iPad Pro 2020 Review - Is it a MacBook Replacement?

Hi everyone Aaron here for Zollotech and the 2020 iPad Pro has been out for a little over a month and have been using it as my main device when I'm not editing video every single day. This is my favorite device currently available from Apple, and it feels most like I think what the original vision of Steve Jobs was is a personal computer that you can bring with you everywhere. That's simple and intuitive and for the most part, I think that holds true, but I've been using it every single day and I want to help. You decide if you should pick one of these up or stick with maybe a 2018 iPad Pro or maybe wait for the next one or upgrade if you've never had an iPad Pro and so in using this every single day. It's superfast and fluid. It's got that promotion display like you'd expect, so it's 120 Hertz superfast and smooth.

Furthermore, it handles multitasking, no problem, and it has the 12 Z processor in it and that's something that was a little controversial at the beginning. But it's something that other CPU manufacturers do. All the time, so basically it's an 12 CPU that also has an additional GPU core unlocked or an tiny, CPU or processor, on the graphics chip, and then it has 6 gigabytes of RAM in all models, and so it's superfast. All the time there are no slowdowns! You wouldn't really expect any slowdowns. You can edit 4k video with it no problem with things like Lima touch or Lima fusion, so you'll see here's a 4k video.

It works. Fine, you can go out of it, go back into it resume switch between. Maybe we want to switch between the app store, everything's, just super fluid and fast all the time, and so that a 12z processor I, don't know that I notice a difference over the 2018 iPad Pro, but it's super nice to use. No I do use this. All the time like I said for things like watching YouTube checking email following up on things, I use it as my main computing device and the battery life has actually been pretty good.

So we'll wait for it to load here, and it gets the expected 10 hours of battery life, so you'll see as I go back here. I use it for an hour to 4 hours every single day, depending on what today I'm using it, and you'll see this day. I used it for 42% of the battery using it for FaceTime and I, don't charge it every day either. Furthermore, I don't really have to think about it because I'm using it for a couple of hours, then I don't have to charge it. Furthermore, I plug it in when I do, and it's good to go, and that's probably the best thing.

It's got great battery life, no problems there whatsoever, and I find it to be very durable as well I know. Some people have concerns about it, bending and flexing, and while, if I do push on it a little, you can flex it. But for the most part, it's very rigid, especially if you use a case with it and using it with the magic keyboard, does use a little more battery, but not so much that I have noticed any difference at all, and so, of course, you've got the functionality of the Magic, Trackpad, and I've talked about this. In my review of the magic keyboard and with that paired with this 2020 iPad Pro, it's something I can highly recommend it's a fantastic experience now other than the battery life. You've got the cameras and the cameras are all new and are very nice, but it's not something that I personally would normally use.

In fact, I would use my iPhone camera if you have a newer iPhone and makes more sense to use the camera on the iPhone, and then it does the iPad, but maybe you're planning a video, or you're planning, something else, or maybe you're just trying to see how something works in a room. This camera is fantastic because it's a huge display so with something behind it. You can see it very clearly because you've got this giant display. It's super nice to use that way, and especially if you're, using things like an are, maybe an AR game, or maybe you're using it to place furniture in a room. It's perfect for that and Apple's new LIDAR sensor on the back helps us sense depth even more so what LIDAR does is it sends out light or laser and then measures the time that it returns from bouncing off that object back to the iPad, and you can see here what it looks like and by doing that it actually has more accurate depth sensing capability, and so it will allow you to have more accuracy with maybe measuring different furniture and rooms using it for a measuring tape and things like that.

But it's not a reason. I would run out and buy an iPad unless you're doing something specific that the iPad does so, or you need it for maybe a business and to show customers things like that. It makes a lot of sense, but with all of those new features and things. This feels more like a twenty eighteen and a half or twenty nineteen iPad Pro it's a very minor upgrade and in using this with the magic keyboard since it came out in the smart Keyboard, it's a great experience, but if you have a 2018 iPad Pro I wouldn't run out and get one because honestly I haven't noticed a single difference when using it, I haven't noticed any differences in battery life, and it feels exactly the same. The display feels the same.

The battery life feels the same and in fact, all the accessories work as well. So while you do have a larger opening on the back here, so on the back of this magic keyboard, you can see through if it's a little larger opening you put the older iPad on it. It works just fine, although you have a little bigger camera cut out. So it's just a little odd looking, but it works fine. So if you want to use it with the new magic keyboard it works instantly, just like you would expect no problems and if you have the 2018 iPad Pro you're, really not going to notice a difference upgrading to the 2020 iPad Pro now.

That said, this is a fantastic iPad and I would highly recommend it. If you don't have an iPad Pro, so maybe you have a 2018, iPad and you're looking for something a little bigger, twelve point, nine inches like this, or maybe the 11 inch, and you just want a little bigger iPad, then yes, I, would highly recommend you pick one up. The display is great. Everything is really great about it and the speakers are phenomenal. So if you haven't used, one of these I think you'd love the experience.

Now, if you have the previous iPad Pro I'm, still not sure if it's worth upgrading, but this form factor the squared off form factor the way it feels usability and everything else. Along with this Apple Pencil just makes it a fantastic experience in general, so I highly recommend it to anyone looking for it as long as you have the budget for it, so I definitely love it. I'll continue to use it, but I would love to hear from you in the comments below using it. With this magic keyboard with an extra port is just what I've been looking for all along, and I'd, really just like Final Cut Pro for it, and then I'd be really happy with it other than that. It's my favorite device Apple's ever made, since maybe the iPhone, 4 or 4s I just love this device, and I'll continue to use it every single day.

But let me know what you think about it in the comments below, if you'd like to get your hands on this wallpaper, of course, I'll link it in the description as I always do and if you haven't subscribed already, please subscribe as always thanks for watching this is Aaron I'll see you next.
