iPad Air 4th Gen Unboxing & Impressions with Indian Retail Unit

Hi guys this is transit and in this video let's do the unboxing and have a first look at this iPad 8, that's the fourth generation, or also known as 2020 edition and guys. I know I'm actually very, very late. I actually missed the initial batch of pre-bookings, and it was just almost out of stock everywhere. Even on Amazon, India. This is not available, so I had to actually source it from a local dealer here in Hyderabad. So let's do the unboxing of this one and have a first look, and I'll also compare it with my iPad Pro 12.9 inches that I have does it actually makes sense now to go with the pro series or is the regular iPad Air good enough uh and, as you can see guys, this is the GB variant Wi-Fi only. It also comes in a cellular model and also a 256 gigabyte, uh variant uh, the 64 gigabyte variant is for 54 900 and that 256 will be for about almost 69 000, so yeah, expensive and cellular models are generally about a little about 10 000 more so, let's open this up and uh to less.

We can just remove this, and you can open this, so that's actually nice and guys. I have also booked the airport pro. Some of you have asked me to compare it with the Sony's uh. That also is almost out of stock here in India, but I pre-booked it hopefully I'll get it this month. Let's see so, let's open this up and uh guys be careful about some sellers on online if you're, just typing iPad Air they're, actually selling the older third generation model.

So be aware, this is the fourth generation uh. This comes with the latest a14 bionic chip. So let's open this up and that just comes out like this, so here it is and uh this one is having an actually 10.9, almost 11-inch screen. So let's just open this up- and this is in this bluish color part- looks almost close to gray. I would say this says: iPad Apple logo and also this one actually has this connector, so that keyboard accessory actually works.

Even with this one, and if you notice here, we have the accessory for the apple uh pencil, so the Apple Pencil second generation will also work but again, as it's a separate accessory almost about ten thousand five hundred to ten thousand six hundred I'll leave the link of Amazon for that uh. So here it says, designed by apple in California, must be some paperwork and stickers. It says iPad pair, so basic stuff, no okay, that's it basic stuff, and you get actually two apples, stickers, white and color that you're getting, so I'll. Just keep this one also to the side, and fortunately we get a charging brick, and it's actually a type c, uh, brick that we are getting on this and uh. This is an USB type-c, uh, cable that you are getting yes, the even the new iPad Air is now finally moved to type-c connector.

So that's what we get in the box I'll just keep this to the side, nothing much! Let's look at this one now and uh as uh. You can see guys. This is having a 10.9-inch screen and this is again still an IPS LCD screen. No iPad actually has an AMOLED screen till now, so this is also an IPS LCD screen apple likes to call it liquid retina, and it's actually a good quality uh screen. It can go actually pretty bright, 500 nits and let me give a physical overview uh if you notice.

One interesting thing is that uh here this is the power on off button, but we also have a fingerprint scanner on this one. In fact, I prefer this to even this pro model. This pro model, actually uh, has just the face ID, and you guys know these days the face ID. If you have a mask and stuff it does not work. So in a way, I would say it's nice that they have a physical fingerprint scanner here, and here we have the volume uh rocker, and if you have the Apple Pencil, you can put it here, and it will charge wirelessly and bottom uh.

This one also has stereo speakers. One two three four looks like quad. That would be impressive. The pro has that- and here is your USB type-c port that will be used for charging and all those things, and we have the connector for the Apple keyboard. So I like the sizer to give you an idea I'll boot it.

Of course this is the bigger one uh the 12.9, and this is the new 10.9, and I feel this is actually a more practical size, because I always felt this was very, very bulky. The bigger 12.9, I would say the 12.9 would be okay, if you're a serious professional or do a lot of work with the Apple Pencil, then it would be better, but this one, if you're just using it regularly. This is the perfect size I feel so, let's do one thing: let's try to power it on and obviously yes, it has a back camera. That's a 12 megapixel over here and just it says iPad over here and the front camera is supposed to be again a fingerprint magnet. As you can see, let's just try to power it on hope.

It has some charge and guys by the time it actually boots up, and I set it up here is a configuration overview. This iPad Air is having a 10.9 inch IPS LCD screen. It's a liquid readiness screen. It has the latest Apple A14, bionic chip, it comes in 64 or 256, gigabytes of storage. Moving to the camera, the rear camera is a 12 megapixel.

The front facing camera is a 7 megapixel. It also has stereo speakers support for Apple Pencil and support. It gives the battery life of about 10 hours so guys. I have set up this uh iPad Air. So let's have a closer look at the same, and again as I've told you, I like the size of this one uh, the holding is actually very comfortable.

One interesting thing that I noticed is the about this touch ID when I was setting it up is that yes, this is a touch ID. If you just place your finger over here, it does not unlock. Actually, you have to press this button, and it unlocks, but it also asks you to set it up with another finger and, as you can see, I was using this right finger and also in this orientation. So while setting up it asks you to do uh set it up with both your fingers, so any direction if you rotate, it actually works uh. So this is typical, iOS layout that you are getting uh.

This runs on iOS version, 14 14.1 came out of the box and, as you can see, I haven't installed any apps, apart from just YouTube to check the speakers. Actually, the speakers are good. I'll show you that, but let's look at the settings and let me actually show you how much storage do you get out of the box? And if I go over about the iPad storage over here, as you can see, almost about 13.7 gigabytes is sort of actually used on this one. So roughly you will be getting just assume about 50 gigabytes of storage uh and comes with only two variants, guys 64 or 256, so based on your storage needs, decide what you want. I am okay with 64 gigabytes of storage because I use apple, iCloud storage also so that works out.

But again, if you plan to store a lot of stuff locally, then I feel uh, the 64 gigabyte variant will fill up very quickly. So just be aware of that. One thing I noticed is that, as I have even this larger version 12.9, one thing that I noticed is the icons' iconography is a lot bigger. I didn't expect that it would be such a big difference, but if you look at it the icon size of the icons, it's significantly bigger on this 12.9 and now this gives you a better idea about the size uh. I would say still say that this is not that portable to carry around because with the case it can get very, very heavy.

But again, if you do a lot of work with the pencil, then the bigger canvas is better, but for the rest of the stuff. I feel uh this one. Almost now it's 11 inches 10.9 is a perfect size. I feel uh and now, let's also look at the speakers on this one uh, I was just playing around my own video- send notifications. Okay, why not? Let's just play this hi guys this is transit and in this video let me talk about what you should look at when you.

So, as you can see, we have stereo speakers on this one, and I would say: uh. The speakers are actually good. Uh, I won't say, is as good as the 12.9 this one doesn't use does get even louder and also has slight more depth, but I would say, if I'm just looking at this one, I will not complain. The speakers are actually good on this one. So that's actually a nice thing and again, as it said, iPad generally, the iPads have very good battery life, even at the previous generations.

I never had a problem. This again apple claims about 10 hours of battery life, and I think, so realistically it should give you about 9ish hours and, if you're doing light, work even exceed slightly above 10 hours. So again, I really iPods are great for content consumption. Still, I would say if you plan to use it like a laptop, then the experience is not good. Yes, this one does support the new magic keyboard also, but again that setup will get very, very expensive and still, if you want to use it like a laptop, then I feel the MacBook Air might be a better option uh, but if you're just looking for a premium uh, what do you say uh tablet at this screen size? Then I feel this is a much better tablet if you're buying this does invest in a case uh, because again these are expensive and if you do take care of the iPads they last for a really long time.

The older iPad I had been almost about four and a half years old and still was working fine uh. Also. Now, let's also look at the cameras. Uh, uh here we have a 12 megapixel rear facing camera. I'll just take some samples and show it to you.

So here are some of the samples taken with the rear facing camera. But again I don't use the rear facing camera. A lot uh if you use it on your iPad. Do let me know, but I feel the front facing camera is becoming a lot important these days, uh because of the work from home situation, video conferencing, that we are doing, and it's a seven megapixel uh front facing camera. So here is a sample that I recorded here uh with the front-facing camera of this iPad, hi guys uh.

This sample is from the front-facing camera of the iPad Air and I feel in this vertical position. It shoots the video a lot better uh, and also it's not too zoomed in the next section, I'll actually shoot it in the landscape orientation and give you an idea so shooting this video with the iPad Air and, as you can see, I'm in this orientation- and I feel it's just too zoomed in this typical video format orientation. But if you go like this, I feel it looks a lot better. But what do you feel about the same? Do let me know in the comments section uh below and guys I double-checked. This is at 1080p, then also, I feel it's a little soft to my liking.

But what do you feel about the video quality uh? I feel it's doing a decent job crunching. This isn't completely artificial, typical indoor lighting, so guys, that's it for now, for the quick, unboxing and first look at this iPad, a fourth generation also known as the 2020 edition uh. What do you guys feel about the same? It's available for 54 900 in India, so certainly that you're paying that apple tax. But overall, I would say it's a very good tablet and I feel, as of now the iPad Pro 11 inches simply does not make any sense. This is a pretty good tablet and comes with that a14 bionic chip.

But what do you feel about the same? Do let me know uh in the comment section below and if you guys have any specific questions about this iPad Air do. Let me know in the comment section below and if I get a lot of queries, I might do a full review with this one anyways guys, that's it for now, thanks for watching this is transit and I hope to see you in my next video take care guys.
