iPhone 12 Pro Vs iPhone 7 Plus! (Comparison) (Review)

Welcome back everyone time to do another comparison, this time around between the iPhone 12 Pro and the iPhone 7 plus now notice how we're on 69 battery life. That is very inappropriate. Now I'll tell you right now. This is kind of like a random comparison, but I love the iPhone 7 plus, and this used to be my main phone that I use for many months and the 12 pro isn't my new. You know main device that I use every day and I can definitely tell you there's a lot of pros a lot of cons, but the biggest difference. I think, between these two would probably come in the price tag.

The iPhone 12 Pro right now cost a thousand dollars brand new. The iPhone 7 plus does not cost a thousand dollars even cost a thousand dollars when it first came out, and that was the flagship in 2016 at the time, and what I can tell you is you can pick up these things for, like 250, probably even less than that right now too. So if you want to pick up either one of these for the cheapest prices that I find on Amazon, I'll link them down below, you can get them from there and help support the channel at the same time now side by side, you can definitely see that there's quite a bit of differences in terms of the sizes. The iPhone 7 plus is a way bigger device in every dimension, it's longer, and it's wider, but it's funny because it actually has a smaller display than the iPhone 11 Pro or the 12 pro. For that matter now, on the front, I can definitely tell you the iPhone 7 plus, with its 5.5 inch display, even at the time it wasn't bad and even now, like it's not a horrible panel, but I think everything surrounding the display is the outdated part. You know the huge top bezel huge bottom bezel and that you know home button does make a little of sense, because with that bottom bezel, you know it makes sense.

Why there's you know quite a bit of bezel there, but I think for a day-to-day use. I just don't think people like this design anymore, even with the iPhone SE 2. I don't think a lot of people were looking at the design at that price tag and feeling like it was old phone, but definitely when you compare them side by side, the iPhone 12 Pro doesn't look like a way. Newer device with a 6.1 inch super retina, Dr OLED panel, and this is probably one of the best panels apple's ever made. But I will tell you, of course, going from the seven plus to the 12 pro you're, going to be getting a much better display, but going from a phone like an 11 port or even an iPhone 10 to an iPhone 12 Pro.

It's not really that much difference, if, I'm being completely honest, I'm not trying to hate on the 12 pro. But I think everything like I said just like with the 7 plus everything's, trying to display everything surrounding the iPhone 12 pros display has changed. We now have those flatter sides which look really, really nice. When you feel the phone in the hand, it really does feel like a flagship device when you feel the iPhone 7 plus in the hand, it still feels good, both of them feel premium, but I definitely will give the edge to the 12 pro for sure now, in terms of the thickness you'll, definitely be able to see that the iPhone 7 plus it might seem and look thinner than the 12 pro, and that might be the case, but definitely when I feel both in the hand the seven plus for sure feels thinner in the hand, and now I don't know the dimensions that may be the case. The 12 pro, though, feels way more premium, and that is something that's very, very important to note with that aluminum or whatever this is.

It definitely feels and looks very, very good. In my opinion, and on the back, you can see triple camera setup with a LIDAR sensor on the iPhone 12 Pro dual camera setup on the seven plus you do have like whatever this is aluminum or whatever, on the iPhone 7 plus pack. But you have this frosted glass back on the back of the iPhone 12 Pro, and this definitely feels very, very premium. In my opinion, now you still have IP certification on both phones, but it is far better on the iPhone 12 Pro than on the iPhone 7 plus. So that's another big thing to keep in mind, and on top of that, like I said before, the iPhone 12 Pro feels like a more premium device, which is perfect, but you're also spending a lot more money on the 12 pro as well.

You also have that MagSafe capability on the back of the 12 pro. So if you like it go for it, but I don't really. I have the magazine charger. I don't even use it at all to be completely honest, but if you want to then go for it, the iPhone 7 plus does not support any wireless charging. So keep that in mind so in terms of the outside that really pretty much covers it up for the most part now hating on the software updates.

Obviously this phone came out in 2016. This phone just came out, so the 12 pro is going to outlast the iPhone 7 plus every single way. You look at it, but the 7 plus still had a pretty good life cycle too, with its 810 fusion chip inside it, it's still going to be getting some software updates, but the 12 pro for sure is going to outlast the iPhone 7 plus when it comes down to it. This phone is going to last multiple more years than the 7 plus as of right. Now I guess it doesn't really matter, but I think within, like a next year or two years, we're probably gonna start seeing these seven plus you know be phased out from the software life cycle.

So keep that in mind, but that really pretty much covers it up in terms of software standpoint now hitting on the performance I'll go ahead and do a speed test between them. The iPhone 7 plus had that Apple A10 fusion chip with three gigabytes of ram, the first iPhone to bring three gigabytes of ram. The iPhone 12 Pro, on the other hand, has that Apple A14 chip inside it, with six gigabytes of ram, so twice the amount of ram on this phone than the seven plus. So let's go and see which one is the faster one between both of these okay. Let me go ahead and clear on all the apps in the background and let me go and increase the brightness on both as well.

So let's go and start loading these apps up. Let's do their app stores three two one, and even I want you to note. The animation speeds as well. Look how fast the iPhone 12 Pro was able to not only load the app, but also just the animation scrolling. Through I mean they look about the same.

I don't really see that big of a difference, but even just in this first app, I was able to see some differences for sure now notice the closing speeds, as you can see, the iPhone 12 Pro instantaneous because of that gesture, the iPhone 7 plus a little behind nothing too crazy, but definitely something to note. Now I have a bunch of these third-party have, so we can go ahead and get into let's go and open up Netflix three two one iPhone 12 Pro again is the faster one, iPhone 7, plus a little behind and again delay in the home button press for sure, Quizlet, 321, 12 pro so much faster, seven plus noticeably behind the Dropbox app three two ones. Why did I say that so awkward again, the soft pro so much faster, the 7 plus is noticeably behind yet again, and I think the 7 plus is still a pretty decent 2016 phone? But it's very interesting to see the differences in terms of the speed we do. BFA, 3, 2, 1. And 12 pro is faster.

Seven plus eventually gets into it a little behind it for sure that one was, I think, less noticeable. Thank you three two one, but it's still a faster phone on the 12 pro for sure, but I love seeing these differences too. As you can see, the 12 pro is faster, but also keep in mind that the 7 plus is a 2016 phone. It doesn't cost a thousand dollars anymore, it costs like whatever 250 or whatever it is, and I think for the seven plus performance still actually pretty decent. To be honest, let's do snake versus blocks three two one, twelve pro faster, seven plus a little behind this, isn't a too crazy big of a game, but maybe you'll still be able to see some glitches on some device, maybe 7 plus- and you can see how much glitching is going on with the 7 plus the 12 pro is able to handle it perfectly fine, let's go ahead and do fruit, ninja 3, 2 1.

! Now I may have to input my age or something like that on here, because it's glitched up a lot- and I guess not, but even just the animation speeds and everything look how much faster it was on the 12 pro, and eventually we do get into this little pop-up, but I don't even have to restart it for you guys to see that big of a difference. Let's do paper out two three, two one and the twelve pro was faster. The seven plus was a little behind it. A less noticeable difference here, but the twelve pro is still faster in terms of gameplay. Let's see, if there's a difference, and I don't feel like there's going to be that big of a difference here, I almost died.

Uh gameplay-wise, they look almost the same, but definitely speed opening temple, one two, three two one and the twelve pro faster, seven plus still taking its time on downloading a little pop-up here, but we'll kind of factor that into the whole entire speed, we'll give it like an extra millisecond, and even then I mean you can still see even with that pop-up. The 12-pro is way ahead of it. For sure, I mean we're just now getting into it, and this FM plus eventually loads into it, but that for sure was faster on the iPhone 12 Pro real racing. Three two one there could be a chance where the seven plus has to download it so kind of keep that in mind, but I mean even then, I'm sure the 12 pro would still be faster, and we did get a little glitch of it downloading, but we went back into the app. So I'm not too sure what that's about the 12 pro is the faster one here for sure and the seven plus.

I guess we'll just go ahead and just say that the 12 pro is faster here, and I think that really pretty much, we can do stack three two one even clicking open the app smoother on the iPhone 12 Pro the ad was faster on the iPhone 12 Pro as well, and I think that really pretty much covers up most of the apps that I wanted to test now. I can definitely tell you when it comes down to it. The iPhone 12 Pro is the faster phone ram measurement is going to be better on the iPhone 12 Pro I wouldn't say twice as better, probably but the 12 pro's ram management is going to be better, and I can definitely tell you when it comes down to it. You're going to be getting a much much much faster device on the iPhone 12 Pro on every dimension. You look at it.

Ram management, speed, opening apps. You know game plan, apps everything it's going to be much better on the iPhone 12 Pro, which is expected, but if you already have a 7 plus going to a 12 pro, isn't your only option? You can always get an iPhone, 11, and you're going to see pretty big upgrades from there too. So I think definitely when it comes down to it. The 12 pro is a noticeably faster phone than the iPhone 7 plus and ram management is better too so in terms of speed comparison that pretty much covers it up. Now, it's going to hit on the cameras.

Now I will do a full camera comparison between these, but I'll quickly hit on them. Here we have a triple camera setup on the iPhone 12 Pro 12 megapixel wide 12 megapixels, ultra white 12, megapixel telephoto lens with that LIDAR sensor, with the iPhone 7 plus, has a dual 12 megapixel lens a wide and a telephoto lens. Now in terms of the user interfaces, they are almost identically, the same of course, with that telephoto lens and the telephoto lenses on both. You don't have that ultra white sensor on the 7 plus, but that's kind of a big deal in my opinion, because when you're you know looking at newer phones with almost the exact same features in the cameras, that's kind of weird now you can do 4k at 60. On these you know 12 pro.

I think you can only do 4k 30 on this phone and the front cameras, I think, is where the bigger differences are. You can only do 1080p on the front camera of the iPhone 7 plus you can do 4k 60 on the front camera of the iPhone 12 Pro. So if you're somebody who takes a lot of selfies, and you take a lot of front facing videos, you're going to be getting better quality from a phone like the 12 pro than on the iPhone 7 plus now I still think for a majority of people out there. The iPhone 7 plus this camera is probably okay. I don't think it's a dealbreaker if you pick this phone up, but just know that you're kind of missing out on some features.

You know you do have portrait mode on both, but the lack of you know like the 4k 60 and everything I think is. You know really, really good, but I think in terms of a quality standpoint, I think that's probably where this phone's lack most lackluster in. If that makes any sense, including the front camera. I wish this phone had a better front camera. You know I use this phone for several months and I enjoyed it, but I really did wish this thing had a front-facing camera that was better than the one I was equipped with, but back in 2016, this camera and this phone was pretty good.

This was the first phone from apple to bring a dual camera setup. Now I will tell you now: I will tell you when it comes down to the 12. Pro is the far better camera for sure you're, getting better quality photos, better quality videos, higher resolution, filming on the front facing camera as well, and I'll definitely say with that ultrawide sensor. I do like an ultrawide sensor more than I like a know, telephoto lens, but the fact that you have both on this camera is really, really good. Now, the seven plus this camera, I think for, like I said, a majority of people out there.

It's probably good enough, but I would still rather have like the better. The camera is the better. The longevity is so that, in terms of the camera, the 12 pro definitely wins. The 7 plus is still good enough for a lot of people, but I'll definitely say the 12 pro is the better camera for sure now, ending it off with the battery life. I actually did do a full battery comparison between these two, but I don't know when I'm dropping this video, so hopefully I already dropped it by then, but the 7 plus battery life was like one of the first ones to die.

The iPhone 12 Pro does have noticeably better battery life than the 7 plus, which is weird because this phone has a smaller battery than this phone. But I think that has a lot to do with iOS 14. , this phone on iOS 14 has been pretty stable, but the battery life hasn't been that great and the 12 pro did beat it in the battery life test that I did, but I would still say, the 12 pro battery life is probably more optimized on iOS 14 than the 7 plus is so maybe by the time I mean, if you still have iOS 13 on your 7, plus that battery life is probably just as good as the 12 pros. Maybe but hopefully I can get an iOS 13 devices, that's on the iPhone 7 plus, and maybe I can go ahead and test it further. But in terms of battery that covers the hub now to end off this video and to answer the question: should you get the iPhone 12 Pro? Should you pick up the iPhone 7 plus? What I can tell you is between both phones, going from the 7 plus to the iPhone 12 Pro is a really, really good update in pretty much every single category.

The 12 pro is going to Alaska 7, plus it's faster than the 7 plus. It has better cameras, better performance, better battery life, it's an overall better phone than the iPhone 12 than the iPhone 7 plus and there's just nothing that the seven plus really beats it in that can really, you know, compare it to your wireless charging and all those other things, but I still think like with the seven plus, if you can even just squeeze out a couple more months, you can pick up some iPhone, 12s and even 12 pros that are going to be cheaper in the used market than where they are now. But on top of that, you know it's still a pretty decent phone, you still have decent performance, and it's just a decent phone overall, every single you know, category of this phone is decent, there's nothing that this phone really excels in anymore, which is not a problem to the 7 plus, but also consider yourself having a huge asset. You know, because with the 7 plus, it costs whatever it does like a 250 200. It can't go down in value that much so, if the longer you keep it the longer the know the more of a chance that these newer iPhones will go down in value, which is a huge thing, so you can pick up an iPhone 11 in the used market for pretty cheap, iPhone, 10rs and I'll.

Tell you going from an iPhone 7 plus to even an iPhone 10r is a pretty big upgrade in my opinion. So if you can snag one of those up for that price, you know I would probably recommend it, but definitely when it comes down to both of these, the iPhone 7 plus is just not as good of a phone as a 12 pro it's the 12 pro is just the way better phone in every dimension, but I'll still say, like I said before, if you have a 7 plus also going to an iPhone 10 or going to iPhone 11, those are also pretty decent upgrades too.
