iPhone X vs Pixel 2 XL vs Note 8 | Camera Shootout

Oh, yeah I have all these pieces here. I'm going to try to figure out how to build a rig that will hold all three phones on the tripod, so we can get the same shots and do a proper test for you guys we're testing the cameras today between the node 8 pixels to XL and the brand new iPhone 10. This is like $3,000 for the cell phone sitting in front of me. I feel so rich. You do the arm on one of them and that can like hover and then one of the mounts will have to go. We just need this quarter 20 here, and then we can put this here.

Oh, I haven't got that port hello, I brought it from home. Oh excuse me, can I take some family. This is so funny. Looking but honestly, it'll give it like a good shot of the exam exact thing today. We're going to try to get a little more scientific, a little more granular.

Alright, let's go show this to our own product engineer and see. If we'll sell this rig online. Tell me you're not impressed I'm a video engineer a moment: okay cool! Well, let's go: do this the same than you're better than that well, I do have one more quarter. Twenty thread on this I could do you could do four? We could put like a blackberry on here and ready. I phone 10, pixel ?, no date, thanks.

Man Julie was welcomed with Julie's you're, putting a seatbelt on already yeah. Let's try safety is everything when you're dealing with some precious tech, and then you like put one of these little armrest down. Dude, that's locked in yeah, the first test, we're just gonna, go to the skate park, we'll get it out of the way you know. What's going to happen. Caleb.

Can kid flip? Oh, but first I said hello: can we get two Grande iced lattes I mean I love my local coffee shop, but sometimes they, let me down this spot. Is so cool I'm actually really stoked on this? So here we're going to test video capabilities on all these phones and see how they perform we'll just get a bunch of shots, and then we'll also do some photos down here. So, actually a decent dynamic range test, because we got some shadows down here and some skies. Okay. So right now we are just going over and making sure all the phones are in 4k 30, it's good enough that the iPhone 10 can shoot 4k, 24 and 4k 60.

So has a little of an upper hand when it comes to 4k shooting we're going to shoot 4k 30, just because you want to keep them on the same and see which phone performs better. It's also good to know that we locked exposure and focus alright. That was 4k just slide open, tripod shot for maximum resolution. Now we're going to test slo-mo see how the phones look with the slo-mo test. I usually try to kickflip this time.

We're gonna, get Nile's to kickflip I, think you can do it not a chance. Alright, we got so far. The cameras are looking perfect I've, even that a 1080 is better than 720, but is it a noticeable difference for the price point? Okay, we're doing a portrait mode test on the new date. It's called live, focus all right, all right, I, apologize for all that noise under the freeway and now heading off to shoot a photo of the skyline of Seattle, and we're going to test sharpness and detail of all the phones so on to the next location. It's like Gotham City, or what I'm filming hey man? Are you filming, hey, Mandy, Building, all right, so we're out here a little loud apologize sons, popping beautiful view of downtown Seattle, we're going to test sharpness and detail? It's gonna look great! Why is he going to look great because these phones are colors? Each phone is completely different.

Colors really come down to personal taste for DSLR's feel like can it feel like so deep Fuji same thing with phones, iPhone, pixel Samsung? They all have a different color profile, so they're always going to look a little different, all right, we're going to test portrait mode with the city in the background similar to those classic senior photos you get when you want that the skyline in the background you know senior year, you're 18, all right, so we're back in the office, and we're going to test dynamic range, see how bright this window is here in the shadows in the dark side, so we're seeing how each one handles that and picks up both shadows and highlights. Okay, we made it down to the basement of our office. We are going to test. What phone is the King? Okay? So right now we are gonna. Do for the first of our little light test.

It's going to be like kind of low light. It's like your party's your concerts, your campfire you're weirdly orange lip Thanksgiving dinner. This is perfect. All right, you're hanging out at your grandma's, because there's never enough light at your grandma's backyard. Barbecue see I'm going to have mouse over there fire up that grill in a second okay.

Now, looking pretty good, all the phones are awesome in this kind of lower light indoor environment. Now, let's go to the really dark stuff and see how it looks okay, so this is kind of, actually. This is actually if this actually does replicate a low-light test that night even outside a little, because you would have some type of ambient light. Typically, when you're shooting you're not just going to go shoot under a blanket before you think, we forgot, of course, we're gonna. Do portrait selfie mode right all right! We are back, and I am editing the footage of this review and I realized.

We did not shoot a conclusion, so I'm not going to tell you exactly which phone to buy I hope this review helps maybe sway your vote with the comparisons one way or the other, and maybe you saw something that you liked versus something that you didn't like, but here at moment we do support all of these devices cases and lenses for each of them, so hope you enjoyed the review and enjoy whatever phone you do decide to give thanks for watching.
