iPhone 12 Mini: 6 Months Later!

Welcome back everyone, the iPhone 12 mini, has actually been out for quite a bit of time. Now, so, let's go and see how this bad boy holds up six months later, I cannot believe it's been six months. There's been a lot of things that has changed with this specific device and, to be honest, the biggest thing that's changed is the fact that we may not even be getting a successor to this phone because of the sales numbers, and it's very sad, you know anytime, a phone manufacturer takes a plunge or takes a change, and you know they kind of see what the market says, and it doesn't end up working that actually ends up being pretty sad and hopefully, apple keeps making the miniseries. I think a lot of people like them. Maybe they don't have as many fans, but the people who have this phone really enjoy it from what I can tell, even though it's like a smaller number, it feels like the love for this phone is higher than any other iPhone. To be honest, if you want to pick this thing up, links will be down in the description you get them from there and help support the channel at the same time now.

Another major thing that has changed is the price tag. You know this thing was 729 dollars. Theoretically, when it first came out, you can actually pick these things up for a little cheaper, but I really do think if apple stops making. You know these miniseries, it's probably going to end up being something like this. You know the iPhone 12 midi is going to go down in price a little and then probably a year or two from now, they're going to just shoot up in price, because a lot more people want the smaller type of iPhone and, if Apple doesn't make the successor to this.

This is almost going to be, like you know, rare item, so I've seen this time and time again with phones with gaming consoles. You know all this stuff, so that's probably what's going to end up happening. So if you want to make some money and if Apple doesn't make an iPhone 13 mini, you may want to pick up a 12 million if it's may go and bug price. I don't know, so that's another major thing. Theoretically, everything else about these phones stays the same, but we did get a lot of software updates.

So when I first bought this phone, I will tell you the battery life really wasn't that great. I was very saddened about the battery life. I feel like it could have been a lot better. Furthermore, I'm surprised they went with the approach that they did. It's a very strange thing when they, you know, make a phone like this, but they put a smaller battery, then even like and like it's just a small battery, you know it makes no sense.

The successor I the last time they used a battery size. Like this I mean the iPhone like 6 plus had a bigger size battery than this thing, and that's a very embarrassing thing. I really hate that kind of stuff, and that was one of my bigger problems. Since then, I will tell you the iOS updates have improved the battery life for all iPhone 12s. I don't know what it was when they first came out.

It was awful. Usually it's the opposite. Usually it's like a perfect battery life, and then it gets worse and worse over time. This was the opposite. It was pretty bad when it first came out for all iPhone 12s, and then it got better around like iOS, 14.1.1 or 14.2 somewhere around there. The battery life's got better all across the board.

So I was really happy about that and I think it was like 14.2 or 2.3, because these iPhones came out after 14.1. So it was something like that, but I will tell you this battery life has gotten better. It's still not amazing the iPhone 12, the 12 pro max's still have better battery life, but I am still kind of happy with how good this battery life is on this phone as a whole. So that's another pretty big thing: that's changed we're now in iOS, 14.5.1, and we've been getting more and more updates as the time progresses. So that's another.

Pretty cool thing- and I think ultimately, this phone is a better phone now than when it first came out, and I think that's a major thing to say, but I think the only sad aspect like I mentioned is the fact that apple may not make these things anymore and if they don't, then it's going to be a very sad thing. You know I like manufacturers taking chances, and I guess we'll see what happens that display on the front, though, still very good 5.4 inch display the feeling in the hand, still feels perfect. You know it does not feel like a cheap phone or an old phone or anything like that. It's a smaller phone for sure, but it's not a bad phone, because it's smaller, you know it's a good phone, because it's smaller people like that smaller size and the performance. You know I've compared it against a bunch of different phones and all these things and I think a lot of people like this type of you know size in the hand it feels good.

It doesn't feel much slower than all these other phones and, to be honest, when I felt this thing and I felt phones like the OnePlus 9 pro and the galaxy s21, I was like man, the 12 mini and all these other phones, even the iPhone 12 like these phones, still feel perfect, they're technically cheaper a little, but they're not like that. Bad of phones, like people love these type of devices, and I love them too, because they have a lot of capability. So the outside that pretty much covers it up. The cameras are still great. This is not a camera review, but you know from what I've seen and from the newer phone manufacturers releasing their devices.

These phones still have a lot of capability, and I mean the 12 minis. Camera is very good. I love this camera, it's a solid camera for sure, and I think ultimately, like I mentioned, if you're going to pick up a phone, the iPhones tend to have the most. You know compatible, not the most compatible, but they're the most consistent cameras. It just seems, like you know what you're getting from these cameras.

It's not going to be anything crazy, and the results are very, you know expectable. I don't know if that's a word, but you expect what the results are going to be. It's not like it's going to be perfect in one photo and awful in you know another photo. It's just very consistent, 4k 60 on the back 4k 60 on the front, very good cameras for sure, and I's one of my biggest. You know assets of this specific device.

The software updates. You guys already know this one's going to be lasting for a very long time. So there's no point in getting into too many details there, but the performance of this phone. I mean you guys already know the Apple A14 bionic chip is like the best chipset out there. Right now you have four gigs of ram and ultimately, whenever I did anything with this phone and I compared it to any other phone, this device was able to handle everything I threw at it.

It was a very solid phone for sure. I think a lot of people may think that you know. Oh, like the m1 chips are going to be. You know coming out for the iPhone soon and all this stuff, but I think whether you get this phone or whether you get an iPhone 10 you're, still going to be getting a very smooth phone at the very least, but also a very fast phone. The iPhones are the smoothest phones out of any phone you can buy yeah.

Maybe the galaxies are a little faster or the one plus are a little faster or whatever, but these phones like the iPhone 12 series. These are the smoothest phones. I still don't know what it is with these android manufacturers. The pixel is like the smoothest phone and even that still isn't, even as smooth as something like an iPhone 12 mini that I mean the pixel is less smooth as android. So I'm curious to see what google is going to do if they actually make their own chipset, then that's going to make a little more of a competition against the iPhone series, but the 12 mini superfast, very capable, whatever you're going to do with it.

It's going to be perfectly fine really. My main question to you is: are you okay with using a smaller phone? I know a lot of people they're like oh, I want a smaller phone, so smaller in the pocket and this and that, but when they actually start using it, they don't realize like wow. The keyboard is actually really smart, it's really hard to type, or you know I liked a smaller phone, but sometimes, if I'm reading something is a little too hard to read things like that you're going to have to understand that they come at a cost. One of the biggest problems that I had with the 12 mini was the battery life, because it's a smaller phone they had to put a smaller size battery. That's the only thing that makes sense, and I totally get it, but it was an annoyance more than anything else- and I was just really hoping apple- could go ahead and kind of improve the battery life for the next iteration.

You know the 13 mini now. This is a twofold situation. On one hand, you know they did actually improve the battery life. A little on this series, so I'm really happy about that. You know with the later versions of iOS: they did improve the battery life as a whole.

So I think that's perfect thing, but the next thing also is you know the 13 mini may not come out, so we are learning. You know as more time and time progresses and once we get closer to the 13 release date. I guess we'll have a full. I guess idea, but this is a very big deal in my opinion, if the 12 mini does not have a successor, then it's essentially going to be almost like the iPhone SE, the original one or even the later one you're going to have these phones that maybe come out one time, and then they're just going to be. You know in the Apple stores, for a very long time after that, so the 12 mini I mean I could see apple, maybe not making the 13 mini at that point, but they have to do something with the 12 mini.

They may still keep it in the Apple stores, sell it alongside the iPhone SE 2s for a while for a couple of years, and then I guess we'll see what happens at that point, but that's eventually probably gonna, be you know the life of the 12 mini from now until the 13 minute or until we get a 15 mini or whatever it's going to be. I think you know the 12 minute as a whole. It's a phone, that's very niche down, but, like I mentioned before the people who own the 12 mini they swear by it. They love it a lot and I see very few complaints of the 12 mini. I think it's mostly because not that many people own the 12 mini compared to the standard, 12 or 12 pro 12 pro max, but take it as you will, but I think the 12 mini is still completely worth it.

If you're comfortable using this type of phone, if you're not comfortable using you know a smaller sized phone, that's going to be a little of a different situation. But if you're, okay using, and you know holding a smaller phone- and you know managing it, then this is a very good phone for you. I would highly recommend people to pick it up for sure. So in terms of that, that pretty much covers it up, if you guys have any other questions or anything.
