How To Get NAT Type 1 PS4

Hello everyone and welcome back to another video today, I'm gonna, be showing you all how to get nap type 1 on the PS4 I'm, making this video specifically for educational purposes, for those that want to experiment with NAT type 1 and see what happens when they get nap type 1 on their PS4. So I hope that you guys enjoy this video. The format will be a little different from my other videos on my channel, but that's just so that why I can clearly explain the best way on how to do this, even if you're not exactly technically inclined, so I hope that you enjoy, and let me know what you think in the comments section. First thing that we need to do is understand what determines your PS4 is NAT type. We will start off with the NAT type 3 and NAT type 3 occurs whenever your PS4 is placed in a router behind router situation or more than one router on your home network, trying to assign an IP address or trying to forward ports. Reason number two could be if you are connecting to the Internet through a wireless internet hotspot provided from your cell phone or from a wireless carrier.

Reason number three could be is if you were trying to connect to the internet through a satellite internet provider and reason number four could be if ports are just being completely restricted on your network and are not being properly forwarded to your PlayStation 4. In this video, though, we would be primarily focusing on NAT type 1 on PS4 and how to obtain it. One thing that I do need to disclose is NAT type 1 and open. Nat in games are not the same thing when it comes to the PS4, meaning that your PS4 on the PlayStation 4 dashboard can actually have NAT type 2, where it appears that in online multiplayer games you have an open, NAT type, and this is completely normal and ideally the way you want your PlayStation 4 to be set up. I'm actually going to repeat this again, because I feel, like a lot of people, do not understand this.

That NAT type 1 on the PS4 dashboard is not the same thing as open NAT type in multiplayer games when it comes to the PS4 console, for instance, on my PS4 dashboard, my PlayStation 4 says that I have a NAT type too, but when I go, and I play multiplayer games online, my NAT type is open, and this is simply because the proper ports are being forwarded for that multiplayer game, and it's not directly correlated to the NAT type on the PS4. The secret, with the PS4 NAT type, is that NAT type is based strictly on what type of IP address your PlayStation 4 is assigned. Yes, that's right. I said it. The only difference between NAT type, 1 and NAT type 2 on the PS4 dashboard is the IP address.

That's it. The difference is with NAT type 1 on the PS4 dashboard. Your PS4 is assigned a public IP address. Where is NAT type 2 on the PS4 dashboard means that your PlayStation 4 is assigned a private IP address behind a firewall or behind a router on your home network. So at this point you might be asking yourself well what is the difference between a public IP address and a private IP address? The main difference between the two is that a private IP address is one that is assigned by your router on your home network, whereas a public IP address is one that is assigned by your internet service provider or your ISP.

So what this means is that the only true way to get a NAT type 1 on your PS4, when testing through the PlayStation 4 dashboard, is to make sure that your PS4 has been assigned an IP address from your internet service provider or a public IP address. So the way that you do this is really dependent on your network configuration scenario I'm going to show a couple: different scenarios on-screen and show you exactly how to obtain a public IP address from your internet provider to your PS4, so scenario, number one is going to be this configuration. So in this configuration as you can see, we have our Internet service provider. We have our cable modem, we have our home network router, and then we have our PlayStation 4. Now, to get NAT type 1 for this configuration.

Basically, what you have to do is you have to remove the router completely from your network setup, and you need to connect to your PlayStation 4 directly into the cable modem that connects to your internet provider. What this allows to happen is for your PlayStation 4 to grab the public IP address that would normally be assigned to your router. The downside of this, however, is obviously you won't be able to connect any other devices to your home network connection, except for your PlayStation 4, or this next configuration. We have our internet service provider that has supplied a two-in-one router modem combo for our home network connection. This is often very common for internet service providers such as AT&T, Verizon and sometimes Comcast, so, basically, in order to get NAT type 1 on our PS4.

In this configuration we'll have to log in to our router modem, combo 2 in one and assign our PlayStation 4 to the DMZ zone on the Gateway. Now, in this scenario, I probably will not be able to help you, and that is because your router 2 and 1 combo is probably very different from the equipment that I use from my home network. So in this scenario, what you'll have to do is go to google and do a quick, google search on how to DMZ your PlayStation 4, using the model number of your gateway, or you can easily call your internet service provider, and they'll be able to assist you in applying a device to your router modem, combos DMZ zone. Once you apply a device to your gateways DMZ zone, this allows for Internet service provider to pass through a public IP address straight to the device that has been placed in that zone. For this third and final scenario, we have a little more of a difficult setup.

This is a home network, router that is connected to an Ethernet jack and either a dorm or an apartment complex. That is on a shared network connection. Now on a shared internet connection through either a dorm or an apartment complex that offers shared network services. It's most likely that you're not going to be able to get a NAT type 1 on your PlayStation 4. That is because you don't exactly have an ISP that is connected directly into your dorm or to your apartment.

So, therefore, the home network connection is controlled specifically by the dorm or by the apartment complex, and you really have no control exactly over. What obtains a public IP address or not. Your best bet in that scenario is to do. Similarly, what we did in the first network configuration is to completely bypass your router and connect your PS4 directly into the Ethernet jack that supplies your home network connection. Aside from that network configuration the only possible connections that are not able to obtain an ATS hype1 are going to be satellite internet providers and network connections that are obtained through your cell phone provider or through a mobile hotspot provider.

Thank you guys, so much for watching I hope that you all enjoyed the video. Let me know in the comments section, if you all have any questions, and please do rate the video because, it does help me out a lot and I will see you all on the next video peace.
