iPhone 12 Vs Samsung Galaxy A51! (Comparison) (Review)

So continuing on with these iPhone 12 type of comparisons, we're going to be talking about how the iPhone 12 pretty much holds up against the Samsung Galaxy a51. Now both these phones came out this year. Well, the a51 came out super late last year and is about a year older than at this point, but it's still a pretty good phone for the most part still has a lot of capability and I think for a lot of people out there, the Samsung Galaxy 51 is still being sold at a lot of local places. Best buys Walmart's convenience stores like still a pretty good phone, but the iPhone 12 is, you know, an Apple iPhone, it's so prestigious, and it's priced that you know it's a pretty expensive phone too. So how did both these phones compare? As of you know this point, you know it's coming to the late part of 2020, so we might as well get this one over with now. If you want to pick these phones up for the cheapest prices that I find on Amazon, I'll link them down in the description below you can get them from there and help support the channel at the same time.

Now, looking on the front surprisingly, this Samsung Galaxy a51, even though it's a year old and much older than the iPhone 12, still has a really good-looking display. It has a six and a half inch super AMOLED display it's 1080p, so full HD, and it's definitely not like the craziest looking panel in the world, and it doesn't have the craziest capability. It doesn't have. You know the 120 years. Refresh rate doesn't have anything like that, but the iPhone 12 also doesn't have those things either, and it's far more expensive than the galaxy a51.

So it's pretty impressive. What apple was able to do, but it's more impressive. What Samsung was able to do with a specific price tag? Now it's also a hole punch display. So no notch, no, nothing like that. There's a little of bezel on the top and bottom, but other than that.

It actually still looks like a very premium phone and when you look at this, and you look at the s20 there's not that many crazy differences, if I'm being completely honest and of course the galaxy s20s panels are far better, but when you look at them, and you look them side by side, they kind of look like the same from a distance, especially when you're using them. That's when you see the more differences, but you also have a fingerprint sensor in the display, as well with the iPhone 12. We have a smaller 6.1 inch panel, it's 1170 by 2532, so the PPI is higher. The resolution is higher, so you're definitely going to be. You know, in my opinion, getting a better looking display.

Overall, you also have true tone technology on it, which is really nice. Now you have that notch, but some people may think is a big deal, maybe not in my opinion, it's not a big deal when I'm using it. But when I look at these other devices, I do kind of get jealous, because I wish my iPhone had that type of capability. Unfortunately, it doesn't, so that's pretty much what I would say in this specific situation, but I will say both phones have their pros. They have their cons, but that's pretty much how they look like on the outside.

On the front now the galaxy 51 has an USB type-c port on the bottom. The iPhone 12 has a landing port on the bottom, but the 851 has a micro SD card slot, which is a humongous advantage for this phone I mean it looks like Samsung is removing that from their devices now, but that's something that's really awesome, and I really do like that from Samsung. The iPhones have never had that. So it's not really no point mentioning it. Now, on the back.

You have different types of you know back sound than them. You know we have a plastic back on the a51, whereas on the iPhone we have a glass back. So in terms of the premiums and the way the phone feels in the hand the galaxy 51 is just not going to feel as premium as something like the iPhone 12. So that isn't a there's, a very, very important thing to keep in mind: it's not the end of the world. It's not like it's going to hinder anybody's performance from this phone, but you are going to be feeling like a better feeling phone from the iPhone 12 for sure than the Samsung Galaxy a51.

So in terms of the outside that covers it up. But when we kind of look on the top of both these phones, you can see the camera. Setups and Samsung does very interest something very interesting here. They have pretty much. You know a quadruple camera setup on the a51.

You have a 48, megapixel, wide angle, lens 12, megapixel, ultrawide, sensor, 5, megapixel macro lens and then a 5 megapixel depth sensor or on the iPhone 12. We have a 12 megapixel wide angle, lens a 12 megapixel ultra-wide sensor, so a dual camera setup on the iPhone 12. Now what I can tell you in my experience from using both of these cameras is that with the a51 you're, getting an okay camera sensor with the additional with just a quadruple camera set up. It's just something. That's kind of so funny because they just kind of throw in just random cameras, and just kind of you know make it look like it's way better than it is.

The ultrawide sensor is super. You know relevant, and I like that, but the macro in depth lens for a lot of people is not really necessary. So especially for someone like me, I just like taking the camera or taking the photo and moving on, and the iPhone is really, really good at that. The Samsung Galaxy 51 has a lot of features built into the camera, but in the sheer raw photos, if you're taking them in bad conditions, if you're taking them, you know in kind of not so good lighting conditions, you're, definitely not going to have the best type of quality. From these specific photos.

From my experience- and I feel like these are the type of photos where the iPhone 12 really shows its capability because of the software enhancements that this specific phone has with the iPhone 12, you can take a photo in awful lighting conditions or pretty good lighting conditions, and you can still get perfect photos from either one of those subjects and because you do have super high quality modes like portrait mode and 4k 60. Those are some perfect features that you're going to have on something like the iPhone 12 over the a51. Even though the a51 has more features built into the camera, I still feel like you're, getting a much more capable phone from something like the iPhone 12 on the front. A 12 megapixel sensor on the iPhone 12, a 32 megapixel sensor on the a51, and you can only do 4k 30 on the 851, which is still actually pretty good, but you can do 4k 60 on the iPhone 12. So that's another quick thing to keep in mind.

In my opinion, from using both these phones, the iPhone 12 definitely has a far better camera sensor. Hands down now in terms of the software, this is where the iPhone 12 is definitely going to be. Taking the cake I mean the iPhone 12 is going to far outlast the Samsung Galaxy a51. By quite a bit I mean. Unfortunately, the a51 is in somewhat of a position where I'm not too sure.

If it's going to be getting one ui4, it could be. It is getting one UI 3 at some point and I think it already got it actually, but it's not going to be lasting super long. It's not going to be lasting. For you know many years to come with the iPhone 12 is going to be in that specific situation. When the a52a53 a54 or whatever new phones come out by Samsung, it's going to be outlasting a lot of those, including the Samsung Galaxy s20, the s21 and quite possibly the s22, and maybe even the s23 who knows, depending on how long apple supports the iPhone 12.

So we're definitely going to be getting a super long, lasting phone from the iPhone 12 and software I've always felt like apple really, you know rocks out in software. So in terms of software that pretty much covers it up performance wise. This is another humongous difference. The Samsung Galaxy 51 has the Enos 9611 chipsets, outscore CPU and four gigs of ram on those two base models: six gigs of ram on a know, mid-tier model and then eight gigs of ram on a top tier model where the iPhone 12 has that Apple A14, bionic chip, score, CPU and four gigabytes of ram on all the models. Now you might just look at the Samsung Galaxy a51 see how it looks.

You know it looks like a more you know, premium or better phone. So you just automatically think that it's the better performing phone and that's not necessarily the case- the Enos processor- that's inside it, or even I don't think it has a snapdragon, but from the processor inside if it's not necessarily the craziest fastest thing. The ram is actually pretty decent. If you get the top tier model, it's going to have the same amount of ram as the s20, but if most probably everyone's getting the mid-tier model or the bottom tier model. In my case, I bought the modem tier, the know.

Bottom tier the lowest base monophone, you can buy from the a51 and I didn't have a horrible experience with it, but you can definitely tell it's a more budget phone and I actually, you know, think a lot more of this problem is due to the specific software. I don't think one UI 2. Is that great? I think one UI 3 is an improvement, but I just don't know. I think the software really limits a lot of what you know. These budget tier phones can do from Samsung, but apple.

On the other hand, even though it's a cheaper phone from apple, it's still more expensive than the a51, but you're definitely getting way better performance and way smoother performance for sure. The iPhone 12 feels and performs like a very, very good. You know premium to your phone and there's not a lot of differences between an iPhone 12 and the 12 pro or the 12 pro max. The main differences are for the ram and with the iPhone 12. The speed and the performance are all there.

So you're. Definitely getting a really, really good performing phone from the iPhone 12 and a better performing phone from the iPhone 12 than the galaxy a51. So if performance is something that you're really trying to focus in on just know, you are going to be getting a far better performing phone from something like an iPhone 12 than on the Samsung Galaxy a51, but price per value, the a51 isn't a bad performing phone. You know for the price. If you can get it for less than 300, I don't think it's a bad performing phone.

It just so happens that it's not as smooth or not as fast as something like an iPhone 12, which are both phones that I'm comparing here so in terms of performance that pretty much covers it up now, ending it off with the battery life. The a51 has a 4 000 William hour battery. The iPhone 12 has a 2815 William hour battery and battery life. Comparison is really easy. I can tell you the a51 has the better battery life throughout, but the iPhone 12 does have wireless charging, which is something that definitely adds in the battery department.

So that's kind of how I would say it. The iPhone 12 you know, has wireless charging more battery features, but the a51 has better battery life overall. So to kind of sum up this video and answer the question: should you go and pick up an iPhone 12, or should you go and pick up a Samsung Galaxy 51? Well, what I can tell you are: is that there's definitely not a perfect phone per person and with the a51 you're getting a pretty decent phone overall, it's definitely not perfect. It definitely doesn't have like the craziest amount of capabilities, but I think from a day-to-day use with the 851 you're getting a good budget phone for the most part. The panel on it is actually pretty good.

You know, I don't think it's a horrible panel, but you're getting kind of the same type of looking phone as something like a Samsung Galaxy s20 which, in my opinion, is actually pretty decent you're, getting USB type-c you're, getting really, really good battery life, which is really nice, and I think it's better than the iPhone 12 you're, getting a good-looking phone for the most part. You're getting one UI updates for the time being, and I don't think it's a slow phone, but it's definitely not as fast as something like an iPhone 12, and I think that's where the iPhone 12 really you know, picks up and the iPhone 12 has a really premium feeling you know feeling to it. It feels like a much better feeling phone than the galaxy 51. The screen, I think, is better on the iPhone 12 you're, getting a much better longer. Software support, I mean by the time the a51 is done.

The iPhone 12 probably won't even be like halfway through its life cycle. You have a better camera setup on the iPhone 12 that dual camera setup is way better than the a51 quadruple camera setup, you're, getting IP certification and, in my opinion, you're just getting a way better phone. If it came down to both of these and if price wasn't a problem, the iPhone 12 would be 100 the phone that I would recommend everyone to buy, but the galaxy 51 for the price tag that it is. It's a perfect priced phone. It's not a bad price phone and I have a lot of respect for you know: Samsung making phones at these price tags, but I think the iPhone 12 is definitely the better phone when it comes down to it.
