Huawei MateBook X Pro 2021 Unboxing - the most elegant laptop of the year By SHOPEE Malaysia

Now that is some sensual stuff, isn’t it? HUAWEI, HUAWEI, HUAWEI. So when we hear the name, HUAWEI right, we've directly compare it to big brands like Apple and Samsung. It's the fastest growing tech company in China. They produce smartphone. They produce laptop and hell even PC as well. We were lucky enough to be given the opportunity to play around with their latest product, HUAWEI MateBook X Pro.

So without any further delay, guys, I'm just gonna jump straight into the unboxing experience right? I just want to see what it's like in here. That is some interesting detail on the unboxing right there. See this, it lifts up. The moment you open it, it's a cool experience, right? I'm glad that HUAWEI paid attention to that. So, this is the laptop, we're going to take that out.

Inside the box, I think this is where it gets really interesting as well. I want to highlight this part. Not a lot of companies include this dongle inside your box This is a very underrated thing because knowing that a lot of laptops have switched to type C right? And we got a lot of ports removed like our HDMI, VGA, standard USB port, and kudos to HUAWEI for including this inside the box. So let us focus on today's highlight, the laptop itself. So from the get go, you can already tell how light this is.

I like the colour too, it's emerald green. I believe it has very nice touch to it. It's just super thin, super lightweight, as a matter of fact I actually have a weighing scale here, so I'm going to put it on top. That is really light. Even the laptop that I have on my room, in my house that I use on a daily basis, it's really heavy.

Really, by far, I feel like it's really slick and really interesting design. So I'm gonna start off with powering it up. I'm here today not to give you a full run through the specification, right. I am just an average consumer, like you guys are. I'm not going to get really into details but I'm going to give you my experience from an average consumer.

Right, so from the get go, like I said, I really want to highlight this part, right, design. And you can see this little amount of bezel that we have. Right, A lot more screen, real estate. This is probably the thinnest bezel I've ever seen on a laptop before, and on top of that, you got to 3K resolution on this laptop right here. When you look at it, in general, keyboard itself, it looks super clean, super slick, and even the sound itself.

It’s really really nice. So we're going to bring it closer to the mic and… Now that is some sensual stuff, isn’t it? So moving on from the design, I want to get into the touchpad and the special feature that we see more and more in laptop these days, the ability to use touch screen on this laptop The feedback on this touch screen is actually really interesting. It's super fast. I mean, from my experience, it's just something that I'm very amazed about because I myself as a consumer, right, I don't really use a lot of touchpad. Though this touchpad is super sensitive, the feedback is like on point.

And on a day to day basis, I spent a lot of my time using mouse and screen on my phone. So, having to move on a laptop that provides this feature, and I'm really enjoying this feature. Look at that, super smooth, feedback is onpoint. Kudos HUAWEI. You did really well on this one.

Moving forward, now let's talk about who is this for If I could recommend it to someone who would it be, right? Media consumption is something that I really really appreciate in this laptop. Right, I mean, the 3K full view display on its own is already satisfying enough. You can watch a lot of shows on it and it's really really crystal clear and I really appreciate. I want to talk a little bit about the audio. So they have two speakers right here and two more at the bottom.

I don't know about you guys but audio plays a huge role when it comes to media consumption. When I first watch the movie on this laptop, I was blown away. I put it on max volume. I put it on max brightness. And I was fully immersed in the whole thing.

And like with the little bezel, you know, nothing is disrupting you, that's just, you know 10 out of 10, Just to show you guys how the audio sound like I'm gonna play some of my favourite song that I vibe with. This one’s by MGK. I don't know whether you've heard of the song it's called Concerts For Aliens. So right, you can hear like how how crisp the sound is right? The audio is just like it's loud, you can hear the voice You know, the bass is just nice. The treble is just nice.

Not only that, speaking audio, right, one feature that I noticed about this laptop well is that when you put on an earphone or whatever headphone you're using, they give you this option of being able to customise the kind of sound that you like. Ok, we're going to talk about gaming I'm a very casual gamer. I play games like Dota 2, they're like Valorant but on this particular laptop, I decided to try Valorant. I'm going to show you guys that I'm going to be playing Valorant on medium to low setting thing. Hold on.

I think I need a mouse to play that fps. Aku boleh guna touch screen ke apa? But actually, with the touchscreen, I'm very bad at this kind of game. I'm not the best. But as you can see, like performance wise, it's really all right, medium to low setting. I don't know what happens if you push it to the maximum setting.

So yeah, this is the gaming performance on this laptop. I think it's pretty alright for like casual gamers, like myself. I don't really play very heavy intense games. If you're like me, then this is a perfect laptop for you then. So, speaking of gaming right, I want to talk about the battery performance as well while gaming without the charger connected to it.

So I've tried it before, it lasted about six hours at most without the charger on. And at the end of the battery the performance will drop a bit. I mean, what do you expect? Five to six hours for casual gaming? Oh ya, I'm down for that. But high intensity gaming, like I said, might as well just grab yourself a PC. Alright, moving on security.

We all know in this modern era 2020, 2021, security is a big concern when we move to a technological society. Data mining is always out there, and a lot of people are getting concerned about security. But don't worry because this laptop, got it all secure. See right here, This, you might think it's a power button, but it's also integrated as a fingerprint scanner. Another thing on security is that the webcam is also something that people are concerned about.

So you see, in cafes these days people cover their webcam with tape and all that but you can't find any on this laptop. It is hidden somewhere. Bam! It’s right here. so you can see it's hidden all the way here. you can close this, you can open it up.

It's a really interesting concept that I think other companies should really look into, because data is really something that a lot of people are concerned about. Alright, so now I will demonstrate to you how the camera looks like and how the audio sounds like from the webcam itself on this laptop. Right, so, as you can see, because of the camera being positioned so awkwardly low, you can see there's a lot of space on your end and it's a bit weird for people who are talking to me. let's say if I were to have a conference call or a Zoom meeting, this is a bit of a weird angle And usually what I do is I'll pick it up, and I'll position it like this. But the problem with this is, it can get rather tiring sometimes.

So all in all, for a guy like me I think this is perfectly fine. I'm not bothered by it but for some people who are abit OCD I guess this would be a problem But all in all I'm happy So let's talk about the next feature we have on this laptop right it's called HUAWEI share. Now what is HUAWEI share? it's basically a software that allows you to integrate your HUAWEI laptop with a HUAWEI smartphone. Now this only works with certain HUAWEI smartphones. so we're gonna give it a try so I'm going to show you how I can connect my phone to the laptop seamlessly just by putting your phone really near to the laptop and I'm going to show you how.

So there's this software right here, HUAWEI Share, right. you click Connect. You bring your phone close to it, you will receive a notification that says, allow it to connect. So just click Connect And it happens. Your phone’s connected The best part comes, we are able to use our phone in a laptop Now you tell me whether that's exciting or not.

Because usually most of the time, what we tend to do is that, okay, check my phone, back to work. Check my phone. Now you don't have to really, you don't have to. So there are so many things that you can actually do with this feature. one of it being, Let me show you.

I have two screens on my phone on my laptop, as you can see right here. And the best part is, you no longer need the cable to transfer your files. All you have to do is highlight the items you want to transfer, drag it, put it on your phone, and now you have it on your phone. It's that simple And I think that this is by far the best feature that you have, you know. especially when you need to transfer stuff from your phone to your laptop constantly and this just makes it a whole lot better.

Alright, so another thing you could do with this, HUAWEI Share right? So, let's assume that you're on a conference call and you got to take notes but you don't want to save it on your laptop so you want to save it on your phone. Since your phone is already connected to your laptop, what you have to do is open your notes file and just start typing, like this. No latency at all, no delay. I’m amazed I really am amazed by how quick this is. So let's assume you want to take a quick break from work, right, you don't feel like typing, you don't feel like researching your work, so you want to take a stroll to the park.

So Instagram per se right? So, since your phone is already connected you don't have to reach out to your phone anymore because it's already on your laptop. Welcome to Modern World, Society. Welcome. The way that, HUAWEI executed on their ecosystem, I think it's very well done. So this is more high end laptop.

who is this for? personally from my experience, I think for your average day to day worker right. The one that comes to the office, or maybe even students right. They comes to the office do very light editing and online media browsing and all that. It’s not necessarily for people who are specialised in video editing or graphic design and you might say. I do believe that requires a lot of power but this would suffice.

Also these are for big HUAWEI fans right. if you've already filled with HUAWEI devices, you cannot let this one go, man, come on. Alright, so I guess that is it for me.
