iPhone Photography Challenge | iPhone 8 Plus

What's up guys, I'm back with another video and in today's video, we're gonna, be working on iPhone photography and the reason behind that is because I want to show you guys that you don't need an expensive camera to take high quality pictures or video. So today, I'm going to be using my iPhone 8, plus it's the red edition and, of course, there's the XS Max and the XR that are currently where you have a bit more control over both. But that doesn't matter like I said whether you have an iPhone 7, an iPhone 8 I want to show you guys that you can use what you have in your pocket to be a photographer video videographer just start somewhere. At least it's a challenge for me, because I've never really taken pictures on my iPhone I've always had my camera around whether it was my Canon or my Sony. So this is definitely something new for me and I want to challenge myself as a photographer. So today, I'm strictly going to be using my iPhone, and I'm gonna, be with my girlfriend Alex.

So I can take pictures of her and also record while she's taking pictures. You know to get some b-roll and throw it in there, and so you know spice up the video buy some footage. This is gonna, be really fun. I'm really excited to try this out. Wanna start challenging myself to you know be as versatile as I, possibly can be so yeah.

Let's get started I'm just checking up nobody's in the car. I, don't know if I'm too in front, but we went to a coffee spot. I didn't really get footage in there. It was like a quick 3 minute, 2 minute, 5 minute thing she got hot chocolate. I'll show you guys at the end of the video how that picture came out, but so far it's one of my favorites I kind of wanted to use my camera, but I know if I start using it.

I'm going to get used to shooting with foot, and I'm, not going to want to use my iPhone so stick into the iPhone, no camera at all, I'm sorry, but anyways we're at the second spot. It's like this mural around 2nd Avenue I proposed right here. I'm going to take some pictures. The hair, the hair I have to get better because. Even for me I.

Maybe they came out okay, but me seen. The picture is not my best work, but we're done with this location. We're gonna, move on to a different location, and we're going to see what we can do there. So yeah I'll see you guys in the next one, so this is harder than I expected. Try to sell the Eiffel photographers, because for me, I'm having trouble, it's not I, don't know I feel like I, have less control using my phone, so it's the next day and all I can say for missing this shoot.

Is that I'm just mind blown and how good the pictures look. I ended up, taking 49 pictures and I, throw them into Lightroom. I chose 14, specifically that looked perfect to me, and I'm, not going to show you guys all 14 of them, maybe like top three top four, because I don't want to make this video too long. Furthermore, I want to keep this outro as short as possible. There was a stranger that stopped us yesterday and was like hey: can you take a picture of me, and I was like sure, and it was where her iPhone, you know, I'm, not a good iPhone photographer.

That's like a whole different ball game. I do want to get better at it, because I want to depend on my phone as well, because if my batteries ever dies for my camera, I have to use this little guy and if I don't know how to use this little guy then I'm in trouble. I gave her phone back, and I saw her face, and At that moment I knew. These pictures, don't look good, so I was like I'll redo them. She gave me back her phone, and I was like smile.

Do a different pose. Hopefully they turned out. Well, if not I'm, sorry, no, but one challenge I did come across was not having a viewfinder. You know, because you're only depending on your screen, you don't really have a little optic to look through ? I'm. Only going to show you top three top four of my pictures.

I threw them into Lightroom added my own presets I, adjusted the shadows to highlights the color tones I didn't do no skin, retouching or Photoshop I wanted to keep this as broad as possible, so I'm going to start screen recording. So you guys know what I'm talking about we're going to post it up here, which is why I moved a bit to the side, so there's room and I will be in the way. So the first picture I chose. Is this one, and I really love this picture, there's just minor things that are fixed and my things that I don't really like because of what I'm limited to. But one thing that you notice when you zoom in is the noise and the reason behind that is because inside the caf? it was kind of dark.

So, of course the iPhones going to have a bit of trouble in low-light. I tried my best to fix it in Lightroom, but I did not want to do too much to it. Another thing is the Equinox logo. I didn't want a Photoshop or do anything, but I would remove it out of the picture. Nothing against Equinox is just it causes too much of a distraction.

There's so much going on in the picture already that it's kind of taking away the focus from her and I want the focus to strictly be here this one's very good. You don't notice a lot of noise in the background, because you have a lot of light. That's helping you! You know, I, really love this picture. It's just very eye-catching to me. It just looks like she's about to kick me in the face, but it's crazy.

You know a very good picture for an iPhone, which is what I'm trying to show you guys that you don't need something expensive, and the next picture is this. One I really love this one. Why? Because it looks like it came out of my solar camera, and it's crazy, because once you zoom in you still see her face clear, you don't see a lot of the pixels break in you. Don't see a lot of annoyance. All I did was like I, said, fix, highlights exposure and a bit of the temperature of the photo, and it's amazing, probably my best.

My best photo on my iPhone that I've ever taken make sure you have good lighting around you, make sure you're shooting outside, because, if you're in the tunnel- and it's really dark, then I'm pretty sure your photos aren't gonna, look the best, a very good picture, I'm very proud of myself and then the next one, which is the last one. So of course you know you're not going to get this exact color. When you take a picture, you have to do a little of editing, and it just came out perfect I'm, just surprised. You know it looks like it came out of my camera, which is just mind-blowing to me. Oh yeah, like those are the three pictures or pictures I'm, pretty sure I showed you guys for pictures.

Well, yeah! That's the like. The main thing that surprised me is just you: can you your iPhone and that's one thing: I wanted to teach myself and I wanted to engrave that into my brain. If my battery ever dies, don't panic, you got a smartphone in your pocket, that's capable of giving you good results, and it's also to show you guys that you don't need a camera. You don't need to spend so much money. You already have a smartphone in your pocket that can give you big results, especially if you're on the budget start with your iPhone and grow, invest in your craft.

If it's something you love to do, grow flourish, invest in your craft, invest in photography, invest in videography. If you're a blogger, you know start off with your iPhone. You know you have a front camera. You have a background of record yourself, go ahead and from there, if you start seeing that it's something that you love is something that you'd like to do, go ahead and invest. That's the only time.

I would say it's time to pick up a camera. When you know you want to do it for sure, and you know you want to increase your quality go out, invest because it doesn't hurt to invest in your craft. There's definitely going to be a part. Two. So make sure you stay tuned for that, because I feel like I didn't do enough.

That's how you grow, but I'll see you guys next time, peace.
