iPhone 12 Vs iPhone 12 Mini Review Comparison - Should I buy the iPhone 12 Mini or 12?

So this year, apple bought out four new iPhones and two of those iPhones are the iPhone 12 and the iPhone 12 mini. Now, apart from the iPhone 12 mini being smaller compared to the iPhone 12, are there any big differences in text bets in doing a comparison between both these phones? Well, we're going to find out in this iPhone 12 mini versus an iPhone 12 review coming up right after this. So if you want to hear the latest gaming news, tech, news reviews and comparisons hit that subscribe, button, followed by the bell so last year, apple introduced us to the iPhone 11, and it was an incredible phone. However, this year we've had the introduction of the iPhone 12. However, one phone- what is brand new to the lineup this year, is the iPhone 12 mini and a lot of you are wondering what are the major differences between an iPhone 12 normal and the iPhone 12 mini apart from the size. So I've decided to do you guys a bit of a comparison to show this, so I'm going to do a basically an iPhone 12 versus an iPhone 12 mini review of comparisons of tech specs.

However, before we go on any further, this channel has just got over 85 000 subscribers. What is absolutely amazing so because of this, I've decided a bit of a giveaway that when we get over 100 000 subscribers, I'm going to give one lucky subscriber something special, and it is this. It is an iPhone 12 Pro in pacific blue. Now, if you want to get your hands on this iPhone 12 Pro, all you need to do is just listen on further into this video, and I'll explain how you can get your hands on this iPhone and when we get over 100 000 subscribers, I will announce who the lucky subscriber is, who has got their hands on this iPhone 12 Pro, but make sure to find out if you're going to be the lucky winner of this, that you have subscribed to this channel and also hit that notification bell right. Let's continue on, so we saw four new iPhones this year we have the iPhone 12 Pro max the iPhone 12 Pro the iPhone 12 normal and also the iPhone 12 mini.

So just to confirm to you guys this video is a comparison between the iPhone 12 normal and the iPhone 12 mini. So we've got lots of different comparisons to make. So, let's have a look at them at this iPhone 12 versus the iPhone 12 mini review. So this year there was a bit of a change with the actual display type so last year with the iPhone 11 normal model and just like the iPhone 10r the year before we had an LCD screen on the phones, but this year for both the iPhone 12 and the iPhone 12 mini. We actually have an OLED display this time it gives a clearer and sharper picture.

Now with that sharper display is the actual screen sizes. What is the biggest changes or the biggest differences between both of these phones? The iPhone 12 sports, a 6.1 inch display and the iPhone 12 mini, has a 5.4 inch display. This is more than half an inch display size difference between both of these phones, and it is one of the biggest changes between both of them now with the screen resolution for both of these phones they're also different, because the iPhone 12 is larger than the iPhone 12 mini. So the resolution of the iPhone 12 is 2532 by seventy 1170. The iPhone 12 mini is 2340 by 1080, and yes for anybody who knows their bits and pieces with TVs, for example, 1080 or 1080 is the normal sort of display you get on a full HD TV, so you're getting basically a full HD display on a small 5.4 inch display foam. What is absolutely incredible, and because of this, the pixel per inch on both of these phones is really high, so the iPhone 12 has a 460 pixels per inch, while the iPhone 12 mini has a 476 pixels per inch.

Now this might be an increase of 16, more pixels per inch on the iPhone 12 mini. But, to be honest, you probably would not be able to tell the difference with the eyes that we have in our heads. Even if you've got the best eyesight in the world, you probably wouldn't be able to see the difference. So really they look the same. Something else that is shared between both of the phones is the actual display refresh rate both of the phones have a 60 hertz refresh rate this year.

This is a little disappointing for some of us out there as other phones out there, not even flagship level, but mid-range and budget phones actually have a 90 hertz display or in some cases the 120 hertz display for those budget and mid-range phones. So for the iPhone not to have a higher refresh rate, it was a little of a disappointment this year, but, like I said, both of them have the same refresh rate next of all is a display protection. Both of the phones have ceramic shield, and this is a new type of glass technology that apple has invented, and basically it means the glass strength is about four times stronger than what was on the iPhone 11 and the 11 pro that came out last year. So this means any scratches, or if you drop the phone from a height, it's pretty much said that the phone will probably survive. However, I wouldn't test it, but you do have that kind of guarantee, and you also do have that good feeling inside that your screen is probably not going to crack on impact at not really high levels of dropping it.

So next of all, we have the actual processors and the guts inside the phone. So both these phones share the brand new a14 by onyx chipset, and it's identical in both phones. Now the a14 chipset is actually around about 20, faster than the a13 bionic that we saw in the iPhone 11 last year and ram amounts this year have gone up for the iPhone 12 normal compared to the iPhone 11 normal. The iPhone 11 last year came with three gigabytes of ram and this year for both the iPhone 12 and the iPhone 12 mini. We do have four gigabytes of ram inside again for storage sizes.

For both these phones, they are identical. You have a choice of 64, gigabytes, 128, gigabytes and 256 gigabytes on both of the phones and because these phones are both iPhones. You do not get expansional storage, so no SD card slot. However, though there are loads of cloud offerings out there, including some by apple, where you can store your pictures up in the cloud for a very modest fee per month. Next, we have been the operating system and both these phones came out.

The same time, so they both have apple iOS, 14, and I'm sure both these phones will be updated and get support of the new iOS's for the next four to five years. Next of all is another big change between these two phones, and that is the battery size and obviously the size of the phone reflects this in the size of battery what can be put in each phone, so the iPhone 12 has a 2815 William battery, while the iPhone 12 mini only has a 1821 William battery. Now this does mean, probably in theory, that the iPhone 12 battery will last longer because at the end of the day, it is basically a third bigger than the iPhone 12 mini battery and the screen size is only half an inch bigger. However, though, with charging these batteries there will be some changes, and that is seen here where both the phones do have a lightning wired connection and can accept 20 watt charging and also have got that wireless mag safe up to 15 watts. It is more likely the iPhone 12 mini will charge far quicker compared to the iPhone 12.

Because of this smaller battery size at the end of the day, you just got to remember: if it's a smaller battery, it will take quicker to charge if the same amount of power is being pushed into both of these batteries at the same time, in both phones. So, basically, you've got a choice here of that you can have a battery that lasts a bit longer in the day in the iPhone 12, or you can have an iPhone 12 mini where the battery might not last as long, but it is faster to charge it up. Next is the weight of both of these iPhones and the iPhone 12 comes in at 164 grams. Why the iPhone 12 mini is 135 grams. Obviously, the iPhone 12 mini was going to weigh less because it is a smaller phone.

Next is the water resistance inside the phone and both of the phones, I'm glad to say, are both ip68, and they can be dropped in clear water up to six meters for up to 30 minutes now, six meters is quite a bit to be fair and if you did drop it up to this depth, I'm sure the phones would survive in that 30 minutes. But yourself, you might not. If you hold your breath going down to six meters, but you know you can give it a try yourself if you want to next, are the ports on both of these phones, so both phones support, lightning charging connectors at the bottom of them no USB this year, and also there are no headphone ports on both of these phones. However, though, you can connect wireless headphones and also, if you use a lightning to 3.5 jack, you could also do that to listen to some music for music as well. We have the stereo speakers and both of the phones, I'm pleased to say, have stereo speakers and the speakers are around the same size for both of these phones, but I think the iPhone 12 has a slightly louder output than the iPhone 12 mini, but there isn't much in it this year.

All the iPhones got 5g no iPhones had 5g before, so it was perfect to see all four handsets to support, 5g and all of their phones. So there's no difference here between both of them. The same with Bluetooth connectivity, both of those phones have 5.0 or Bluetooth.5.0 connectivity built right in next are the rear cameras on both these phones and yet, even though the iPhone 12 mini is a smaller phone, the camera's set up is exactly the same. They both feature a 12 megapixel wide lens and a 12 megapixel ultra-wide lens, and they can both record up to 4k video and the same with the camera features. Both these phones have a five time.

Digital zone both have a two times optical zoom. Both can do night mode. Both can do deep fusion and both have smart hdr3. Literally, the cameras are identical on the back, as well as being identical on the front, with both the phones having a 12 megapixel sensor and lens on the very front of the phone and again, both these phones can record up to 4k video. Now.

The next bit is the price for both of these phones, and there is a bit of a difference here. You do pay 100 less for an iPhone 12 mini compared to an iPhone 12, and this is, for example, the same exact base model. What is the 64 gigabyte model of both of these phones so 799 for the iPhone 12 and 699 dollars for the iPhone 12 mini, and the main difference is as we've discussed here is got to be the actual size, and that's why it is slightly cheaper again for colors for both of the iPhones. There are five colors and those five colors are exactly the same for both handsets and those colors are black white, the product red and the green and the blue color. What you can see here so, as you can see, both the iPhone 12 and the iPhone 12 mini, are basically identical to me.

The biggest two differences between both of these phones is that screen size and also, at the same time, that battery size as well, where the iPhone 12 battery is probably about one third bigger than the battery inside the iPhone 12 mini. However, the iPhone 12 mini would be able to charge up its battery quicker because at the end of the day, the charging capability and the wattage is identical for both of these phones. So this leads me on nicely to that giveaway that I spoke about earlier for the iPhone 12 Pro. So what I'd like to know from you is what iPhone 12 model? Are you planning on buying, or maybe you're, not planning on buying an iPhone, or maybe you're, not upgrading anytime soon, I would love to know in the comments below and when we get over 100 000 subscribers?
