so we press it at the exact same time, and we'll be back once this does finish. So we are on the QR code test, which is the final test here for the iPhone ten are, so you can see we're wrapping up here at 98%, and we are just now getting to the QR code test here on the iPhone 7 plus. So definitely a big lead here for the ten are, as expected, I'm sure the score is going to reflect that as well. You can see there.

We finally got to the screen, and we got a score of 341 317, and we are just now finishing up here on the iPhone 7 plus, and we just finished up there. Good thirty seconds behind the iPhone 10 are with a score of 172 485, and if we go into the score, you can see how they break down for CPU, GPU, UX and a memory so yeah there. You have its guys. That is a speed test between the 2016 iPhone, 7 plus, which is a beast of a phone I, must say against the new 2018 iPhone 10 R. Let me know down in a comment below which device you think won this test, and even if you don't think that the iPhone 7 well in this test at least give it credit for really keeping up with a brand new iPhone 10 are with a tip.

That's two generations newer on the 10r, so it's just so impressive how great the iPhone, 7 plus still runs in 2018 and going into 2019, so yeah. If you guys enjoyed the video make sure to give it a thumbs up also make sure to subscribe. For a lot more speed tests also be doing more coverage on the iPhone, 7 plus and the future as well. So, thanks again for watching guys, and I'll see you soon.
