iPad Air 2 - iOS 14 Vs iOS 8 Speed Comparison!

Welcome everyone, let's start off with the boot up in three two one and on the Left I, have the iPad Air 2 running iOS 8 and on the right I have the iPad Air 2 running the latest iOS 14 I would like to see which device is faster. Oh me personally, I believe the iPad Air 2 on iOS 8 is going to completely fresh iOS 14, keep in mind, oh my god, so iOS 14 has just beaten. Io's 8 in the boot up test. I did not expect that, to be honest, just to be clear, the iPad Air 2 is the only device ever sold by Apple to have 7 iOS updates. This device got iOS, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 and 7 updates later is still receiving the latest iOS. So let's just see which device unlocks first, and it seems like iOS 14, still be iOS 8, who remembers the no sim card and still pop up from back in the day right, I've just removed all applications for the multitasking trade on the iOS, 8 and iOS 14 device.

Let's get started with a comparison based on iOS 8 on that one: let's try calendar iOS, 8 1 that one will do photos iOS, 8 1, that one will do camera around the same will do contacts, and we had a bit of lag than I was 14 in so quite a long time. So now, let's do clock.3, 2, 1, Oh, iOS 14 actually pulled ahead. That's dude, the App Store 3 2 1, a bit of starter on iOS 14 I Oh, s8 flashes, the was 14 iPad Air 2 let's do books, 3, 2, 1, and I was a bit of hesitation here, but even with me, taking an extra seconds to tap on the icon, we are still loading on iOS 14. This is due to having an entire ecommerce store. Data needs to load.

So let's go into settings. Io's 8 1. Let's go to about 3 2 1, iOS 8. By a large margin you can see iOS 8 point for an iOS 14.9. So we're about to wrap up the first party apps overall iOS 8 wins, but by a tiny margin, I was expecting a massive margin between iOS, 14 and iOS 8, especially as this is a 2014 processor running on a 2020 operating system, almost turning 2021.

Now, let's do the third party applications. So, let's open up Minecraft, 3, 2, 1 and ha well, I guess we can't do Minecraft because it is our right crashes, interesting! So we'll do plants vs. , zombies, 2, 3, 2 1, and you can see that in the games the iOS 14 device actually lags while trying to load up the app, which is quite interesting but also keep in mind that the iOS 8 device has to use older app versions. Mycroft was actually running on the latest version, but it seemed like there was a bit of issues, and now it's asking me for the game sensor that might probably impact the launch times and zoom. It's now frozen.

So I'm going to say that this is a defective app, we'll try another one. So let's go into PV HD right here. I believe these are the same versions, and we will see which one knows up: first, okay, so iOS 8 right there has beaten, iOS, 14, we'll just continue and I kind of gave Iowa's 14 an advantage. But let's see if I OS akin steam ahead, so umm seems like yeah. It's ahead, even though iOS 14 in this state is the loading screen first seems like I was 14, I OS an even who actually be I was 14, that's quite interesting! So, if you're on the game, while your app library is basically, you will actually have fast apply.

Oh, that was the exact same. So I was eight technically won that one, because that or a second delay, but definitely very interesting at the ends. Our just was very close, so we're going to do Sonic, 1 3 2 1 just like that, and we can't do that- one because it crashes on launch. So let's do Sonic -. Ok.

This is very sad honestly, we'll do Sonic, CD, ok, so this game loads on and definitely pulling our heads on iOS 8, so on all right. Definitely winning when I was a and keep in mind. These are massive margins. This is like a whole five seconds or something which is really cool. So let's do YouTube 3, 2, 1, okay, so iOS 8 MMM.

It was a build. You know a mixed bag I'm going to do this again, so I'm actually going to close out of YouTube and try one more time. So go you two three two one and about the same really, but the loading up animation is faster on iOS 8, let's do YouTube studio. Three two one and I would say faster on iOS a keep in mind with YouTube and YouTube studio. We are using older, app versions, as the newer versions do not support the latest.

Io's I said the latest iOS 8. That makes no sense. Now, let's do music, so both of them do have Apple. Music, really cool music is for iOS 8 on this device. So will oh, don't okay seems like iOS.8 is one and actually by a large margin. Look this fused welcome the description of header fused up.

Welcome, not description. You can see iOS 8, you know. Does need a bit of work so yeah, and it's still loading on the iOS 14 device, and it just randomly put me back inside for music, and now it's fixed I know we'll start with that. To be honest, but some let's try Twitter so open up Twitter three, two one- and this is using a very odd version, so I would expect it to win, and it did win. That was a bit of an inaccurate test so on.

Let's do some more apps first party will do podcasts and iOS 8 one right there, and we'll do tips. Io's 8 one I, always like it's already loaded up right away. That's really cool! So the core tips to give quickly responds with notifications. So that was a new feature. I guess send an audio message.

That was probably a new feature right. Well, if you want to see a separate video on iOS, 8 tips leave a thumbs up, and I'll put it on my third channel. So we've opened up all of these applications. The important is: are they going to stain the multitasking? So let's do calendar? Oh, they did Wow. Let's do clock stayed in the multitasking I will do camera I've seen a multitasking um.

We will do the notes, application I, think I didn't actually load us up the first time, so, probably not good up to do. Let's do the App Store Wow, so multitasking I was expecting to fool behind an iOS 14, but on iOS 14 is perfect. Some same of iOS 8. Let's do music in the background. That's really cool! Well, let's do a game, so plants vs.

zombies, again wow. This is impressive. Let's do Sonic CD they're all staying in the multitasking view. This is really cool like I was expecting iOS 8 to be perfect, because this is the first every device released by Apple to have 2 gigabytes of RAM, the iPad Air 2, and it was running iOS 8, which is meant for 1 gigabyte of ram models and 512 megabyte round devices. Io's 14, on the other hand, is made for six ago by devices you know of RAM for gigabytes, so really cool to see that on iOS 14 is holding in there.

So, let's open up Twitter again, there's a look and both are still staying and multitasking. This is really cool, um I would say: multitasking is perfect. But again if you're gonna play like a fortnight is going to rip the multitasking apart, we opened up light applications, so overall I'm very impressed. Io's 8 did win the app launch test most of the time, but it wasn't lightened a difference. It wasn't iOS 6 on the iPhone 4s versus iOS 9 on the iPhone 4s.

It was really like. Io's 13 versus I was 14. To be honest, that's how close it was I'm very impressed on how fast the operating system loads on iOS 14 actually beat iOS 8, which I found to be really cool. Overall, you know the iPad Air 2 runs great on iOS for team, and I'm very impressed by Apple. They could have easily done what he did with the iPhone 4s and iOS 9, but instead they have refined the software to work great on the older devices and even on the latest devices.

This software still runs a great, so hope you enjoyed my speed test comparison between the iPad Air 2 running iOS, 8 to the iPad Air 2 running iOS 14, it's crazy how this iPad from 2014 is still getting software updates in 2020, and it's really crazy that they have so many software updates, like I, should really get an iPad Air 2 running iOS 8 versus iOS 9 versus 10, +, 11 versus 12, verses, 13, vs.14. This would be like I would have to get an insanely wide angle camera just to do that, but it really shows Apple does care. Now, after the fiasco with the 4s and iOS 9 and the 4 and iOS 7 point no point X, it seems like they actually want to improve the experiences of the old devices and I give a massive thumbs up to Apple for doing now. Finally, I'd like to give him massive shout out to my t3 channel member Matt. If you'd like to become a channel member check out the links in the description, a Matt's link, YouTube channel will also be in the description.

Namely I have Fracas. They were awesome. You get extra perks, while a livestream you get only video uploads like trying to members would have seen us early and so much more so check out. Channel memberships in the description down below starts at $1.99, and if you want to play games for me, it goes up to $14.99. Hopefully you enjoyed my speed test comparison.

If you did leave a like make sure you share this with anyone who might find a surprising I for iOS 8 would destroy iOS 14, but that isn't the case. That is not the case and of course this is I was 14. You can see the widgets phew and I. Only apps' manager doesn't exist on this device, but they go hope you enjoyed I'll, see you guys in my next is 14 video or bye.
