iPhone 12 Mini Unboxing - What's Included! By Stetson Doggett

This is it this is iPhone 12 mini apple's, smallest and most powerful iPhone. Yet let's unbox this phone and find out what comes included you'll first notice, that this box is one of the smallest iPhone boxes. We've ever seen on the left and right, it says iPhone on the top and bottom we have apple logos and on the back, we have more details about the specific make model, storage capacity and color of this phone. This is the 64 gigabyte white, iPhone, 12 mini taking the plastic off here and opening the box. We are immediately greeted with the iPhone 12 mini itself. Let's set that off to the side for now and see what else comes included, or rather, what's not included, because it's looking a little sparse in the box this year.

Up top, we have a square pamphlet that houses, the sim eject tool, warranty safety and health information, as well as the single apple sticker on the bottom. You'll find a 1 meter, USB c to lightning cable, and that's it. That is all that is included with iPhone 12 mini apple has removed the previously included 5 watt power adapter, as well as the Apple EarPods with lightning connector. They say it's for the environment and help reduce carbon emissions for their carbon-neutral goal by 2030, but I think it was also in part to help reduce costs. So Apple could include the millimeter wave 5g antennas and the new iPhone 12 mini.

One thing I do want to touch on is many people are complaining that apple included an USB charging cable in the box when most iPhone users have the older, USB type-a power adapter. So the new phone cable won't work with the old chargers. This is a reasonable point, but we also have to keep in mind that the people who have the older power adapter also have an older charging cable to go with it. So it's no big deal to me, and it's actually kind of nice.

You can now, finally plug in your new iPhone 12 into one of your new laptops that uses the USB port. Speaking of the iPhone. Let's take a closer look at the iPhone 12 mini itself and wow. This thing is small you'll notice. There is a single covering protecting the front of the phone apple actually switched to paper this year, instead of their usual plastic, and they also put little icons on the paper for the power button.

Ringer switch volume buttons and even the charging port at the bottom. Let's quickly set up iPhone, 12 mini and cover some key hardware features and design changes of this device. Okay, so the first thing we need to talk about here is the size. The iPhone 12 mini is tiny. Here it is next to the iPhone 12 Pro you can see how that looks like the iPhone 12 mini is smaller in pretty much all dimensions here, and here it is next to the Google Pixel 5.

If you know someone with a pixel 5. Hopefully this gives you a good idea of how the two devices compare in size. And lastly, this is kind of like a laughable comparison, but this is the iPhone 12 mini next to the Samsung Galaxy s20 plus yeah. It's just comical how small the iPhone 12 mini is in comparison. But honestly, I love the smaller form factor.

The iPhone mini has a more comfortable 5.4 inch super retina Dr display in the front. It is the same OLED display found in the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro just smaller. It has a peak brightness of 625 nits, a resolution of 2340x1080 and a PPI of this is actually the highest PPI of any iPhone 12 model and any iPhone apple has ever released, and it looks great. Protecting the display is what apple calls ceramic shield. It's a new type of glass made from embedding NATO ceramic crystals into the glass matrix and apple claims.

This manufacturing process gives the glass four times the drop resistance up top. You still have your face ID sensor. It's the same hardware as before apple calls, it their true depth, camera system, and it includes a 12 megapixel camera capable of shooting 4k 60 frames per second video, a dot, projector, infrared camera, flood illuminator proximity sensor and a microphone. What I think is cool is the earpiece speaker on the top will actually work in tandem with the bottom firing speaker to create a stereo listening experience. Also, on the bottom of the phone is the lightning port for charging and a microphone.

The frame of the iPhone 12 mini is constructed from anodized aluminum, which has a beautiful matte finish and is honestly a lot lighter than the stainless steel frame on the iPhone 12 Pro on the right side of the phone. We have our power button, which might be the most comfortable and easy to reach power button on any of the new iPhone 12 models and on the left. We have our similarly easy to reach volume, buttons and ringer mute switch. The LTE and 5g antenna bands are also built into the aluminum frame, which is why you have these break points that you can see here and also why you have this oval shaped cut out. On the right hand, side this cutout is a pass through for the new millimeter wave 5g antennas apple kept the same glass design for the back of the iPhone 12 mini.

The back has a glossy finish, and it's accented by the camera bump, which has a frosted glass finish speaking of cameras. They got some excellent improvements. This year, Apple is using the same 12 megapixel sensors from last year, but the regular wide angle camera got a new 7 element lenses with a wider f 1.6 aperture. This should result in sharper images and better low light performance. All cameras on the mini, including the front-facing, true depth, camera also now get apple's smart hdr3 system.

They can now take night mode shots, and they can even process deep fusion photos. The rear cameras can record up to 4k 60 frames per second video with extended dynamic range up to 4k 30 frames per second video, with Dolby Vision, HDR and can record up to 1080p 240 frames per second for slow motion. The last big new thing with iPhone 12 mini is it now has mag safe for iPhone MagSafe for iPhone takes the existing QI. Wireless charging system adds in a sensitive magnetometer and NFC coil and, most importantly, adds in a ring of magnets. The magnets are used to align iPhone 12 perfectly with apple's MagSafe wireless charger.

Every time you set your phone down, the magnets can also be used with compatible accessories, such as Apple Silicon cases, welkin's upcoming, MagSafe car mount or moment's new lineup of magnetic tripod mounts and that's iPhone, 12 mini it's a small but mighty iPhone and one of the most comfortable and usable form factors we've seen in a flagship device for a while.
