HTC U11 Life Full Tear Down With Screen Replacement Detailed Utah

Hey everyone, its Dustin with tech MD today we're going to actually be repairing a different phone, but pretty much the same phone I actually have not looked at any video tutorials or anything like this on the HTC u11 I can't turn it off, and this is HTC u11 life. So it's a little smaller, cheaper device. You can buy this at T-Mobile as where she told me she got it. Anyways I got the disc light here and, as you can see, the cable is on the inside, so it's not going to actually plug on now say, which would make life much more difficult or easier if it was kind of like a j7 or whatnot anyways. So we are going to start this repair, and you're going to need this tool. I fix it.

Is's mean tool, basically some tweezers I flex it, and I'm, assuming just a regular double zero screwdriver and some double-sided Tessa tape, all very great parts and of course, the screen itself anyways. So here we go, got to get a heat gun, I, always just blast off I wait until it gets hot enough and go from there. You can use tape or whatever or not tape, but like a glove, but I like to just put a piece of plastic over it. It works perfect when it's too hot to touch, so we're gone ahead and blast it and yes, I'm at a customer's home again repairing a different device. I love this mobile service, a lot of common indecisive, commission and mostly time customer zero.

So just going to get nice and hot to the touch and assuming this is glued on just like the HTC, like our eye Flex tool and barely cut in it, I'm not sure, what's going on with it. Yet it's pretty soft, just like you 11, but the life seems to be opening up just the same way here, make sure you don't bend your tool and don't go in too deep I don't want to hurt her this sides being a little crankier. You just did a quarter inch here, ooh. Why would they ever do that? That's stupid, so they put a cable right here, so you can cut it. That's that's really stupid I! Don't know why they would ever do that, and I barely even went in, let's see how far we get on this device and what we need to fix on this cable here, and it looks like we need four five.

Okay, I brought a tee for just in case pretty sure it's a t5 yep. It is let's go ahead and remove all these screws. This is a magnetizer. So what we've learned from my video guys is: don't slice in too deep. You can only really slice in very little that sucks just taking off that piece there, and it's carefully taken off this one and if we're gonna look for our LCD cable.

So it looks like it's this one right here, guys still turn it off so go ahead and turn it off unplug it I will disconnect the LCD cable verify it's the same, one yep. Why am I cutting this? You might say so. I can test the new display. If everything cooperates correctly, we should be able to plug in this display here and on the phone and test it yeah. It looks like it's turning on I think I know what these side connections are: they're the squeeze on the HTC.

U 11 life I think that u 11 had it as well, but I, don't remember seeing those so who knows, looks like it's. Turning on don't know if you guys can see that it might be one of those invisible patterns. You don't get to see. Oh, there we go yeah, so it seems to be working. I didn't get the pattern yet, but this should be good enough.

Okay, so I'm going to go ahead and disconnect the battery and that unit there, and so I think all we're going to have to do is remove the battery other way and the best way to do that is to warm it up. I, don't see any pull tabs or anything user removable, unfortunately, which really sucks yeah I, don't see anything, so we're going to go ahead and warm up the front display and then cut off that cable. That should get us on our way to getting this thing fixed. Just like the u11. There might be touch Givens there, so we're going to have to find out and be really careful.

We're going to get this screen pretty hot, so we can pull out the battery as well as the screen go into the battery first make life easier, because then we would be able to get hot again. If we remove the screen already, you can get as hot as where it's just starting to discolor, but you don't go farther than that, we're starting to see a yellow spot right there. That's that's hot! Nothing in fact: stuck I have my plastic just to remove this now. This is really just weird how they don't make this battery very easy to get in I. Think careful! If you have a plastic tool, you can use that, but they're pretty hard with these batteries to remove them.

Oh my gosh Hts man, oh they're, always a nightmare. Okay. Let's remove this carefully, just tape there. Fortunately all right now we can pop off the screen, and it looks like we're going to need to save that. Earpiece I'll be careful not to lose that earpiece right there or damage it using our flat tool, get right there, and we're going to stop and warm it up and see.

What's underneath I like to get lazy, let's take a look underneath here: nothing's stuck to the display, that's perfect home buttons coming out slowly, it's really hot okay! Then we're going to salvage this up here, it's not Marielle! Anything else is garbage part. Remove this out of the way put this carefully back in its still sticky. So it's just fine okay. So what we're going to do here is remove some adhesive around this home button that may be breaking apart. You can't have that coming up.

My customer will leave enough there anyway, every single kind of piece of glass out that's left. Fortunately, this tape is extremely still sticky, so we're not gonna need to re-tape it. If you have tape leftover like this, and it's in good condition all around, if you heat it up enough, it should remain. Then you don't need to replace your tape. This should be enough.

It's pretty tedious to replace the tape, and you can see my other job about it. All it is. Are you just got to rewarm it up? Okay, so we're going to go ahead and stick this in here, and the first thing we want to line up is that home button after we get that cable all the way through I'm gonna, remove the plastic, so I can make sure that button remains thing there flush with a screen. It's like that's the original damage to the frame. Okay.

Now, let's get this nice and sticky again, a caution not too hot, just not to the touch and I can withstand a lot of heat. So hopefully you can two cables rolling. My way, just press down pretty firm, but not too hard make sure you have that plugged in correctly, or you're gonna just crack your just button life will be miserable. Also, if you left any pieces of glass, my life will be miserable. Your screen will be broken, seems to be sitting in their pretty.

Well, we got little residue on the sides. It's okay! We can clean it up our plastic back on. So we have scratches from our we're working on it. You have to move this cable all the way. This is not too bad, except for that hidden, cable.

You plug this in and best to press down, then like that, make sure you hold it in that way. That killed sets flush. That's like that! Okay yeah- and this is a pressure sensor. Cable, so I'll have to get a new one for her all right. It's all stuck in there.

It's only downfall for working on new devices is that you have to be cautious about things that manufacturers put in there that try to make you break it and want to go, buy a new one. But that's why I make these videos, so you can learn for me, and you know don't make the same thing happen. Obviously something is not going in there we go okay. No there we got all the screws in we're gonna just check for the stickiness of the back. It feels pretty sticky still, so we're going to go ahead and reuse that adhesive as well I'm, especially on the back screen here, I'm still good, just remove anything that is sticking up a little too much needs to be fairly flat, but not perfectly flat.

Okay, one more time ready, he's out and then press say about 10 seconds should do it. I'm, just gonna check, make sure it's sitting in there flush it's kind of a cookie design to how this is old, Kirby both sides and that's it I- would say that was a pretty simple one. As long as you watch out for those plastic cables, maybe I'll make another video on how to do that. Cheese charge. Boards kind of heavily broken well, I'm, not broken, but it's messed up, yeah, so I'm going to keep on recording videos, and it was like I have to restart my YouTube channel I used to get a bunch of reviews.

I know you guys are views, not reviews. I know you guys liked my glass repair videos, but I can't really do that with on the go, and it really doesn't interest me. Furthermore, I still want to make videos, and so I'm gonna keep on making videos of different phones that are coming out. Hopefully, I'm going to get my hands on the note 9 this month, and I'm going to do a couple videos about transferring data and opening it up, and you know my thoughts about it and stuff like that. So, hopefully you'll be some awesome videos coming up anyways, if you like the video, please like it.

If you disliked it, please do the thumbnail thumb down that just lets me know that I'm, just not making the correct kind of video I've tried to change things up and do a better outfit I've shown to others and previous videos. But basically I got this little box thing here and my tripod here, and so I'm. Just trying to your know, make better videos for you guys, so I hope you guys like it anyways thanks for watching you.
