Hey there guys welcome to another video in today's video. I'm going to do a quick, unboxing and quick look at an iPhone 10r, and this one is from Amazon renewed. So this was bought um. This is for a friend here and uh. This is basically they were trying to look for a phone that was under 500 bucks and uh. This was 364 on Amazon and I think it kind of hit all the boxes now.

Of course, you can find other iPhones for probably under 500 bucks like an iPhone 10s tennis max, but I noticed kind of a lot of sketchiness on swap pa and eBay, so I kind of steered clear of that, but I said you know what let me try. Let me try Amazon renewed. It does have a 90-day warranty. They also have one that's a little more pricey, but it comes with a one-year warranty, but this one is the one with a 90-day warranty. So I figured we'll go ahead and try and see what we get here.

So this is the black 64 gig unlocked model some information on the iPhone 10r here, so it did come in a couple different colors. Let me see if I can get my camera to focus here. We had a couple different colors here, so we had product red, yellow white, coral, black and blue, came in 64 gigs and 128 gigs in a storage size. Here is our size of the phone right. There 6.1 inch liquid retina HD display it has a multi-touch display with IPS technology, a resolution of 1792 by 828 326 PPI 1401, contrast ratio. True tone display wide color display, p3 color gamut haptic touch 625 nits of max brightness, and we have the a12 chip uh.

Second generation neural engine, 12 megapixel camera on the back, and it had a what five megapixels on the front does: 4k at 24, 25, 30 and 60 frames per second uh. Let's see here, yeah, seven megapixels on the front. Sorry uh, 2.2, aperture, portrait mode, all that good stuff there face ID apple, pay, Apple Card, different carriers, here different models and the bands they support there. I won't go into all that. Crap, but it is a phone for 2018, so it is now almost three years old, but we're going to see what we get with the Amazon renewed model.

So let's go ahead and unbox it and see what we get here all right. So this is the package it came in, so we're just going to cut this open here and see what we get here, and hopefully it came with a charger and stuff because you never know with these okay, so we kind of get this nondescript box here. So what do we get in here? We get the packing slip, we get a lightning to USB charger and this looks like the actual real deal- Apple charger. So that's kind of cool uh. We definitely get an aftermarket one here, so this is an Ashley power, adapter uh aftermarket right there uh.

So of course, probably five watts, yeah, probably five watts, just like the other- and we do have our phone right here. So what I'm really curious about is I want to see the condition as well as the battery health on this. So if we take it out real quick here, we do get a little sim eject tool, which is nice that they included, and then we have our iPhone 10r in black right here. So let me go grab a towel, so we can clean this off and take a good look. So here's a look at it after I've cleaned it off here, so initially I saw.

I saw something at the top right here that looked like it might be damaged, but it was actually just goo or some sort of sticky substance. So I definitely think this was uh. You know maybe replaced, but the back of it looks pretty much perfect uh. Of course, there are smudges and everything the camera looks good here and everything on the sides, there's no there's no damage or anything like that. The bottom of it looks very clean, including the speakers and everything that looks very clean, uh.

You know, usually, after a while you'll see dirt and lint get into the lighting port and then the speaker grilles and everything, but there's nothing in there. The only thing that kind of concerned me here was on the front. You can kind of see this right here, this little white piece right here, and it definitely looks like the screen was replaced, and they just did a bad job with adhesive. This one, I don't think, is water resistant, but I would not trust this in water, and you can kind of see up here also the little white pieces here from the adhesive, so maybe they just didn't do a great job on it, unfortunately um. So I really wouldn't trust this with water resistance.

So if you're buying an Amazon, renewed or refurbished phone in the first place, uh be very wary with its water resistance, because if they've replaced parts it could not, it may not be as watertight as it was originally now. The display looks actually pretty good. Also. I did notice one scratch down here: um, it's not very big or anything, but it is, you know, kind of noticeable, but other than that. It's its in perfect condition, um.

So I'm pretty impressed you know, aside from the screen replacement, the aluminum is in good condition. I don't see any dings any scratches the lighting port and speaker grilles are in good shape, so really not too bad. The only thing like I said that concerns me is the adhesive around the screen uh. That does concern me. So let's go ahead and turn it on for the first time, and we'll go ahead and set it up to the home screen, and then we'll um go ahead and see what our battery uh health percentage is on all right.

So we're at the hello screen right here and, as you can see, we have like no battery left, so I may have to charge this a little yeah all right. So let me go ahead and set it up, and we'll be right back here. We are at the home screen. So the first thing I want to do is look at the version that we have included on here. Well, we can look at the wallpapers that are included.

So, of course, the iPhone 10r came with a bunch of different colorful wallpapers. That kind of coordinated with the different colors of the iPhone 10 are, so we have the black with the blue, the coral red, yellow white and all that stuff there, but we'll go ahead and check our uh version that we get out of the box here. So, of course, you can upgrade this to you know the current version, but we're on iOS, 14.0, 14.0.1 and then the storage we get here are 64 gigs. Of course, they have the 128 gig model, which is a little more money, but out of the box, you get 54 gigs free. Now, if we go down to our battery, we can see what our battery health is.

So on this one we have 87 battery health, which is okay, um. I wouldn't say it's great, I'm usually of the mind that if it's under 90, you probably want to replace it because uh you'll start to notice uh the battery will not last as long. It also kind of surprises me that they didn't replace the battery considering it definitely appears they replace the display um. You know, while you're in there you may as well replace the battery, but you know to each own. So as far as I can see, everything looks and works as it should Wi-Fi works.

I don't have a sim card to test in this to try it, but it seems like it is fine and again uh the know. The phone itself looks good. My only concern really is just the adhesive kind of sticking out and then the top. You know where you can kind of see it also um. That just worries me for water resistance, because I know some people if they buy an iPhone, they kind of want it to have water resistance.

So you can take it out. You know if you go on a boat or if you're anywhere near water, if it rains or something you don't want your phone to die or get destroyed by water, so that just kind of concerns me um. But aside from that, the phone is in perfect shape. Uh, we do have you know perfect speaker, grills, there's no dust or crazy nasty in there. It's its very, very clean.

So I definitely appreciate that, so I just wanted to give you guys a quick look at it and what you get so, of course you get the phone, you do get a charger, and you get the little brick there. So you get all that uh. So 364 is how much this was another thing I tell you is just to check the seller that you're buying from, so they have these with different sellers at different prices. I got one that had 90 plus um reviews, so uh just to you, know kind of give you an idea of what to look for so just be very wary and look at reviews and see what you're going to get. So when you look at the reviews on the Amazon, renewed iPhone you're going to see kind of mixed reviews because you can buy these from different sellers.

So, that's why I would say: pay attention to the seller that you're buying from rather than the Amazon reviews, because someone may buy something from one seller have a bad experience post it on the general page and then you kind of get turned off from it, because one person had a bad experience. That's going to turn you off from wanting to buy it, but it could be from a specific seller and that's a problem. I think, with Amazon, not really with the phone itself, so Amazon to really show the seller that the person bought it from. So you get an idea of which sellers to stay away from. So if you do decide to buy Amazon, renewed, look at the seller.

Don't really pay attention to those reviews, because that's going to kind of turn you off from it. Now, when I was looking for this phone, I did check swap pa and swap. Had you known about the same price, but the phones were in, you know, kind of worse shape, they weren't in a very good shape and um? They had similar battery life. You know in the 80 range 80 plus percent range, so I just thought you know why go that route when you can go Amazon renewed, get a warranty with it, so it has 90-day warranty. Of course, they have the one-year warranty available that one costs more um, but you can get a 64 or 128 gigs um in this, so yeah I'll leave a link down below if you guys want to check this out, but I just wanted to give you guys.

A look at the iPhone 10 are renewed, of course, again comes in your know, 64 128, gigs and then all the different colors and the prices will vary depending on the color, depending on the storage, depending on the seller.
