iPhone 2G vs iPhone 8 Plus Speed Test!

iPhone 2g vs. iPhone 8, plus that videos coming up right now, let's go so what is up guys Nick care, helping you to messier technology and welcome to the iPhone 2g versus the iPhone 8, plus, let's go ahead and boot these guys up at the same time, in three two and one and let's see which one gets there first, so we see an Apple logo, surprisingly, first there on the iPhone 2g, but that doesn't make it. You know boot up faster as we're going to see how much faster you boot up on an iPhone 8 plus here in 2017 ten years after the launch of the iPhone, the original. So this is a called the iPhone 2g now I know apples not killing in on innovation. We'll leave that up to other companies for now, but I was testing these phones before I. Did this video, and I was just astounded by how much you know they have improved with their screen resolutions with their.

You know the applications, the way the software works. It is like night and day and using an iPhone 2g here in 2017 I would say would be akin to like using a Motorola Razr phone. It's almost unusable when it comes to its smartphone functions and I would call this a feature phone here in 2017. The App Store can really download no applications here on the original iPhone YouTube application doesn't even work. The iPod is super slow.

This phone is like a feature phone here in 2017, alright guys, so I did line up the same applications on both devices. There's not much. We can test here because you can't download too much here, but what we do have we can test, which are mostly system app. So let's go take a look at calendar now, and you could see. Look how much faster the iPhone 8 plus is over the 2g.

Now, of course, this is pretty obvious, but you know I'm a little shocked to see that you know an iPhone from 2007 actually runs. Okay, it's not that bad, like versus an Android phone from 2007, and I'm, not trying to bash Android but Android when it first started. You know it was a little laggy. It got a little better, a lot better over time, and it's no longer the same case, but looking at an iPhone from 2007, it's quite shocking to see loo kit it's only like a millisecond or so for maybe a second or so different from system apps in 2017, and this might be another reason why people have been longtime. iPhone users have been saying every time they make a new iPhone.

It's not that big of an update. It's not that big of an update because of the performance, but where the performance on the 11 Bionic really shines is when you start doing video editing in applications such as iMovie, Lima fusion, as well as, if you're, not doing video editing if you're doing gaming. Furthermore, it really shines here as well camera. Furthermore, it has zero shutter lag as well on iPhone, 8, plus, let's go to settings, and you could see settings not bad there on the iPhone 2g. But if you look at the iPhone 2g, we are running the iOS version 3.1.3, as you can see right there on the iPhone 2g and that geomorphic design with a very limited setting, menu kind of simple. If you look at the new settings menu on iOS, it's very complex, it's got a lot more features and I think it could have confused some users.

So I, don't think iPhone is as simple as it once was. It's so simple, but it's not the most simple phone anymore. In my opinion, I mean it's pretty even with Android I think most people can figure out an Android phone if they can figure out a newer day. iPhone, let's go ahead and go into a weather, and you could see. Weather is first there on the iPhone, 8 plus, of course it's going to win every one, but we're trying to see you know how much better it really is app store, and you could see look at all that, like stuff in the screen from the camera.

That's because that has a really low resolution display there I think it's under HD, it's like a 320 by 480, something like that display, and you could see this app store right here on iOS 11 here has been really revamped and updated here. So you know everything is new, very simple, nice and laid out, and the first app store here on this version. Right here is just really slow to open stuff, but it was kind of laid out very similarly here on this iPhone 2g as it was on iOS 11. So you can see they're kind of going back to the roots there with a very simple and clean Settings menu down there, for whichever categories you want to go into. So what about? Let's go into clock now, and you could set an alarm and a time heard about the same time here in on a 2007 I.

Not much has changed besides steaming, so you can see the Apple stays with their roots. They don't like to change that much going into camera. You can see camera much faster on the iPhone, a plus and here's an area. I. Think a lot of people overlook is camera.

You know, cameras have taken leaps and bounds, I mean look how horrible that camera is here, ponder the iPhone 2g. Now some people are watching this video I know I'm gonna, get it I, get it and every time I do one of these old phone comparison, somebody's gonna, say: I still use that phone, and I'm waiting for that. One. Somebody's going to say that in the comments I guarantee it I'm still using that phone, it's going to be rare, but I'm sure we're going to get one person, let's go ahead and go into voice memos, and you could see voice memos. Look at that old design.

I mean it just looks like dinosaur right now, but some people are gonna, dig it more I. Think of some people are gonna even comment down below, like oh I, used to love that design way more than a new one, but I guess that's because you know that was the classic iPhone. Let's go into Apple Maps back in the time when this Apple Maps released, nobody was even giving him a shot. Apple Maps these days are actually quite useful. I, don't think it's still at the level of Google Maps as it was when it first launched.

Ok guys getting into iTunes the iTunes Store I tested it before this video. It will not even open on the 2g. It will crash here on the smartphone, and you're gonna, see it in just a second, it's gonna crash guaranteed, so there goes right there, so it crashes every time on iOS 3, I'm telling you this at this phone is almost unusable. Going into stocks. You can see.

Stocks is about the same, so stocks works well and going into the notes applications. We remember when it was just like a document pad here on the iPhone. Now Apple notes are very intricate, and it's very you know, synced up with the cloud it's much more advanced and I. Think people tend to forget about these kinds of things. You know they take people.

Take things a lot for granted on what has improved on the iPhone, and this is one area that I think you know you don't even think about it, but you know how much more powerful your Notes app is. These days over. You know the original iPhone launch, but we don't think about things like that. We just think about you, know Galaxy S8, and should the iPhone needs to go to an all screen design? You know it probably should which it is going to with the iPhone 10. But you know it's just in terms of design: that's not the only thing that matters in a phone.

Our phones are so powerful these days and, let's not forget how you know powerful. They really are okay, guys so getting into Safari I loaded up Apple comm here on the iPhone 2g and surprisingly, you could still actually browse the web. Okay here on this 2007 and smartphone, but you know of course, 2017 browsing. The web on an iPhone is like browsing the web on your Mac. It's that fast here, but it's you know you could still do some basic functionality here, ten years later, on your smartphone and the processor, improvements in these phones have been astronomical.

So if you buy an iPhone these days, it should work well into the future much better than like a 2007 iPhone did now. Let's talk about a couple of other things with the 2g. That really has you know come along way here over the years. So Apple you know, went to a glass design. They did this with the iPhone 4.

So that's not a big deal here. You know they just have a flat camera when they first started. They did that a lot in the beginning of the iPhone design, and now they have these humps on all of their phones. We need to get rid of those humps they're, just gross in my opinion, but that's just my opinion. You know you might think that camera up is clean to me.

It's definitely not clean over here on the right side. There's nothing! We now have power buttons on the right they used to be on the top. You know there was a big. You know talked about this all power button going to the right Android. Did it immediately.

You know on a lot of their phones, but once the iPhone switched his power button over to the right you know it was. It was a big deal in news. So over here we have. You know the 3.5 millimeter headset jack, a big one as a matter of fact, now that's gone. So definitely the future of iPhone has changed quite a bit here.

You know the Apple design, though overall over the years, hasn't really changed that much and that's what I think is really getting to people, but I think it's kind of a kin to a BMW I mean they don't really change your design that much, but they keep improving the internals the engine. You know stuff like that. It reminds me a lot of those German cars like the Audi's and stuff, like that. They don't really change his on all that much, but they keep improving the interiors they keep improving the inside and what matters to people, but I think this phone still looks pretty classy here even ten years later anyway, that was the two Jeep versus the iPhone 8, plus massive improvement. Massive improvements, iPhone has come a long way, we're still looking for some more innovation when it comes to design like other companies are doing right now, but we're going to have to see how many changes with the iPhone 10.

If you guys want to see the iPhone 2g versus the iPhone 10 when we get on the channel, let me know down below in the comment section of this video Nick here, helping you to master your technology hit the thumbs up. If you enjoyed this I will catch you all in the next one be sure to be well and peace.
