iPhone 7 Plus vs Samsung Galaxy Note 7 DROP Test!

What's up guys everything Apple Pro here, and I've got the new iPhone, 7 plus, so I've run many tests on the iPhone 7. It's an incredibly durable phone, but now it's time for these 7 plus, so I wanted to start with a durability drop test and compare the results to the new note 7. So I never really did a drop test of this guy. So I thought why not, let's just throw one in as a point of reference with the iPhone 7 plus. Will this guy be as tough as the iPhone 7? And how will it compare to the note 7 now? This is the non recall version, so I'm a little worried for my safety I. Don't want to burn my house down, so we're gonna, try and be very, very careful with this test, but yeah.

Let's go ahead and see how the note 7 compares to the new iPhone, 7, plus, and I'm, actually really excited to perform this test, because the iPhone 7 did really, really well and I. Think the 7 plus will do just as good, and I've never tested. The note 7, the Gorilla Glass 5, is supposedly perfect when it comes to shadow resistance, so I'm very excited to test that out now. The only point of failure I see happening is that the camera sticks out much more on the back of the 7 plus, so I want to see what it would take to shattering by the way it is not covered with sapphire crystal just regular glass. So I just wanted to clarify that so yeah, let's go ahead and test these guys out.

First, things first is with a waist height test. Let me pull this bumper off real quick. This is the most important height that I will be testing this at because most of us don't use our phones up at head height or even 10 feet. I mean we just use it down here so pulling it out. It'll fall on the back, and this is glass.

This is Gorilla Glass fiber. Here it is tough, but it did break in the Galaxy S7 edge. Video we made, so I. Think it'll happen here too anyway, so pulling it out we're, starting with the Galaxy Note 7 on the rear and three two one and the iPhone 7 plus- and this is going to be a problem. I know it already three two one: alright, let's check these guys out so unharmed.

Gorilla Glass, 5, supposedly 80% of drops at a meter and a half are going to be protected. So there's that this thing did pop out shouldn't be a problem, though 7 plus no injuries. So you know typical fall right. There seems like they both handle it pretty. Well, let's move on to the side impact this guy's, going to pop out for sure on the side, all right same deal side on the Galaxy Note, 7 and 3 2 1 and the iPhone 7 plus 3 2 1, so the way that the iPhone 7 broke earlier was with the side impact.

So that's probably going to kill this one, but looks good not seeing any damage here. Actually there is a dent, so that is really, really tough material, but a little dent right there. This one's looking good, very similar damage the same area, so not bad, okay, so still usable. Let's do the face down Galaxy Note, 7 and by the way we actually have some water over here. Just in case.

Who knows what could happen with this thing and I know you shouldn't throw lithium in there, but I like to escalate things. Let's see some fire anyways three two one, and it looks actually good nothing. Nothing really wrong with it. Edge display is still working and iPhone 7 plus same deal. Oh, isn't good smack! So nothing all right, waist height both passed the tests with flying colors.

Let's move it up to a head height. So it's right around that time of year in November you're on the phone, and someone tells you that Donald Trump actually won the election, and you just got to drop your phone right there, so it happens, face down or rear down and 3 2 1, oh right on the crack. I feel like that's it. Oh, no huh. Okay, it's doing good, all right so same thing, but Hillary this time, anyways rear impact and out three two one volume: one off okay, I'm, starting to see some dents and scratches in the back over here no bench to speak of, looks good side.

This is the one that did the iPhone 7 in. So please, please, don't disappoint me! Galaxy Note, seven and three, two one Oh house, more of a side impact actually or rear, and it still survived, so I think I'm, going to redo that one and three two one there we go I was a good one. It looks good starting to see more damage on the bottom, like some dents over here. Otherwise, this Galaxy S Pen is taking a beating, still working cool to the iPhone. Alright same thing, side impact in three two one, oh I was very impactful.

The display is starting to jut out a little, so the metal bent inwards, and I can start to feel out with my fingernail coming out still working, though okay face down three two one: oh and the iPhone and three-two-one okay. This one is unharmed, see like a scratch going down it, but still working galaxy is as well hmm, so that is just about as high as you're going to get these phones in your day-to-day life. There's really no reason for you to be dropping them from higher areas unless you're in construction, whatever dropping them you're in high areas, but that's just about as far as it's going to go with your day-to-day life, so you know just to see how far they can go without breaking. Let's move it up to 10 feet and see if we get some sort of reaction there ten feet right here in three: two one Oh bad feeling about this one: oh wow I made a forceful smack, but still going strong. That is amazing.

Will the dual lens camera on the iPhone fare the same though? Or will it die same height right here in three two ones? Oh, that's it for the display Wow. So it hasn't cracked. We've actually seen this on the iPad Pro same thing like failure on the display, the digitizer is no longer working. Look at that looks like a tapestry and the glass on the back has survived, though not bad. There is more surface area to this phone, so when you drop it like that, yeah the display is likely to go bad.

That's crazy! So there's that the iPhone 7 plus couldn't handle a 10-foot drop onto its back. So if you guys got tired of Apple, never adding new wallpapers, this is actually a really cool wallpaper. I've, never seen something like this before. So all you guys got to do is go up to 10 feet and drop your iPhone 7 plus on its back, and you got a new skin for your phone. That is pretty nice I'm in lines, and it just blends really well with the iOS so check it out guys that is awesome.

Alright, so Galaxy Note 7 has succeeded, we're going to continue the tests with the working device, so this is 10 feet. Side-Impact Galaxy Note, 7 and 3 2 1 2, 1 Oh. Quite the spin seems like this is almost like a little bumper. It comes out and pushes it off the ground, oh and that's it. So it is cracked down.

There looks like it's not too bad, it's going up and around the display, but not too much in the way of your content. So that's what it took to break the display on the Galaxy Note 7. This time the glass did break, so these phones are done for at 10 feet, maybe because they have more mass, but the iPhone 7 did survive this test. So that's kind of crazy to see either way both phones did pretty dang good. So we got signs of life on the iPhone.

The display started, working very temporarily. I was able to move it around, and now it's not anymore, but it is tweaking out. Oh, there we are there, you go, so you can still somewhat control it, but is it usable now and look at that? There is the extent of that damage dang, but it's somewhat usable, so I'm very surprised. Even 3d touch is working or no, it's not so cool compared to the Galaxy Note 7. You guys tell me I would much rather be okay with this kind of damage on my phone rather than this, and we didn't even do the side impact on the iPhone 7 plus we don't even need to do that to break it.

Is the Galaxy Note 7s Gorilla Glass, five more durable than the iPhone 7, plus, possibly very possibly, but both still did pretty good above and beyond. What's required of them, alright, so guys there, it is the Galaxy Note 7 versus the iPhone 7 plus, and the display just settled down. It's actually working perfectly now very surprised, even 3d touch so there it is I'm I'm, quite amazed, both very capable phones, thanks, so much for watching guys be sure to check the other videos. This phone may not do amazing at drops, but when it comes to water, wow, just wow so have a great day guys make sure put a case on your phones, and I'll have a video about cases for you guys very soon. Peace.
