Since day one, it seems apple, just can't make up its mind on the darker colors for their hardware. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, though. Over the years apple has offered a wide array of different shades for their black slash space gray products. One example would be the difference in space gray from the iPhone 5, slates color, and then the iPhone 5s, the black on the 5, was more of that kind of bluish slate. It had more of a blue tint to it, while the 5s space gray was definitely more gray. I guess you could say it wasn't as dark and was a stark contrast from one generation to another and looks like apple yet again hits us with some d?j? vu, because now Apple has replaced the darker almost jet black space gray.
With this all new graphite, stainless steel, finish and yo, can we take a minute to appreciate its beauty in this video we're going to take a quick look at both to compare and contrast, and also to showcase some of my favorite bands to pair up with the new graphite color, as well as looking at the all-new graphite? Milanese loop band that was released in conjunction with the new graphite series 6. This has to be one of my all-time. Casing finishes it's so lovely and eye candy for the wrist, but without further ado, let's get the intro rolling. So we got to get pricing out of the way, because this new jewel certainly is not cheap. It's available in both the 40 and 40 millimeter sizes, and you're forced into the GPS plus cellular version with the stainless steel and addition offerings.
You can't just get a GPS stainless steel model. So in order to get the new graphite option, you're basically forced to pick up the series 6, since the SE only offers aluminum finishes depending on which band you get, will skew the price up or down, but on the lower end for a 40 millimeter with sport band. This will set you back a whole seven Benjamin. If you want to be bougie, though, and get the most expensive graphite offering, you could pair it up with the space gray link bracelet on the 44 millimeter model for a whopping 1 149, which, by the way the link bracelet won't match completely because for some reason the Milanese loop was updated with the new graphite color. But the link bracelet wasn't, and I even have the black stainless steel link bracelet to match up with the graphite, and I mean it looks pretty good, but being a tech, nerd and anabolic at least to me.
It does stick out just a little if anyone at apple HQ is listening, though, please release the link bracelet in both the new graphite and new gold stainless steel finishes that would go hard, but back to the graphite from a distance. It isn't immediately apparent. Furthermore, it ends up looking much like the previous darker space gray, but when you get closer and especially outdoors, the shimmer and shine of the lighter graphite prevails and makes you do a double take, putting them side by side. The differences are now a little more apparent. The graphite is noticeably lighter and much more reflective.
Don't get me wrong. The previous more jet black style space gray is super sleek. It really goes amazing with a wide array of Apple Watch bands, but it doesn't have quite the effectiveness of the new graphite and when looking at the new graphite Milanese loop, the consistency follows here. As the previous space gray Milanese loop is basically all black. I do like the newer graphite space gray, a bit better.
It has this shimmer and when the sun or lighting hits it just perfect man, it's a beauty at times, though, it kind of sort of resembles the regular stainless steel, because it is that much more reflective over the previous space gray. I'm just not used to it. I guess, but when matching it up with the graphite Milanese loop boom, you feel untouchable. It is such a good-looking piece of hardware, there are thousands, if not millions of band combinations and just about every band looks good here. Only other colored metal bands begin to look a bit tacky or those bands with stainless steel metal inserts like the discontinued classic buckle or modern buckle line, but other than that.
I am quite pleased with this purchase. The stainless steel offerings have always offered more of a luxurious look, they're, also noticeably heavier than the regular aluminum sport models. This is because steel is a harder and denser material, give or take about 10 grams difference. All the stainless steel watches feel so premium, and the added heft makes it feel that much more like a beautiful piece of jewelry. In the end, the differences in the two shadings are minor enough, that it shouldn't be a dealbreaker for someone.
Who'd prefer the darker look of the previous space gray, yet providing enough of a difference that you immediately notice when having them on the wrist. I absolutely love the new graphite and think it looks particularly snazzy with the all new link bracelets that I have prematurely shown before the actual review. Don't worry that review is coming soon. I'm just waiting on apple to ship out the last color needed to complete the review. I have saddle brown and black with California poppy currently on the way and Baltic blue has yet to ship, despite placing my order.
No less than one hour after they went up for sale. Rest assured, the very same day Baltic blue is delivered is the same day. The review will be up, but that's it guys just a quick hands-on with the brand-new graphite color. It definitely changes up the dynamic of band selection. Since now the reflectivity and sheen are way more prominent, but let me know what you guys think: do you prefer the older more jet black style space gray or this new graphite, offering I'm definitely in the latter camp as this new color option is to die for up next.
We also have to compare and contrast the new gold color, since it has also changed and only way to not miss it is to subscribe to my channel with bells. This channel is quickly approaching 50 000 subscribers and I have a huge giveaway planned, but that's it for now. I'm clocking out but, like I said, stay tuned as we also have to take a closer look at the titanium edition watches, as well as the new blue and red series.6 apple watches until next time guys stay safe. You.
